I changed it to just one NFT now: https://opensea.io/assets/0x495f947276749ce646f68ac8c248420045cb7b5e/65296535135049096320155976335774845627297532954576984939387059871066833813505

Sorry for the confusion

Yes, buyers would need to trust me to deliver it when requested

My NFT is redeamable for the actual paper. That is the difference. Only one copy is for sale
Unless I am reading the block explorer incorrectly, there are 4 NFTs available.

Ignoring the above, any purchaser would need to trust that you will actually honor any redemption of the NFT. I am not sure this is a foregone conclusion for any counterparty and trust would be required.

You can make an offer if you think the price is too high
OK, but you didn't reply to my previous question, if you already sold this newspaper how can you make this NFT version redeemable?

Yes, I have sold. Now I am experimenting with this NFT route, where I custody a copy and deliver on redemption.
So you said that you sold the actual Times newspaper, but you are still selling NFT version that is redeamable for actual hard paper copy.
That means you had multiple copies of same newspaper or what?

Way overpriced btw, and much more expensive than original newspaper price of 10 BTC.

So the price is 600 ETH for the NFT and comes with a free original ‘satoshi’ Times newspaper ?

It does not come with the paper, you can send the token back to me to redeem for the paper. You can bid less than 600ETH if you like

It looks like there are 4 copies for sale. Do you actually have 4 copies of the newspaper?

Being that anyone can download an image of the newspaper, what would stop someone from selling an identical image as a NFT, and how would it be different than what you are selling?

Food for though... how hard would be for someone to plagiarize that exact newspaper and make several copies, and how to verify it is genuine?
My guess is not very difficult. My understanding is newspapers are printed locally, and one printing location will print multiple newspapers, such as the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the Washington Post, and the local newspaper.

A quick google search found newspaper paper available to the public, and I would not be surprised if a printer could be cheaply procured that is capable of printing a realistic copy of a particular edition provided you have the content that needs to be printed.

Just seeing this now. Yeah, how would you authenticate it... Interesting / cool this physical piece pops up in these days of NFT madness.

The idea of having something unique like this newspaper is interesting, but I think the price is absurd, that is equivalent to half a million dollars 😳

What a relic. 10 BTC might sound ridiculous, but that piece of paper is priceless. For someone, it is not worth $100, while someone is ready to give millions for it. Reminds me of the case with the overly attached girlfriend meme.

Yeah this one of those items that are tough to price.  It goes up and down with interest.  And the biggest xfactor is mintage in circulation.  No one can put their finger on a good number of how many are truly out there.  Good luck op I hope you get your price

Interesting item, but I wonder in what condition paper is and how is he keeping it because it can degrade a lot if not kept properly.

Very true.  If given enough financial incentive (and this piece does) anything can and will be counterfeited.  The only question is how good would it be?  OP good luck with your sale but I think the days of asking 10 bitcoin for this piece is over.  Either way I'd love to see you sell it for that Smiley

That's an interesting question you could ask the publisher, the owner, or the editor of the newspaper. Do their lasers, printing plates or printing presses leave any signs that could be used as fingerprints (either intentionally or innately due to the type of gear used)? Is if it difficult to source the exact type of paper that has been used?
