I used to have myetherwallet adress and i never list the password of myetherwallet in my notepad, only the eth account adress and the private keys which i think this are only the important to save.
My question is?
Is myetherwallet password is important when i need it to exchange my rewards into fiat?or only the eth account and private keys?
Hope you mates can help me clear this out.

You could easily use your private keys to login and do whatever transactions you wanted. The password we create during registration of a new eth wallet is used to generate Your private keys. Private keys is another way is used to unlock wallet.

Password is not more important than private key. For myether wallet no need password and all. You should have your private key safely to exchange. So don't bother about password

you will need your pass if your keys are encripted, and they should for sure be encrypted particularly if you have decided to save these to a file and place it in the cloud or similar.

If you lose them you can no longer access the wallet so they are as importan as your money you must have known it, but if you lost them on computer you may find them as well.

As I understood, he lost only password, not private key. With pk you can manage your assets without any problems, so everything is okay.

your pc is not enough, perhaps prepare a backup for example
a USB.

Do you mean private key and not password? If you mean private key, then I hope you do not have any coins in there, if not, this is me telling you sorry, cos I think you might have lost them. I don't think that there is any other way that your private key can be retrieved, this is why it is always advise to be kept somewhere safe, and secured, but easily accessible.

I'm sorry, but I think that there's nothing to be done, you need to either look for a key and password or forget about this purse. I think that this is the main rule of every Holder who holds tokens, he must take care of the keys and passwords.

Password is not required actually. It requires private key only in order to have access to your wallet and send fund. However, in case you face any problem, you can download metamask and import your wallet.

Ah, this is bad. I guess you meant your private ket by the way, cos that's what Myetherwallet uses, not passwords. You should check thoroughly for it. Maybe check your files, or any where that you keep information like that. Hopefully you get to find it, otherwise I'm sorry to say, but you have lost access to that account cos there is no way it can be retrieved.

Maybe you are confused what is the use of that password when you created your myetherwallet address. That password is useful when you will open your address via JSON file. It is more safe to open an address via JSON and your password than opening an address through private keys. Either of the two can still open you etherwallet address when you want to transfer your tokens to an exchange.
[/quote]

Neither of private key and json file with password is safe enough on the MEW platform. But, relatively speaking the pair of json file and password is safer because it requires 2 seperate variables. In other words a hacker who gains access to your password can do nothing without the json file, but with the private key alone the hacker can steal from your wallet.

In as much as your password is important in the MyEtherwallet ecosystem, especially when you loose your private key, the two most important keys when it comes to reward transfers  are the private key and the public key(Address). A loss of private key is detrimental to your business health.

I make hundreds of transactions per month with MEW and you do not need the JSON or password file.  Only the Private key is necessary to access your funds.  Keep this private, safe and backed up.
Password and JSON files is one way of accessing you account or Myetherwallet address. In fact it is safer to use this method than accessing your account via private key. On the hierarchy of option to access an etherwallet address, private keys are the last option as this is not recommended way.

No, you don't need your password anymore when you want to trade your tokens into fiat as long as you have your private key in Myetherwallet. If you are talking about exchange then yes, you really need your password on that particular exchange, you should not lose it.

It is like our pin code for our bank's ATM that we need to remember.  In our wallet case, since it is too long to memorize, we must have a soft copy of the password that only you has the access on it, you could also print it and have it kept safe for emergency use.  Our income depends on our wallet as well.

Don’t worry, though MEW password is important but not more than your private key. You can do all your transaction using your private key. But if you are opening an encrypted wallet, you cannot access your wallet without it.

To make transfers you'll need private key and the address, there is no need for password there. However, if you are trying to access your wallet using a JSON file then you'll definitely need the password. I hope contacting the support will help you with recovering your password though there's a very low possibility of it to happen.

Passwords in MEW are one of the ways to access your wallet other than its private keys but remembering both is ideal but and recommended as losing your private key would means losing your wallet forever. Other than that getting other means of security in your wallet is essential. For instance using metamask to access your MEW to avoid being hacked in exchanges such as etherdelta or using hardware wallets such as ledger is a must.

Forget password with MEW wallet is not too important because the principle when dealing only need to own address and the private key is able to access e-wallet anywhere in the world. So forgetting the MEW password will not matter, just having a private key is enough.

You can opt out to open your wallet via private keys, but be it noted it is not recommended. Specially when you access a phishing website then you are doomed. It is risky to have it that way. Better yet change it to a hardware wallet now, a lot safer than any other wallets now.

If you have pvt keys with you there is nothing to worry.

Password becomes important when you lose your pvt key. Then you will need password and Keystore file to unlock your wallet. I would still suggest you to move your funds to some new mew wallet. So, that you can have access to pass as well. There is nothing wrong in having to options to unlock your wallet when your savings are in it.

It's not a matter of panic to forget about your EtherWallet password as you have your private keys and Json key. It would be possible for you to transfer and withdraw your coins with the key you have. But I will suggest you contact MyetherWallet support center and try to recover your password ASAP as it will make your account safer. You will not lose control over it. you may also transfer your most of the balance if you can't make it.

Etherwallet clearly stated  on its T&C that they do not hold your password and will not provide assistance for password recovery. I think MEW is designed that way to absorb the admin of any responsibility for any loses that may occur to MEW users. So, don't waste your time and energy contacting them.

First question, whats a myetherwallet password??

Your account, your id, your password, everything is your private key, if you are talking about your JSON file password, till the time you have your private keys there is nothing to worry about, you can redownload JSON file and allocate a password.

The most important keys that you have to save is the private keys and the public address. In myether wallet the password is not neccessary to transfer your funds or convert your eth to usd and send some eth to ther wallets address. So you don’t have to worry that you forgot your eth wallet it is not neccessary.

Private keys are more important. I don't think that you will forgotten your password, password is needed if we will need to log in in our myetherwallet address which I think is also important but the most important in myetherwallet is the private keys because will not able to access your wallet anymore.

The password is needed only for accessing your account. But, if you have your private key secure and you remember your address you can make transactions anytime. But, make sure to store your private key somewhere safe. If you lose it, then nothing can help you. However, the password is only important if you are accessing your wallet through JSON File.

Private key is good enough to get the job done. This is something which you need to store safely(Cloud storage servers preferably) in order to make sure that you don't lose it at any point in the future helping you secure your funds. Don't worry about passwords. The private key alone gives you access to everything you need including your Ethereum address. Metamask is another security measure which I recommend.

Without your password, you will be unable to perform any operations on your MyEtherWallet. The Private key is your backup and recovery tool because if your seed file is lost or corrupted you can recreate from that. You would need to create a brand new wallet and start again by importing.

I am really not surprised to hear this because many people have asked this kind question, the password you created during the opening process of MyEtherwallet is not as relevant as the public key and the private key because it's not used when you want to transfer your tokens, so don't be afraid. It might be relevant when you loose the public and private keys.

The PRIVATE KEY gains full access to your wallet without any password-protection just like the RECOVERY PHRASE (if created).
The KEYSTORE-FILE is your encrypted private key and an additional password is needed to unlock your wallet.

For safety reasons I'd recommend creating a new keystore-file (choose a secure password and don't forget it) and keeping your unencrypted private-key (and recovery phrase) isolated from the internet (write it down on paper and store it somewhere you won't lose it and nobody else got access).

You could even get more security by buying a hardware-wallet (e.g. Ledger Nano S, Trezor, ...) or doing offline-transactions as alternative.

I think your question is whether your mew password is important and yes it is. You will need it to open your account when you want to deal on your coin to assure that you are the owner of the address. Sorry if you have lost it.

Nope, you can access your account directly by private key when you want to send out some ETH from your wallet.
But it's not recommended to do it due to safety of your wallet

Password is not more important than private key. For myether wallet no need password and all. You should have your private key safely to exchange. So don't bother about password

Refrain yourself from worrying mate. Although MEW password were imperative but it is quite not that too important. As long as you have both the private keys and account address secured, you are good to transact anytime you wish. Be positively sure to have a copy, not only one but two of those very important datas. Those were your life in the crypto world.

AFAIK you don't need any password if you are importing a wallet via privatekey. Perhaps you are opening your wallet with a Keystore / JSON File?

Your password is ofcourse important if you are opening an encrypted wallet like what I mentioned via Keystore / JSON File. You will not be able to access your wallet without it. As for trading your coins with fiat, it will not require you to input your password when transferring your coins to an exchange. Just enough coins and eth to cover for the gas fee.

The private keys is the most important, it mustn't get to the hand of 2nd party even your biological brother if you choose. So to change your eth to fiat, then you need to login to your myetherwallet with your private key so as to send the eth to whoever's buying from you in exchange with fiat.
