The fact is that the Bitcoin ecosystem is predominately male territory, and the fact that the only aspect that was geared towards women was the now defunct "Girls Gone Bitcoin" only served to reinforce a particular stereotype in the community.
While I have nothing against that - it's a free market - I do feel that as the leading Bitcoin forum on the web BitcoinTalk could set an example by creating a new subforum as a place for real Bitcoin related discussion between women on topics that are relevant to them.
Speaking for myself as a man trying to encourage his wife to get into Bitcoin - it would be great if there was a place I could tell her to visit and find out she wouldn't be alone, and try to break through some of those stereotypes that we all agree are going to be barriers to mass adoption in the long run.
Any chance of this happening? I can only see this as a positive, perhaps there is a female leader in the forums already who would like to take ownership and moderate this?
Thoughts/discussion people?
1. Bitcoin ignorant people should have a forum (not the newbie jail), because they wouldn't be alone
2. Female bitcoiners (not ignorant) don't need a special forum, or find an example of thread that would suit in it
PS: I don't use the word 'ignorant' as negative. (translation matters)
