Simeone has no bright future with Atletico Madrid from now on. He must also be aware of this truth now. His game plan doesn't work as good as in the past anymore. It isn't very difficult for their opponents to solve them and make them big difficulties. This team deserve a manager who loves an attacking-oriented game plan. I hope they find such manager this summer. Because if they do then I don't doubt they will sack Simeone. Maybe Simeone would like to leave before they do so.

I guess the problem that Atletico has right now is the gigantic contract that they signed with Simeone. It seems they included one clause that if they miss the champions league qualification, the contact needs to be re-negotiated, but if they sack him, that is going to cost Atletico a fortune. It is also a question of alternatives regarding new coaches. Tuchel is free, but perhaps they would rather want a coach who is perfectly fluent in Spanish. Simeone has done a great job, but I agree with the majority here: it doesn't feel right anymore as it wasn't just one weak season. They have been struggling for years now while they have been a champions league favorite during Simeone's earlier years as a coach.

Maybe Simeone would decide to leave Atletico Madrid then. There was some speculation before like he thought of leaving the club. The age is a good reason to pay this amount of money, clubs usually prefer younger players because they can mold them according to the team's needs, this is important.
Maybe they can ask the player to gain weight, to change position etc, some older players can't change during the career or it's more difficult.

Manchester United seem to be in search a defender also these days. The Monaco centre-back Axel Disasi is on their radar currently.

However Manchester United aren't the only Premier League team chasing this transfer. Tottenham and West Ham are also in this race. I don't think West Ham would win such race as they are having a horrible season. But Tottenham would be a big rival to Manchester United here. Maguire still has two more years on his contract. They have stated that he isn't leaving in this month. Maybe they want to give him more chances in the future also after seeing his performance in the World Cup. But I wouldn't be so sure of this.

I don't know how good choice this would be for the team. He managed Derby before and he is actively in the manager position of D.C. United. Personally I know he is a very confident player and playing in Manchester United will definitely improve his value by giving him an opportunity to actually prove to the world that he can be world-class after his comparison to Mohamed Salah.

I understand most clubs don't like buying players during the January window because of the high transfer fees but I don't think this is a good move for United. He does not have what it takes to fill the void left by C.Ronaldo. United has been shy in front of goals, We need an established striker.

I saw some sources in brazilian journals about the price, the estimate is €12.5 millions (12.79 millions USD)
The contract period will be 5 years.

Andrey Santos is now trying with Chelsea to be allowed to play South American Tournament with sub-20 brazilian team in Colombia as soon as possible.
The tournament will start January 19, and Andrey Santos are used to play in the base teams of Brazil.
He's a good player, but I think he'll need some time to get used to play in England, maybe some months, of course Graham Potter know that, but this young man can be an excelent player, maybe we can see him in World Cup 2026.

That is actually the whole point of bringing an extra goalkeeper which is to create this sort of tension between all these goalkeepers. If there isnt any other decent replacement for De Gea then he wont be motivated to play even better. There is only 1 spot for the main goalkeeper and most of the time going to play for full 90 minutes therefore this is actually a good signing though
