If we talking about England this team was never lack of talented players and every generations this team always be produce plenty of young talented players but England have one big problem that they have had for decades that everytime playing at big tournaments such as World Cup or Euro cup England was never able to performing well and it proven from their achievement because last time England gets the trophy from major competition on world cup 1966 but since that year England always be failed to gets the trophies
In my opinion, the England national team have 3 major problems.
The first is, that English managers are not that good. An English manager has never won the premier league. I think they need to try a manager from another country if Pride would let them do that. It's not compulsory they must go with an English manager for the national team. I know there would be an uproar and they won't support him, but he might be able to turn things around if given the opportunity.
Secondly, English players are not that good. Don't get me wrong, they're good, but they're overrated. Once an English player shines for a season, the whole of England and the English media treat him as the best thing after Lionel Messi. This puts a lot of unnecessary expectations on the young lad which he won't be able to deliver. Dele Ali was a victim of this. Jesse Lingard was also a victim. Sancho was one too. I can go on and on. Bellingham might be on that list too. I said this because I don't see Bellingham replicating his last season's form again. After all, with the arrival of Mbappe, he'll be forced to play behind the striker and that would mean fewer goals. He's not a very creative player but he makes up for it by being a workhorse. He can go from box to box, making tackles and intercepting plays. The media has made him that goal scorer, so when he doesn't score I hope that same media doesn't tear him apart.
Every year England goes into a tournament and acts like every other player is inferior to their players. Before the Euro final, Sky Sports made a combined 11 between England and Spain and they included only 2 Spanish players. I don't know if they're being narcissistic or having a main character syndrome or they just simply do not watch other teams play. We all saw how England were outplayed by the so much inferior team.
Thirdly, I feel the past players and legends of England put so much negativity on the current players. They're like parents who failed to achieve something so they force their kids to live their dreams instead of allowing the kid to follow their own dreams. They say so much negative things about the players instead of giving them support. Look at how players like Xavi, Iniesta, Villa etc all supported the young lads of Spain all through the tournament. This gives confidence to players instead of bad-mouthing them and taking their confidence away.
