I don't know how big the list of missing posts is, but it shouldn't be too big.
I expect the list of deleted posts to be very big, and you'll have to check all deleted posts to find the missing ones.

If TryNinja got them from me and has 528, how come I only have 526?
I can check later, but my first guess is that the 2 extra posts I have were missing from my archive (because they were missing from yours) until someone merited them, then my scraper did its job.

@TryNinja: considering the way I created my old posts archive, it's going to be a lot of work to add those missing posts. I don't think I'll do it any time soon, but I plan to revisit all missing posts someday. When I do, I'll get you a copy. I expect it to take a few months to check them all.
That's fine. I still want to check and scrape what's missing from my archive (i.e posts from the time cloudflore blocked us, server downtimes, etc). I don't know how big the list of missing posts is, but it shouldn't be too big.

There are a total of 539 posts visible publicly on Satoshi's profile.

Now, that's a different matter. We take 539 posts, add 36 posts from closed sections, and finally we get 575 posts, the number of posts that is displayed in satoshi's profile. Now everything is in place.

For example, msg28533 and msg28549 are missing from your archive, although they are both on the first page of Satoshi's post history.
I scraped old posts by topic, not by userID. Those posts are on the second page, and I only have the first page of this topic.

There are a total of 539 posts visible publicly on Satoshi's profile. Your bot likely missed a few, as only 526 are included in your archive. (It's also possible that these posts were made public at some later point in time.) For example, msg28533 and msg28549 are missing from your archive, although they are both on the first page of Satoshi's post history.

Im looking at satoshi's posts, and it just appears as normal. How can you check if he deleted any posts?

You can't do that, because none of the third-party archives or scrapers existed at the time, imho. Even if satoshi deleted some of his posts, it was a long time ago.

Anyway, I can tell you for sure that ninjastic.space won't help you with that. Why? Note that the number of posts in satoshi's profile and the number of posts found by ninjastic are different, and ninjastic shows that satoshi has 528 posts, while in his profile the number of posts is 575. That is, ninjastic does not take into account all of satoshi's posts. While it can account for deleted posts, you'd have to open each of the 528 posts on ninjastic to see if satoshi had deleted posts.
Why is that, though? Are those posts from the Staff board (or other private boards)?

Wow, I didn't think of that Smiley That's right, your service doesn't take into account posts in closed sections. But still, something doesn't add up. I counted 36 satoshi posts in closed sections. Plus 528 posts that show up in ninjastic. That makes only 564 posts out of the 575 posts shown in satoshi's profile. Where are the other 11 posts?

LoyceV on the road. Or couch.
I recently discovered (when someone pointed it out) that my scraper failed to go to the second page on some threads, meaning it may have missed hundreds of pages.

Didn't LoyceV scrape all old posts that could be publicly found? What did he miss, which is now also missing from my archive? Tongue

Thanks, im testing this tool, but I don't understand how to find if a post is deleted, edit or just normal.
You can't unless you check everything manually or write your own tool to check post by post.

You can use https://ninjastic.space/ for it.

In addition for finding bitcoin address on the site, click on the menu at the left corner at the upper side, you will see address. Click on address and put in the address that you are looking for and search for it.

To search for post instead of address, click on post instead of address and search for the post.

Also, how long back in time does the archive go into? where does this site pull the archived data from? Perhaps I will have better luck with the wayback machine site.

Im trying to find a deleted post that was accidentally deleted, that may contain a specific text you are looking for. For instance, an email address, btc address, url. That is, to search for strings on deleted posts, so I can find this information. It would be really useful. I know someone here maintains a sort of an archive of the website, not sure where I saw this. Could it be possible to search for something specific on such archive? Thanks.
Hi, if you didn't get a response that helped you find what you were looking for, I have a solution for you which was created by TryNinja. It is simply a small script that auto saves your posts to the forum draft every couple of seconds. From observation even after you have made or deleted the post, it remains in your drafts. Read the thread to understand better how it works.

I understand that it's possible to use the ninja stick space to search for anything on the forum e even when deleted, also the  thing am not sure about is in your explanation of using the search engine, this time the post in question is a deleted post, can we also extract deleted data through the use of the forum search or how do we go about it, I will also like to know more on this in addition to OP question asked already.
I was not talking about this forum search engine but ninjastic.space search engine. If you want to look for any deleted posts of this forum on ninjastic.space, you have to make use of its search engine.

This are what I was referring to:

https://ninjastic.space/search
https://ninjastic.space/addresses

I don't have a search feature, but I can do "grep -i *" locally.

I really though it only works just like that, since there's a note below "Click preview to save a draft." below the "Post" and "Preview" button.
That note is still correct. It applies to situations where you are working on a post/thread but you don't have time to finish it to post it. The quickest and easiest way to save it for later is clicking the 'Preview' button and saving your work as a draft. Later on, you can just copy-paste it from there and continue where you left off. I don't know what the next-best alternative would be. Perhaps saving the unfinished post in a .txt or .doc file on your computer.

It should still save without clicking the preview button. The explanation on the drafts page says that "Drafts are saved whenever you preview or post a topic, post, or PM"
That's good to know, looks like i'm living a lie since then huh. I really though it only works just like that, since there's a note below "Click preview to save a draft." below the "Post" and "Preview" button. Without knowing there is a brief description in the draft page.
I stand corrected.

This is only possible if the OP clicked the "preview" button before posting it then got deleted later on. Else it won"t save on that page.
It should still save without clicking the preview button. The explanation on the drafts page says that "Drafts are saved whenever you preview or post a topic, post, or PM". I actually didn't know that it also saves PMs, but good to know. The only issue with the drafts page is that if you often click the preview button, it can get filled quickly. There is a 100 drafts maximum limit. I don't know how others post, but I preview my posts often and sometimes multiple times before posting it. In my case, 100 drafts isn't a lot.

This is only possible if the OP clicked the "preview" button before posting it then got deleted later on. Else it won"t save on that page, the only way is check the archive tools mentioned already above.
The action of 'posting' automatically adds what you post to drafts. Previewing does the same but you do not have to do it for a post to move to the drafts.
