It's happening with Spots, too, I guess for some people. I'm not getting it on any of my machines, though. I can't tell if it's on the network's end or the user's end

hydroponica, use the middle one I posted earlier, It just simply disconnects clients with 100k blocks more than current client expects.

Compiling now

Gonna let it run for a couple hours, to be sure, but instantly, the one PC I had, that was trying to sync the 400K+ blocks, started syncing the correct ammount, so, I think that did it. You have both been extremely helpful, and I think you guys should spilt the bounty, 50/50.
I am gonna let it run for a bit though, before I payout.
This isn't a Hazard coin, Mudda, you helped me compile the original client lol It was built off ARG code

As many have probably noticed, GIL client is having an issue, with crosstalk from Litecoin network. While this is not preventing mining or transactions, it is very annoying, and it gives people the impression, that their client is broken / out of sync.
While I work at getting a fix, rest assured, it is not effecting the working order of the GIL client, your client is in sync, even though it may say it isn't. You can still solo mine, without issues, and all transactions, will go through, and be confirmed, with out any problems.
Thank you for your patience.
Our know-it-all, Hydro, ask for a help.
It is better to give us another prediction.
Who goes out first, the moon or the sun?

I wouldnt be so judging, asking for help is not sign of weakness, its sign where ppl know when they can't handle stuff themselves.

I do not judge, I laugh)))). Before making judgments about something, you need to understand it well. And this clown opens his mouth in every hole...

Yup, that pchmessagestart seems to get forgotten quite often, it actually defines the protocol message starts. Its also written in blockchain etc as block separator
WAT

YUUUUP
hexdump -n 300 -C blk0001.dat
if you wanna read a good comprehensive article about blockchain and other stuff around it
http://james.lab6.com/2012/01/12/bitcoin-285-bytes-that-changed-the-world/

Quote
"Notably, the magic network ID is not part of the block. It is used solely as a delimiter between blocks."
blk0001.dat is not part of the blockchain, it's only one of the files that one client, bitcoin-qt, uses to store it
The blockchain doesn't have such things as block delimiters, it's only a list of blocks
well, if you wanna argue, blk0001.dat is the file which has all the blocks in the chain, concatenated, and delimitered with the magicnumber. hence it is THE blockchain. Local one yes, but it has every block ever produced and that is the file youre downloading when syncing with peers (ok recent ones are in the memory). and OK theres block index file also, but blk0001.dat has every, single, one of the blocks ever mined.

Some more testin and I'm passing this on. Change pars hex= merkel root error. Adding lines on main.cpp actually threw me straight into the longer chain. Looks like someone is gunna play magic numbers hard fork

Nope, didn't work. 1 client just started syncing 400K blocks Sad
The LTC messages are gone though.
I wonder if it will improve, once more clients on the network are upgraded?
