United working on Kalvin Phillips transfer
Manchester United are working on a deal to sign Leeds United midfielder Kalvin Phillips.

United have prioritised a defensive midfielder in the summer market after deciding against signing one last year and Phillips has impressed since Leeds were promoted to the Premier League in 2020.

Although United are interested in Phillips's England teammates Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham, West Ham have publicly valued Rice at an exorbitant £150million while Borussia Dortmund want to keep Bellingham for one more year as they are resigned to losing Erling Haaland this summer.

Do players of today still get the same feeling as before when they get a calling to play for United...i don't think so,  from how these transfers are made to sound as if United is begging for these players services. Hope United gets through with this rough patch.

This is a good move by Manchester United, and it shows that the clubs know the right decisions to take but never take them; Phillips was supposed to be sgned up after the Euros, yet MUFC went ahead to sign CR7 (Good for marketing uno). Kalvin Phillips player profile fits well as a midfield pivot player, one that manchester united lacks, and one that suits Ole and Ten Haag style of football set up. Manchester United will be hoping leeds get relegated so they can atleast buy Philips on the cheap side.

If Man United manages to sign Calvin Phillips then this is great progress because one of the weak points of Man United this season is their midfield where the performance of Scott McTominay, Nemanja Matic, and Fred is far from satisfactory. Besides that, Man United must also immediately get a formidable central defender, because the Man United Defense Line is the weakest point that really needs to be fixed.
agree with what you said, they are still quite weak there and this does have an impact on their appearance.
the presence of Calvin Phillips can at least make their midfield develop a little because this player is quite good in his cruising range on the field.
but on the other hand they also now have to start looking for their back line players too because their biggest problem is in their defenders

Erik ten Hag is now close to being named Manchester United's new manager.  Hopefully he will sign at Manchester United so the team can play better and play better tactics! I can't wait until United officially announces this man's name. Anyhow, how many coaches is United going to replace? Old Trafford concerns me, and although I love him, I will wait until he performs miracles there before I become excited; we have been excited in the past, but it ended in tears.

where rumors say that Erik ten hag is one step away from anchoring at old Trafford, no one doubts the quality of Erik ten hag in the Dutch edivisie bringing him out as champion of the Eredivisie league, of course this will be a pretty tight competition in the English Premier League with many coaches -coaches who will gather in Britain with their respective teams this will make the match more interesting at least it can bring Manchester united back to the peak of its glory as it used to be with young players aiming for Erik ten hag, we as football lovers really hope that Erik ten hag which can be inaugurated by Manchester United in order to navigate the competition next season

According to rumors, Haaland refuses the 1st offer from Manchester City.

The offer is rumored to be 25m/y plus taxes for a total of 50m€/year

Seems pretty low balling for a 21 years old that probably hasnt even reach his peak yet, dude could have been way better in 5 years from now if he play in either spanish league or premier league. Thats pretty much the same as what Neymar gets on PSG but it seems Haaland wants more than just numbers so he is either waiting for some interesting offers or he could already have some clubs on his mind to sign with

Anyway, imagine if Haaland sign with Barcelona and Mbappe sign with Real Madrid. This would have been epic though

In my opinion, this is quite an impressive amount, but since Haaland has an extensive selection, of course he can try to get more. And the duration of the contract is also important, if City offer a two-year contract then this is one thing and you can agree to numbers that are not too good for you with the prospect of re-signing the contract in the future in mind. And it's another matter if this is a five-year contract - then you have to try to get the maximum possible immediately.

The right choice for Manchester United to bring in Ten Hag as a replacement for Ralf Rangnick next season, Ten Hag who is more inclined to have a higher ball possession style of play has principles and The tactical form is the same as Manchester United style of play in the last few seasons, but it looks like there will still be a lot of changes he will have to make at Manchester, including removing some old players and also looking for the right new players in the transfer market, but I think we will see many Ajax or Dutch players who will be bringing to Manchester in the future and as we know most of the Dutch coaches have prioritized players who also came from the Netherlands so far.

I remember Jose Mourinho in his last season with Manchester United labelled Paul Pogba as a virus. But many fans came for him and even the team players seemed to took Pogba's side. Over the years, he has been nothing less than toxic, his attitude, ego and always quick to drop negative comments to media when away from  Manchester United.
You do not call a player toxic though, I mean sure he is, but him calling pogba a virus is not really a professional thing to do. If you do not like that player, you bench him, and even take him out of the 18, and then keep him there until he starts to act better.

Even though he was right, because he reacted wrongly, people came in to defend him, I never liked him, I believe he could have gone the Balotelli route and be in worse and worse teams, but Pogba was defended just because he was talked about badly. Instead of talking badly, you just need to bench him and that would have made all the difference. This move could literally might have saved Pogbas life, so he owes it all to Mourinho.
I agree he should ignore the press trying to get a word from him then but he did tried putting Pogba on the bench at the beginning of the season. Again, he got called out by Pundits, Ex Manchester United players and legend; it was obvious Pogba was a bit more of a trouble hence Jose Mourinho at first tried reducing his playing time but the fans and club legends were literally questioning Mourinho decisions and playing style. That was just disrespectful to Jose too. The best would have be the board letting Pogba go because putting him on the bench still has a way of getting whatever vibe he was resonating at that time to the team.

It is known that premier league clubs always hype English players but from the look of things it seems that Manchester United are convinced that Kalvin Phillips is the exact player they need, the question is "will he sign for them especially if any top 5 side decides to bid for him?", I think he won't sign for Manchester United. Any player with prospects will sign for any other team but Manchester United in their current state.

Now, we can speculate that Haaland may prefer to move to Real Madrid.
Since Real Madrid failed to sign Mbappe, I am sure they will do everything to secure Haaland's signature. Now, it is the chance for Real Madrid to ensure Haaland and Dortmund management, they should plan to offer a higher price + bigger salary. It won't be a problem as long as Haaland wants to move to Real Madrid. Real Madrid management often spends extraordinary money to recruit any player they want.

Until now, speculation about Erling Halland has still not found a bright spot, Erling Halland is also reported to have rejected the proposal from Manchester United, Erling Halland has also rejected Barcelona, lastly Halland has also rejected the proposal from Manchester City, now only Real Madrid are still surviving. and Halland has not given any answer, in my personal opinion, Real Madrid is indeed suitable to be used as a Halland port next season, because Real Madrid will definitely give Erling Halland a fantastic salary.

Pogba is an exceptional but he have  underperforming for United over 5 years but for his national team, he is a beast. So, I guess some coaches will take the risk that maybe United is the problem not Pogba because obviously, he is always great for France and before coming to United, he was the best player at Juventus too.
He is a great player, but his playing character is not suitable for playing in the Premier League so selling him to Juventus at that time was the right choice to save his career even though while playing in Serie A, Pogba was very promising in the Juventus midfield as a driving force for the game.

Manchester United really deserves it if next season they choose to sell Pogba and the money from the sale of Pogba can be used to look at other young players like Ryan Gravenberch from Ajax Amsterdam.

Marco Asensio contract will ended at 2023 but until now he still not interested to extended new contract offered by Madrid although Madrid offering 5 millions euro plus bonus per year but he hasn't yet respond those offers and in the other hand Asensio agent confirmed some of big clubs such as Milan and Arsenal interested to bought Asensio and speculation appears regarding his future that basically he want to see the progress for Mbappe transfer to Madrid and if Mbappe transfer happened then he will decide to leave

I am hearing that Arsenal is quite interested in this player.
But, I think if he is actually waiting for the transfer of Mbappe to Real Madrid, I really don't think that transfer is going to happen right now because the player seems to be staying at PSG, at least that's what I have heard.

I think Arsenal can be a great destination for his future Endeavours.  and the reason why he is not extending his contract is that he is becoming a little homesick, maybe.

Ronaldo cares about competing in the Champions League a lot even now too. And it looks like Manchester United are going to have some trouble about finishing the season in top 4. If they don't make it, I think that he will think of leaving the team seriously. And at that point, maybe PSG would like to intervene and sign him. And Ronaldo wouldn't say no to that I guess. But I don't know how good it can be to have Messi and Ronaldo at the same team. It is doubtful if they can play good together.
In this situation, a lot depends on which person will lead Manchester United as head coach at the end of the season, as well as who will be the head coach at Paris Saint-Germain. Undoubtedly, participation in the Champions League is a priority for Ronaldo and therefore I can hardly imagine that the player will stay at the club if Manchester United cannot get into the Champions League for next season. Another question is that this does not mean a move to Paris Saint-Germain at all, although I think the club bosses also keep this option in mind, given Mbappe's likely departure from the club. As a result, my attitude to this option is such that I am not completely sure of the viability of the duo of Ronaldo and Messi, but I would still really like to see it Grin
The truth is I don't know what I want to happen, on the one hand I would like to see CR7 succeed alongside Manchester United and on the other I would like to see CR7 and Messi playing fairly, it doesn't matter if Mbappé leaves, even if Neymar Jr himself leaves, I want to see those two playing and having a coach like Zinedine Zidane would be something from another world, I know that many also want to see them both playing and to achieve it I think that the scenario can happen even if with Man United it can be achieved and finish Within the first 3 positions, it must be emphasized that a team does not make it just 1 player or 2 or 3, it is a whole team, there are 11 who must make the difference.

^ I know when we talk about Manchester United and Cristiano Ronaldo, there is a certain emotion working.

But, I think Ronaldo has to move on and play for other teams because I don't think with Manchester United he is going to achieve any great things.
At least not now, because there has a lot of great players but still the team is not doing great at all.

And it is surely going to be something to watch Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi play alongside each other.
The greatest rivalries of all time might just turn into the greatest duo of all time. In PSG, at least they are winning the league title.
Well, obviously the competition is not so great but still, they are achieving something.

Paul Pogba is an excellent box to box midfielder, who needs an Ngolo Kante behind him in the midfield, did y'all get to watch the 2018 FIFA World Cup ? Then I'll advise you go take a good look at how Paul Pogba performed although  having issues with Jose Mourinho at that time.
The problem with Paul Pogba is that he is not good defensively, the main reason why Deschamps France national Coach always plays two aggressive and offensive player's behind him, having a good box to box and attacking midfielder in a single player, you can all see he's a utility player.
The thing about Manchester United is that they don't have a defensive midfielder and that has contributed to both Paul Pogba's bashing and Harry Maguire included.
When you watch him play for France, he's a completely different player with everything, his vision, his control of the game is there every game for France. Pogba's abilities are not in doubt and on his day, he is inarguably one of the best midfielders in the world. But he needs a sitter, a devoted and standby defensive midfielder for him to perform because he likes a fairly free role. In France, the key of their succes is N’golo Kante and Paul Pogba. They help each other. N’golo Kante helps Paul Pogba to just focus on attack. While Paul Pogba helps N’golo kante to just focus on the defense and win the ball back. He is not limited on the offensive aspect, his position can change and this depends on the placement and movement of other players around him. Manchester United haven’t addressed this position over the years. When they needed to sign a defensive midfielder, the club went for Jordan Sancho.

I also think that Paul Pogba is a player who shines when he plays aggressively. But in Manchester United, he is not often given the luxury of playing hyper-aggressive. That's what is holding him back in my opinion.

Also, Paul Pogba has one of the best ball controls I have ever seen in football. When he is in form, it seems like the ball is doing exactly what he wants to do. And when he is playing for France, it seems like he is in sync with every player. but it is quite the opposite in Manchester United Huh.

Going back wouldn't be a good idea, he's play mate then Paulo Dybala has set he's eyes on the move for a new club already.
Imagine this move and you expect him to make a move back to juve ?
This i don't think coming through.

It is not like Pogba willingly doesn't want to give his best in Manchester United. It is just how things are. No one can give his best under the present Manchester United. If you were Pogba and by this time you don't know your permanent wing in the pitch will you be happy? Manchester United's problem more from the players.

You are absolutely right that Man United's problems are too many and may not be solved next season. So it's a good move if Pogba finally decides
to leave. Because Pogba feels he will find it difficult to develop if he extends his contract at Man United. After all, Pogba, like other star players,
wants to play in the Champions League. If we look at the current situation, it seems very unlikely that Man United will be in the top 4 this season.
So if Pogba decides to stay he may not play in the Champions League next season, therefore I quite understand why Pogba wants to leave Man United.

~
I don't think about how much price pay by Manchester United to get Pogba from Juventus but he not get good tandem on Manchester United like on Juventus, his position when arriving on Manchester United as holding midfielder different when have impressive performance with Juventus where Paul Pogba as attacking midfielder and always have contribution on created assist or scoring goals. When arriving on Manchester United Pogba always play as defensive midfielder and less contributing how to give assist and creating goal, I think next season he will try new challenge with other club.

When it comes to Pogba's playing position at Juventus, it's different from when Pogba played at Man United. You are absolutely right Pogba at
Juventus plays more as an attacking midfielder, and it is proven that Pogba's performance is better if given the opportunity to help attack.
Meanwhile at Man United, Pogba mostly plays as a defensive midfielder and it seems that Pogba is difficult to play well in that position.
Therefore, while playing for Man United, Pogba had difficulty playing consistently, and Pogba's performance was not as good as when he played
for Juventus. Sometimes good players, if placed in an inappropriate playing position, will play badly. So the coach's job should be to know where
to put his players.

I’ll add one more point to this discussion Pogba felt loved while playing for France, and at Manchester United he felt left out because neither of the managers at Manchester United have know how to use him properly. Furthermore I feel that it’s best for him and the club if he leaves, as the club can get new player’s and he can revive his career elsewhere.
