Uruguai was the favourite before the Suarez pitbull stuff, now things are upside down. For me Colombia is favourite 51-49%(first time they face a decent team)

It's just sick, something isn't right in his brains. He shouldn't be allowed to play in international matches at all.

Suarez deserves every single bit of punishment that comes to him. If there was a 3 strikes rule, this guy would be history.

How can you keep making the same mistake? Mental issues?

The dude needs to see a sports psychologist or a regular one. Something to process the emotions he's feeling instead of biting another person. IMO it would be better to punch a dude in the face when you are pissed instead of biting. Hate that shit.

LOL, suarez banned 4 months from football activity (poor liverpool) and can't play for uruguay in next 9 international matches (bye bye world cup for suarez)
maybe The Walking Dead producers should cast him for zombie roles Tongue

What does everyone think about the ban?

Too long? Too short? Just right? Tongue

Personally I think it's good. I can not stand the fact that this idiot is running around the pitch BITING people. I mean, seriously!

I was expecting long ban but I think he got really short ban it must be atleast 1 year ban. He did intentionally and it is not good for sportsmen.

Yeah. I wouldn't have minded seeing a year ban. He basically deserves whatever is coming to him after the crap he's pulled over the years.

exactly, it's not his first time

he already did this 3-4 times

he deserves it..

if it was his first time it would be okay to punish him with just a few games but this way he deserved this completely..

1 year is a soft punishment IMO.   I mean the fact that this has happened several times is ridiculous.   I don't think it would be out of line to suspend him for life.   He clearly does not learn his lesson...ever!

Is is suspension without pay?   It should be, because then maybe it would teach him...

He should be disqualified for all the World Cup and other international cups.        We can't allow someone to act like that. And if this was his first time, OK. But it's his third time, I've seen this before in the Dutch Eredivisie cup.

However, now Liverpool is screwed by his action. They paid a lot of money for Suarez, and they still do for his salary. Now they have to miss him for a couple of months as he's not allowed to show up at any soccer club / soccer match anymore.   It isn't the fault of Liverpool, it's the fault of Suarez himself.  That why I should say, ban him for the next World Cups and other international cups, but 4 months it quite a lot for Liverpool.

That 80.000 Euro penalty isn't much for him. That psycho needs some therapy, only 1-5 year olds act like that. Which adult is going to bite someone.. right, just Suarez.

I heard they were going to schedule in some extra drinking pauses if the temperature is going to be above 32 degrees celcius.

Totally right.
We already have one of these pauses during a game because the temperature was almost 32º celsius.

I wish the earlier rounds in the World Cup weren't allowed to end in ties.  They should do overtime and shoot outs in the early rounds too.   Ties suck!

Germany or Netherlands will be the winner. Who else can even compete with them? They will meet in the finals

I'd love to see that final Wink. Let's make it a revenche for the Netherlands, a revenche for 1974 Smiley.

Before the WC started I didn't though The Netherlands would be this strong. However, I'm afraid they underestimate Mexico now, allthough "we" are able to win that match. Especially now Van Persie is back (as he was disqualified for the last match) and Robben is at a great state.  We'll see sunday. I'm going to watch it at one of the big squares in the Netherlands, like most of the Dutch probably.   Smiley

it's not an underestimate it's just the way it is...

Netherlands is way better but Mexico could press on because of the fact they're almost playing on the home field

the crowd can press the players and that could be the key factor..

Yes you're right. But now the Netherlands won like this against Spain and Australia, they may have too much self-confidence.  We saw this earlier, 6 years ago, when we beat Italy and France and lost afterwards against Russia in the 1/8 finales (with the Dutch Guus Hiddink as trainer).

The climate and the crowd indeed are an advantage for Mexico.  The Dutch soccer players only trained 10 days in Portugal "to get known with the climate of Brasil", however, when they were at Portugal the weather was just as bad as usually in the Netherlands if I remember this well.

For me both teams wont even make the semifinals, if you had watched the matches you had know that netherlands 2-0 victory over Chile was fake, the dutchs played like if they were fighting and the ref never give them a yellow or red card, the dutchs made several fouls in the penalty area and the ref dint say anything. So they are not that strong.
And germany, well germany is just another good team, nothing surprising, they won a 10 man portugal, draw to ghana, nothing else.

In my opinion Netherlands, Germany and France from Europe and Brazil, Argentina and Uruguay from S. America are top favorites to win this World cup!
Each team have some good things and weaknesses and small details and luck will decide.

Replace Uruguay with Costa Rica and I am d'accord. Suarez was banned for the remainder of the World Cup for biting the Italian guy. Without him Uruguay won't be as strong.

Also there is a slight possibility that Chile beats Brazil. Especially if Brazil keeps being so unstable in the defense.

Judging by the games so far I'd place high bets on Germany vs the Netherlands playing the finals.

Yes, I agree that Costa Rica did great in this World cup until now, but I don't think they have power to go until the end.
In order to win World cup experience and routine is very important (Germany is the best example for this if you look their results in previous World cups) and Costa Rica don't have necessary experience and routine but they still have chance, of course.
Personally, I would like to see them in final but realistically, it's very small possibility that something like this happens.
