It is better to operate as a licensed one because whenever I encounter a crypto exchange from New Zealand, I always remember what happened to Cryptopia.

They don't know which one is to be trusted or not. Also, since you are having free listing for coins in your exchange, what are the major factors that you are considering for a project to be listed in your exchange? I hope you will not just list all those applications as a lot of them are short-lived projects that wanted to dispose their coins. Few weeks and their dead.

For your question regarding free listings, we would only give a free listing if it would give us a certain amount of exposure/users trading on our exchange. We also won't list any random sh!tcoin that sends us a request. We are trying to keep our exchange a place of quality and not a dump like a lot of exchanges out there.

Though there are a lot smaller exchanges without license, but this will give you edge over those smaller ones.
We are working on getting registered with the New Zealand FSPR (Financial Service Providers Register) also as a registered NZ legal company.
