I believe that it is a bit about Rudiger wanting more money and United could afford to pay him a bit more. Real definitely needs good defenders as well so I would assume that they could pay up too. I do not know which one he will end up going, but both teams will pay a good fee to get him.However, the Maguire thing is a bit different, he is the captain of the team but the captain title could be given to anyone, it is as easy as just saying you are off the team and that's it. He has been lackluster for the past 2 seasons if you ask me, sure he is a great passer, but his pace dropped significantly and he is having hard time catching defenders. Which is why I believe he may not be captain next season and United could be looking for another defender that can replace him.
