I remember some time back a guy here made a similar transaction. He was told to contact the pool than included the transaction in their mined block. Don't remember how this ended though, maybe someone that does could link the topic.

Yeah I remember that post, though I can't find it. The guy did manage to get his coins back after contacting the pool, IIRC.

Well first off this isn't 'for laugh'. There are 2 possible scenarios:
1) He made a mistake; He needs help getting his money back.
2) He did it on purpose thus he is a 'Good Guy'.

of course it is funny Smiley and of course he made mistake Smiley no matter how rich you are, you wont be sending 0.0001 with 2 btc fee, u will prolly give that 2 btc away to someone else
Okay then if it is funny, you do it too, so that we can laugh even more.

This isn't funny at all imo, most likely he/she sent the amount as 2 BTC and 0.0001 and made a mistake...  Undecided

Guy just make donation in a way he can to BTC network. In any case he is real BTC hero - not any one will make such a payment with 2 BTC fee  Grin

Donating to for-profit miners? Ok.

He got refund.

And today somehow I managed to send a no fee transaction by mistake, and it already got 4 confirmations.

Hope I get the other 2 in less than a month

Hahhaha everyone in here thinking he is some kind of Bitcoin hero and it was actually the worst mistake of his life.

Glad he was able to get it back though  Cheesy

This must have been a mistake, just today I was trying to send some btc and electrum kept showing some error(don't remember what exactly) and I checked to see what was wrong and I was trying to enter the amount in comment field. So, it happens, but wallets should have a warning for high fees too, same as they have for low fees.

Huh How can the fee rise up too much like that ? Isn't it has limitation ?

On certain clients, you decide how much you want to pay for a fee.
You can even pay no fee at all, but this would result in a transaction that would be accepted on a block only weeks later.
