Is there anyone that have bought a stuff from this user?

Hopefully not. He hasn't logged in since this was posted. I doubt he'll log back in.

Its a scam, all the images posted were stolen from elsewhere and photoshopped with his username.

Whoa! At first I assumed he just photoshopped his nickname but he posted like 10 photos and looks like the photos might be real.

But either way deal seems to good to be true.
I think the nickname was photoshopped *cough* edited (Can't always blame Photoshop, they not the only one image editor)
The first picture alreade make it obvious, and the others image has something different on the reflection imo

scam Roll Eyes

He did in fact edid the images with photoshop and it's visible through the exif...

70% off any electronic item that is sealed and new is too good to be true. Glad the community thwarted this guy's attempt and hopefully no one got suckered into it

The pictures look almost believable but obviously they're not. If we asked for a video of the products or an up to date time stamp we wouldn't get one. Somebody from default should neg trust this guy.

Its yet another attempted scam with Apple products.

Most recent scams have offered to use escrow because they know if they don't the 'scam police' will be demanding it and also they might get lucky if someone doesn't use it.

This is exactly how they operate. They know people will be skeptical so offer escrow but will do their best to get out of using it or just hope some naive newb will just get greedy and send them the money without using one. Always remember if it looks too good to be true then it probably is, so don't get greedy or you'll pay the price for it.

High-resolution scans could easily detect whether or not a product is fake. It's easy to make a fake product. It's much more difficult to do it well.

But those images that hedgy posted pretty much seals it. Grin

I'm curious to know how this scam actually works though since the OP said he was willing to use escrow. The escrow provider he suggested (Escrow.com) is actually a reputable one too (link). Does the scam only work if the buyer doesn't use escrow?

The question is if they are Chinese (fake) clones.

Escrow sounds good, however, how can the escrow decide whose claim is right when making a picture of the clone may not tell much?
But this may be something easy, I don't know.

Every single image that he has posted is edited with Image edited with Adobe Photoshop CS6 on a windows machine.

Just checked through http://imageedited.com/

OP wouldn't post edited images if he owned the product he was selling would he? Probably thinks he's smart but doesn't even know what exif is.

To potential buyers: only trust this guy if he uses real escrow, from what it seems, it's very likely that he will try to extort you.

the goods in the photo arnt at the same resolution as the paper in any of the photos

If you take a quick search of the photos on Google, you'll notice that there are various other resolutions of the image with different names of the pieces of paper. Some don't even have the pieces of paper, but that can also be covered up with the clone tool in photoshop.

If you want to build a reputation how about you ship me one macbook pro [latest model] (any size) and I will pay you once I received the item?

(I'll be using a forwarding address though)

As you can see I have tons of trust rating here so you don't need to worry about getting scammed... Smiley
