I doubt if Chelsea will qualify for any European competition next season even with Lampard in charge of the team except if they win UCL this season which I believe is quite difficult to achieve going by the quality of the remaining teams in that competition, their best bet which Lampard can aspire to achieve could have been Europa league spot, however as it stand now their chances of picking a 5th position is absolutely slim because of teams above them are equally vying for that spot too clubs such as Tottenham, Brighton, Liverpool and Brentford are in good form and consistent in their performance .
Frank Lampard's presence certainly has positive and negative sides. Currently, Lampard has a very tough task where he has to take care of a club that is experiencing a downturn. Although for him returning to Chelsea is a joy, the 44-year-old cannot relax with his happiness. There is a tough task awaiting the interim manager.
Todd Boehly said there were four tasks given to Lampard. Among them, Lampard must be able to make the new Chelsea players solid with the old players, apart from that Lampard must also be able to take advantage of the old players, which in Potter's hands the old players could not perform as expected. Reece James, Mason Mount, and Christian Pulisic have been below par this season.
I doubt that Lampard will be able to go through all of this to bring Chelsea at least into the top 8 of the standings, plus the rest of the season which is only a few weeks away.
