We can not predict a bitcoin price. Probably the closest is information about segwit. This can have a positive impact on bitcoin prices. So the closest time now is how the results of segwit, we all crave the price increase for sure.
Segwit have been into controversial issue for a long. This time too we don't know what's gonna happen at the end. The price fluctuations were high and it seems the right time to profit involving into trading activities. Even arbitrage trading seems effective, because the price has gone as low as $2500 in some exchanges.

Now, they seem to think that there is an undercurrent of business versus business, with one taking coins at this price and another giving another price. It is now a political mess, as all things become when people gather together.

all i can think of is more drama regarding SegWit. so far SegWit2x has gained a huge support from miners (85.4% from the time it started being signaled) but apparently core developers are saying No to it. and that is causing a lot of trouble specially down the road.
We all wait a segwit.  Whatever happens this can change the bitcoin price. Increased or decreased, this will change the situation. We are all looking forward to this.
Agreed, right now majority of the users were expecting the segwit and experience the price increase or decrease happening with it. Long back itself it's speculated that once on segwit the price will peak. Let's wait and see, also the price right now is not varying much. It is fluctuating within certain limits.

I rather think that anyone who's waiting for segwit will already have priced in its activation, given that it's virtually confirmed. Whatever swings we're seeing now are already a result of those expectations. Even in the unlikely event it doesn't activate, we won't see too much of a drop off, at least not when it's already trading just a bit above 2,500 like now

This is no more than your fantasy

First, it is not about someone (or anyone, for that matter) waiting for SegWit (or anything else, for the record) who prices it in. It is the market as a whole which prices in expectations, not some random dudes taken separately. And I wouldn't say that the market is sure about SegWit. Further, I'd sooner say that the market is in fact indecisive and undecided currently. That's the reason why the price is right now trading in a rather narrow range of 2,400-2,700 dollars per coin. If there were an established sentiment, either bullish or bearish, the price would have either surged way above 3,000 dollars already or crashed well below 2,000 by now

well the problem is that segwit2x is not segwit, and require an hard fork, this mean that we might get just an altcoin, which will carry a different value, and the value of the original fork will remain unchanged

SegWit2x is SegWit plus some crap which requires a hard fork

It is the miners' way to make Bitcoin Core look is if the latter are obstinate while the former are ready to compromise. I don't know whom they are going to fool and whether they will manage to fool anyone at all but I can't see it as a compromise but rather as yet another attempt to stall Bitcoin development and improvement. Apart from that, you can't possibly equal a soft fork to a hard fork and then call it a compromise. If they want it, they should finally fork off (hard) and get done with that

If people know, then it is already priced.

If people don't know, then there will be no one to tell you

not always like that, could be that they know but they are waiting, this make everyone wait each other, and result in a price stuck like it's happening now

then everyone start buying like a madman and the value go high suddenly, i see this many times when a bad or good news happen, so it's not always priced in

this is a bit like when the new apple store open you see all the people getting in all at once...

any announcements in the next days that might bring bitcoin price up/down significantly?

At this very moment, we will just have to wait days before Australia gets on board. This is a milestone for Bitcoin that may trigger another significant price increase in Bitcoin's price. We've witnessed what happened to the price when Japan accepts bitcoin then and since Australia is next in line, the same thing is probable to happen.

Now that the numbers are growing there have been a couple of small groups of businesses that choose to gather together with us as a group and go through each learning step and development of the local infrastructure.

That has made it even crazier, there are questions among them as to what exchange to use as a common acceptance price, do they use these confirmation or those.  A single client, asking a single question was pretty open to accept the answer and move on.

i really don't think that legalizing bitcoin or not would affect bitcoin price all that much, it might increase a little but in the end it won't be that much of a difference that it makes.

On the other hand, i think that the date of the UASF is so close the number one thing that is going to affect bitcoin's price is whether more mining power signals segwit support or BU support. That will either drive price up or down.

I know that the 1st August date is over exaggerated in some cases, some people even seem to think that bitcoin is dying because of this day, but it is a pretty important date that everyone should know about.

I think some people  are viewing bitcoin as a magic lamp and expecting to Make instant, continued, profits. It is going to fluctuate folks, it is a living, breathing, tradable, commodity. It will go up long term and it will go down at times. If you cannot stomach the swings simply hodl.

This is completely right. Bitcoin in the long term will definitely go up because there is only so many that can be produced by miners, but short term a lot of people worry about oh, is this going to crash or is it going to go up. This kind of worry is good because if you can get yourself a nice deal at the bottom of the market and sell at the top, and rinse and repeat then obviously it's going to be more profitable than bagholding. But overworrying isn't the way to go.

@OP, i think there are two things right now that will affect bitcoin price drastically:

1) Legality of bitcoin in countries, whether more countries legalize it will have an influence in short term pricing
2) Whether other altcoins gets pumped or not. If ETH recovers then bitcoin will probably go down, and vice versa.

It will be different in some exchanges, bitcoin price fluctuate a lot affected by buy and sell orders from people.
To predict it will increase in the next day, watch over to what people talking about in your exchanges, whether they think it will rise or fall. Then, mostly people will buy at cheaper price, look at the market average price, compare to your exchanges price to decide whether it is lower or higher.

It is really hard to predict the short term impact of bitcoin and their price valuation, any news could bring the price of bitcoin and could trigger a sell and the majority of the reason could come up from the uncertainty regarding the network upgrade.
Honestly I do not think those scalability issues are making bitcoin prices fluctuating. Because if we consider scalability issues are impacting market then there would not have any of this much upward rally happened. Traders have ignored scalability issue some long back itself and prices are moving upward just due to Japan's adoption.

any announcements in the next days that might bring bitcoin price up/down significantly?
There might be some hype/drama/fud on august, when segwit2x is supposed to get activated. If there will be hardfork at that time, we might see some big red on bitcoin and overall crypto price. But I am optimistic about segwit2x activation, if it works like supposed than we might see a good pump rather than a dump.

Yes, like I'm so tired reading this drama on august 01, why not lets be patient about these things and trust segwit2x.
Just be positive about this. Volatility is always around the corner so much better set aside our speculations.
Yeah, august 1 has been hyped big. None is sure about the reality, and users too haven't realized this to be an speculative approach to the market. With segwit2x itself everything good happens causing a positive impact on the bitcoin's market.

As what you have said, no one is really sure on the Segwit2x activation on Aug 1 so we can't predict what the price could be. I'm just hoping though that it can bring a positive impact on the bitcoin ecosystem. I have read a few saying that the price could stalled or even go down after this date. But whatever happens, I will still hold on my bitcoins.
