No need to find him, Bitcoin is doing just fine as it is and I don't see any need for anyone to go and find him. There is simply nothing that you can get out of finding Satoshi, and it would likely be more detrimental than anything. He just becomes a target for countries around the world to try and secure some power over the blockchain, whether or not they actually would be able to do anything with him.

And aside from the governments, a lot of individual criminals and criminal gangs might be going after him too, for all his millions of bitcoins. Yeah, I know he has only ~980,000 bitcoins, but it is still worth the effort. Thus it might be a wise decision overall to disappear without a trace. Though his bitcoins should be working and not sitting idly in his wallets. Why he wouldn't just share them equally among bitcoiners?

And then people could safely forget about him

All this talk about descentralized currency, no one controls the Bitcoins... But, he made a good profit with that. If he wouldn't be the currency's creator, he wouldn't have that big profit. Surely he deserves this right, but we he had profitable benefits, going against the Bitcoin philosophy.

But for his own safety, he can't show his ID, this can be very risk for him. Governments harassing all the time, terrorists tryng to coopt him, thiefs trying to steal him or Kidnap.

980000 bitcoins is enough for me Wink, even 1000 would be very appreciated. Your right that we don't need to know who the real person behind this fake name, the guy has the right to stay anonymous.

Also, I don't think he will share it among all the bitcoiners.

As far as I know had made three attempts to find Satoshi. First was some well known scientists of cryptography, second was a Californian engineer and at ast the entrepreneur from Australia. None of these was successful. So, if there is this person it's sure he knows to stay anonymous pretty nice. Maybe if he will die world learns his real identity.

Satoshi is still mistery , however every one behind the name Satoshi Nakamoto is a smart , futuristic person

It is possible that Satoshi Nakamoto is not a single person, it is maybe an alias used by a group of individuals who have thought of something like a currency online which gave birth to cryptocurrency and bitcoin. It is also possible that they just made bitcoin not as a currency but it was accidentally considered and accepted as a currency when someone thought of buying it after seeing a potential use and income. But whoever nakamoto is and what ever purpose bitcoin is made of I am happy that bitcoin today has helped me a lot to earn online.

It is very much possible. It can be a single or a group of person who created blockchain and bitcoin. No one here have met satoshi in person so your guess is as good as mine.

I don't think there's any way you can find out who that person or group was. We do not even know whether that is the real name or just a fake one to be anonymous. We don't know pretty much anything about him, it is all speculation.

What's the point of discussing satoshi anyway? Do people who use paper money or gold in the old ages look for who invented these things? No, they don't. Satoshi hid for a reason. He might have stored a million BTC for all we know that' why he hid. The fact is Satoshi is not a concern we should waste time anymore; he doesn't want to be found. So let's just let him be.

Satoshi Nakamoto is not a name,it`s nickname.

The founder of bitcoin is not from Japan.

I assume we all know that, unless some newbies who started learning about bitcoin recently.

Strange why? There's likely more than a thousand people named satoshi.
If you'd just check the citation in that page you'll see that they apparently have his pic. Nothing in there says anything about bitcoin.

True, many person name Satoshi all around the world now. So how are you gonna find it, especially in bitcoin world many of them pretending to be mr. satoshi but the truth is not.

Out of my own curiosity too, I looked into him and also found out at a time he was on the forum and his title was "Founder" I was just wowed that so the name exist. But how he was able to keep himself a way from the public and no official picture of him still baffles me. Several articles and investigative journalism has been written about him but no certainty as to that... But maybe in the future he can decide to come out but still he did something for this generation...

this is a game that predates bitcoin.
its a puzzle game more so than finding wally/waldo thing, as it requires cards that link to cryptographic and logic puzzles

for all we know bitcoins inventor liked the game and decided to assume the pseudonym due to that game, knowing after a decade of unsuccessfully "finding satoshi" in the game was futile, even with clues.. the bitcoins inventor could have decided to use that name as a hat tip to anonymity.

no one is saying the guy behind the pre-dated game is the same physical person. but it could elude to how the bitcoins inventor chose his name AFTER playing the game and taking a liking to the name

Ok, Let's assume that this is a possibility and he named himself after this game, then he had to have had a glimpse into the future. How would he have known that people would be looking for him, before it happened? I agree, he might have liked the game and used it as a pseudonym, but I figure the rest of the plot happened after Gavin went to the government.

The mystery just continues. ^smile^

No one really knows who is Satoshi Nakamoto is. Even google dont know who he is. Satoshi Nakamoto i guess is just alias. And i guess its a group of person because no one can create bitcoin on itself only. Also if he expose himself to the world. I think goverment will chase him. Its still a mystery to.us.

i dont understand this complex with "who is satoshi".
to me, doesnt make any difference... bitcoin is opensource and "decentralized" so what could he do(beside dump his coins..)?
if he was to dump his coins he would have done that already ,the creator is the one who made all these things possible and i cannot understand why people are asking about why he is relevant if he is to appear now. Lets put this way the people who thinks they are the core to the project and can very much control and decide things should be given the shake and i am not sure whether they will accept anyone if the real creator is to appear because their importance will be small, ego plays a role here
