Yes, very good advice.... I apply the 80/20 strategy.. where I hoard 80% of all the coins I buy and I use 20% to buy stuff. (Food & expenses)

Thanks for this rule, I might have forgotten this one, yeah, why not apply it to bitcoin as a strategy as well.

We have to support the retailers and shops that accept Bitcoin payments .. or they will stop accepting it. So why not use the FIAT budget for Xmas and convert it all to Bitcoin and then use that to pay for the gifts and the food. (You would have spend it on that in any way, why not pay with it in Bitcoin)  Roll Eyes

Unfortunately, there's not much of a shop that accept bitcoin payments here, there will always be 3rd party in between to exchange my bitcoin to FIAT so I have to go this services. Nevertheless, I will spend some including New Year too, which for us, is celebrated more than Christmas I must say because it's not just the whole family but extended families as well and we will have a street party and gift giving as well.

I gave some of the bitcoins to my nephew as a Christmas present, and he was surprised but happy to take them.

Christmas is over. I didn't spend my bitcoins. I had the intention of spending bitcoins, buying gifts for my friends, or giving bitcoins to my friends. But I restrained myself. I don't think it's necessary.
I had dinner with my friends, listened to music, and spent the day happily.

Christmas is a season when you will get to spend time with your friends and family and have fun. I won't suggest unnecessary spending of money or bitcoin, but it won't be improper if you take a portion of your profits and have fun.

Merry Christmas everyone   Grin

We need money for several stuff this festival period, yeah, but it is a simple advice I've got for the crypto community which you are part of, Don't sell your Bitcoin to buy stuffs that will perish few days or weeks after Christmas.

This advice not to sell our bitcoin to finance our Christmas dreams can be possible now as most of those who hold bitcoin have already incurred losses before now because of the price dump for those who bought months ago and selling in loss is not a good thing, otherwise around Christmas is the time of cashing out on bitcoin. For those who love to spend during Christmas, they should learn to spend wisely. There is January and its problems and expenses, rents to be paid, school fees for those returning back to school also.

The worst advice I've read from high rank accounts in this forum, you're don't know how important Christmas day for the one you love. Let's say you want to give a something to the one who you're rarely met, but you didn't want to sold your Bitcoin to buy the lovely stuff for her. You didn't give anything to her and just giving a useless text, but after then she will block you since she already with the other guy.

After you know it, you become depressed and don't have any reason to life just because you're don't want to sold your coin to buy a little thing.

Christmas is a time to give back, this is what I have always believed,  Today the 23rd of December and I sold a little fraction of my bitcoins to support my close friends in providing free medical outreach to people in need of it.

They have been able to put together a team of medical practitioners for this outreach, I feel happy knowing that my bitcoins has been able to assist in helping people get some healthcare.

This is what makes Christmas special sometimes is not about Saving or holding Currency.
This is more special because you saving life's just imagine how many people you would be able to put smile on their face just by doing this. Thanks Rruchi man God bless you for this

Christmas is not just any normal season it's a time of showing love to everyone, It is the season when Jesus Christ Our Saviour was born and spending some bitcoin to show it, is not really bad idea.
I guess what you trying to say is how much of your coin are you spending?  What are you spending it on? How important is it to you?  How do you plan to get the money back?

I do not celebrate Christmas but it's safe to say that it's your money so it doesn't hurt you if you spend some of your Bitcoin asset for big event like this. It's not limited to Christmas only but other big events in later date if you would like to spend some of your money for some goodies and want to spread happiness with your profits.

With whatever strategy you use, you can probably buy-back those Bitcoin in later time so spending it on this big event won't matter that much as you can buy it again for example with DCA strategy for long term one.

If you just buy the same amount (or more) of Bitcoin at the same time that you spend Bitcoin then you're not really spending any Bitcoin, you're just spending fiat in the end, because you keep the same amount of Bitcoin saved.

That's the best way to keep your stash intact and also use Bitcoin.

There is no problem in spending a little bit more during special dates, but of course it's not an excuse to burn all your bitcoin holdings without thinking on the future. For those who live alone it must be easier to keep holdings intact during Christmas, but for those who are going to stay with their families it's not possible to not spend with them. Life is too short and we need to enjoy the good times with the people we love. We never know when it's going to be our last Christmas, so better to make sure the currently one is going to be the best of all.

This maybe a great advice but Bitcoin is a coin and asset itself so, you have to use it like how it works. However, once you sell it at this current price you might not be able to buy the same price again, but if you are lucky to earn some money with your job you can afford to buy at this price or maybe it will go cheaper but we can't be so accurate if the price will go that way since the market is always unpredictable.

We just have to use whatever we had but if you're in need of money there's no problem with that if you sell some BTC but make sure you can buy it back before it grows.
Most of the time during the holiday season more selling happens in the market. People desire to spend selling what they've earned through the year. In recent years this have changed alot, because understanding the importance of having bitcoin majority of the small volume holders have stopped selling bitcoin and spending for entertainment. Life is unpredictable same is with bitcoin, so living life spending something for our happiness is needed for now.

The world is preparing to celebrate Christmas. Myself too doing the same. It is really a must to celebrate Christmas through giving. One of the above user selling a small fraction of his earnings to support the medical needs of people is really appreciable and hope such things need to be the priority of Christmas from all than celebration and partying.

For Christmas, I have prepared gifts for everybody in our family, especially for my sister. I am so excited to give the present to my sister Sarah. She will be really surprised to see the tickets to Bali. I know she loves to swim, so I got her a swimsuit too and some pairs of bikinis from https://www.lascana.com/Bikinis. She is going to love it! I can’t wait to see the expression on her face when she opens the gift.

This is just like every other Christmas that has come and go, presicly season of love for me to touch some lives, but the difference here is that I'm using the entire December Bitcoin payment which I got from signature campaign to do some charity.

Allready I've started some gifting to people around me and I will do as much as I can to show some love to less previlaged in my country side and as well visit motherless baby homes and the widows too.

I’d rather eat yellow snow than sell bitcoin to pay for Christmas presents. Not long until Christmas now so Happy Xmas to you OP & all on the forum. I haven’t been preparing well to be honest, I have been struck down with a bad case of man flu, I’m on day four now. I’ll be better by Christmas though, I have a beast of a turkey to enjoy Cheesy

As I do every Xmas I have printed off & funded bitcoin paler wallets for my loved ones. As far as I am aware they HODL every year & are yet to sell going back many years.

Xmas is a great time of year, a special time to spend with people you love. Please have the best one possible.
Seems to me that your family dig your jive of gifting them bitcoins if this has been going on for a number of christmas days already. Must be nice to have a family that supportive with investments and asset management. Anyhow, I do hope you get better soon! The christmas season here at btctalk wouldn't be the same without us guys being active and all, although I myself doubt I'd be as active once it comes around on the account that you'd have to stay downstairs and socialize in person lmao. Anyhow, have a happy hodlidays man! See you around next year!

Well we are getting some friends over, its going to be quite hard because its all going to be in our house, my wife has been preparing for nearly a week and it has been tiring her a lot. I would love to help, but for two reasons I haven't been able to do so, first of them is the fact that I work all day so when I finish my work and try to help her its already late, and she already did so much work during the day, second is the fact that she doesn't trust me with anything Cheesy I mean I would love clean or cook or anything, but she doesn't trust the work I would do, even if I wipe the floors, she wipes after me to make sure lol.

Sorry OP, I am going to default on this one Grin. Despite the current market situation, I do not think it would hurt if I spend some Satoshis. I do not care whether the item perishes in a few days or weeks after Christmas. It would make me happy. I have planned for it. However, I think the caveat here is to spend wisely and not on some foolish thing one may end up regretting.

I believe Christmas is not good for crypto, but it is good for those who celebrate it. I say this because sometimes massive sells occur to celebrate Christmas, which has an effect on the Bitcoin price. Some people are concerned that prices will fall as a result of the Christmas sale. As a direct consequence, there is a massive sale. I'd like to celebrate Christmas by not selling our stock. Because your possession would make you happy once a day after Christmas.
