LOL, I thought I was the only one who can't access bitcointalk. I was not able to login until then this morning (+8), I tried last night maybe 6 PM or something but I get the same 502 Bad Gateway Ngix Error.

When you are in doubt, try this site
http://www.isitdownrightnow.com/bitcointalk.org.html

I checked it out, found out that bitcointalk.org was down for the last few hours, and moved on.  Smiley

If there is a major issue, then sometimes it is tweeted out here
https://twitter.com/bitcointalk

Its not always that useful as bitcointalk is unusual in the sense that it has one server location. The majority of places use something like cloudflare to make regional nodes.

I`ts back now, but its very strange.

As price starts to takeoff:  Kraken DDOS, Bitcointalk DDOS.

There is some conspiracy here....  Angry
Hmmm, was it really a ddos?
If yes, why would people do a ddos attack to bitcointalk?

It looked like it, with all the 502 bad gateway errors.

I think there is a huge conspiracy here, and many pump and dump scammers try to manipulate BTC price.
How can you scam with pumping and dumping?
Also if u wanted to manipulate btc price then u should ddos all exchanges and sites like preev.

No, just someone writing without reading.

There was a problem on the server causing this. I fixed it.

I had 502 Bad Gateway error  problem today also. That started aroun 13 and ended aroun 17. I did get in few times after longer loading, but when i click something same error appears. I hope everything will be good in future until now everything worked nicely.
It was apparantly a server issue. It is solved though Smiley
I hope the error won't come back.

You're definitely not the only one cuz its on the server side so all users were affected.

Its kinda annoying getting that error and it took me 502 refreshes just to get rid of this error a while ago Grin I'm glad its quite fine now

What does it even mean? Bad gateway?
Also sometimes i get it and then after 20 times reloading, I am on bitcointalk.org. A few seconds later i get the error again.
The 502 Bad Gateway error is an HTTP status code that means that one server received an invalid response from another server.
So bitcointalk.org runs on multiple servers? If they would make one big server, it has less chance to get this error or doesnt it work this way?

It's called load balancing. This is a really high-traffic website.

Btw, thanks for fixing this relatively quick!

FWIW, I got about three or four 502 bad gateway errors when trying to use the forum just 20 minutes ago.  I don't know anything about why that's happening, but wanted to add my report to the others in this thread.
