Banning does not solve anything. Some regulation can be made to prevent scam and bubbles

Is it only Bitcoin or any crypto-currency trading is prohibited. If it is only Bitcoin as you say, then that will not be practical only to limit that.
Anyway, what is the reason that government is giving. This might be a idea of some unknown people in the regulatory institute. They do not know how what this is, and do not want to study what it is. So easy way is to ban it all. They can regulate it according to the states low and control some functionalities as required, but totally prohibiting will make the things worse. Anyway if county rise some voices there might be chance.

And the wait is officially over!  The worst news in this year is Bitcoin is Totally illegal in Bangladesh. If someone trade bitcoin then he will be punish by police in Jail!

What should we do now, Guys?  Cry
Well thats a very bad news. I am from India just a neighbour to Bangladesh and if such a thing is happening in Bangladesh its quite obvious that India will also be affected by such transition. India which is unable to fix its mind upon legality of bitcoin might also take some harsh step if it sees Bangladesh gaining some success with this decision. Moreover banning is really not the solution to it. Regulation is need to control bitcoin not banning.

Some governments like china also restrict the trading of btc. What a pity! The huge computing power in china make this a great obstacle for crypto currency.
It’s very bad news that someone is using bitcoin in crime because bitcoin is very safe and sound currency it actually helping humanity so we need to respect bitcoin because it’s not here to use it for bad things we need to use bitcoin for such a good things such as charity and donation and in poor countries they need bitcoin for better life I will also request to bitcoin to find a solution for it to fix this problem because bitcoin is good for its users.

In this link you can find the circular released by the central bank https://www.dhakatribune.com/business/banks/2017/12/27/bangladesh-bank-ban-bitcoin/ I don´t know how to read that but if someone could, it would be great. Anyway, I´m sorry for the pals from Bangladesh if the info is true.

Source? Sounds like FUD to me. Remember when "China banned Bitcoin" ? Now Korea FUD? Now Bangladesh? Lol this won't last long and people will just circumvent it because it's so easy. A government can't stop a decentralized currency.

It is exactly this. Major investors are driving the price down so they can make ridiculous profits again next year. Wait until '18.

I think you shitposters and spammers from Bangladesh should just give up and accept it. I wish it gets banned in Pakistan too. The spam will go down by at least 30% if that happens.

It's funny how some governments are manifesting how scared and uncertain of their financial situation they are by banning everything they don't understand. If something gives people more freedom and independence it's going to be banned immediately. Cheesy

Loool, letting off the steam?
But I have to agree with you.
And to make things worse, it's not just the government in those countries that doesn't get Bitcoin, the same can be said by the posters here.

I'm getting tired, angry, and probably will end up in a sanatorium trying to explain how bitcoin works, how mining works, how transactions works, how mining bitcoin is not like mining iron and so on.......bare with me, I'm letting off  steam too right now Cheesy

But you forgot Filipinos, I think they are the majority around here these days.
And in Philippines, bitcoin is legal. Should we be happy ?!?

if you worried about that just don't do anything about bitcoin.. I don't understand why some countries really scared about crypto currency whereas crypto currency can help their country to increase revenue and help their people to make money..

You make it sound like you wanted this to happen. For example, "finally, I got my first bitcoin"

This is very sad indeed.  unfortunately I believe more countries will join in banning the bitcoin including China and Russia.  When one or both of those countries ban bitcoin it will have a major effect on the market.  Like what was  mentioned earlier look to countries like Zimbabwe or Venezuela where they actually use the bitcoin for a currency because it has actual value unlike the fiat currency that hold very little to no value.  Also Governments around the world have Been unjustly  over taxing the poor to pay for their political agendas with fiat money.  Poor people have ALWAYS been a easy target by governments because they dont have the  necessities needed to protect themselves .  Cryptocurrency is an equalizer and bullys never like to fight fair.  Bitcoin Is not illegal in my country so I can’t give you any real advice but to look at the other countries like Zimbabwe in Venezuela.
Fight the good fight brother!

It's a pity this has happened in your country. My advice is for you to be law abiding. You can continue using BTC for shopping and other needs and then cash out outside your country. This makes the process a bit tedious but can you do better?

If bitcoin has been outlawed in your country Bangladesh, it then means it becomes a crime to indulge bitcoin in Bangladesh. This is really sad and definitely your government will feel the brunt economically. The Bangladeshi government should seek China for advice on this.

What i heard is that Bangladesh already banned bitcoin but you are talking as if this is a new development ,make sure you live by the law to avoid serious consequences, why would anyone want to risk jail time trading bitcoin if the end result will be bad,you have to either find an alternative to trade your coins and wire your money, that is the only option.

If it is true, then I am sorry to hear it. There is nothing you and your compatriot can do other than just follow the rules. Do not get into a trouble because of bitcoin even though it is bitter fact.
