England are always disappointing. We've been mediocre for years. Not exactly full of world class players at the moment.

Attacking wise we are decent right now dont you think? sturridge, rooney (although maybe he is past his best), sterling (too soon maybe)

If we had a younger terry, ferdinand and ashley cole all playing at the back we would have a good shot at winning this world cup.

Who is any good as a whole team right now? maybe germany thats about it?  Mexico & Chile look about as good as anyone else beyond germany.  Brazil have home advantage, Argentina could play good or bad.

Those strikers are good, but we can't just rely on them and they've not been getting the results. That was Rooney's first goal in the World Cups. His header that hit the bar was unfortunate though. Getting two goals in that game would probably give him a lot of confidence.

And we were never that good when we had the younger versions of Ferdinand, Cole, Terry etc though that was a solid defense. Better than we was now for sure, but never a world class team. This squad is pretty young so give them a few years and see where we're at for the next Cup. Hopefully we'll have a few new fresh faces by then as well.

England still have a decent chance at qualification imo. Italy favorites to win their 2 remaining group games and england to beat costa rica.  They would probably go out after that but still Grin

Doesn't matter anyway. When we manage to scrape through to the next round we just get knocked out straight away  Cheesy. Would be interesting to see how they fair against some of the other big teams, especially since some of them have hardly been amazing as well.

Spain, England and Portugal are big disappointments for me until now. Great players, teams, what happened with them?
Any way, even Brazil didn't show much in first 2 matches.
This world cup will be really very interesting until the end Smiley

I agree about Spain. England wasn`t playing so bad but they don`t have luck. Portugal without Ronaldo in top form isn`t so good and now Pepe has red card, Coentrao and Almeida are injured and Ronaldo is not playing well so it will be very hard for them.

Tonight's predictions:

Italy 2-1 Costa Rica
Switzerland 1-2 France
Honduras 1-1 Ecuador.

I like world cup. I think netherlanh is going to win.

I think/hope they'll go far. Monday's game against Chile will be the decider I think. Both teams will want to avoid playing Brazil in the next round.

Some highlights:

- There’s a clear distinction between the predicted top four teams and the rest of the field – though one of those spots will open up after the early elimination of Spain

- Only 9% of entrants have picked the Netherlands  - who at 10.50 are currently our fourth placed favourites to win the tournament - to make it, fewer than picked England

Well I sure hope the team that replaces Spain will be Holland. I've got them in my four semi finalists bet with Germany, Argentina and Brazil, and also for them to make it into the final.

Some highlights:

- There’s a clear distinction between the predicted top four teams and the rest of the field – though one of those spots will open up after the early elimination of Spain

- Two teams from Group G, including Portugal - who are currently at 40/1 to win the entire tournament - are among the five favourites to reach the semis

- Only 9% of entrants have picked the Netherlands  - who at 10.50 are currently our fourth placed favourites to win the tournament - to make it, fewer than picked England

- Despite their very tough group, more people picked the USA to advance this far than Mexico

- World #6 Switzerland are not widely fancied, with 17 teams picked ahead of them (including Russia, Ecuador, and Nigeria)

Best of luck with your betting on today’s games!

Cheers,
Cloudbet

Just popped in to say England were basically poor.  Defense was shocking, replace baines with luke shaw.  Replace jagielka with a scarecrow.  Joe hart should have saved second goal.

Does anybody know if there's a form online anywhere like the free 100btc giveaway Cloudbet did where it automatically fills out who you think will progress to the next round etc? I want to try work out / keep tabs on what teams are likely to play each other in the next rounds and so on.

If they lose both games , they are out of the game.
Remember 2010 , there is no such thing as for sure in football.

There is only a 0.01% chance for that to happen. The Costa Rican win against Uruguay was definitely a fluke, and still they are one of the weakest teams playing in this tournament. Anyway, England are much behind even if the Goal Difference is considered.
How exactly did you calculate this chance?

That was strange I went through that list and it did not list the Netherlands
They qualify and are the leaders in Group B so someone must have missed them
Were they under another name?
