Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, the world’s second-richest man has second thoughts over cryptocurrency. The wealthiest man alluded that the features of cryptocurrency and its ilk is super risky.

Even the Microsoft Corp. as a blue chip stock is volatile in itself. So tell me about this faulty logic.

Rather than not speaking out about the negatives though, I would prefer people don't speak out about issues they don't know about; something Bill Gates did in this case.

In most cases they are being asked for their opinion on various matters, which basically forces them to at least say something, and when they don't really care about a certain subject (which is the case when it comes to Bill Gates and crypto), they mostly come up with terms that the crypto community gets nuts over. People need to look at the context of his words, and not directly jump on him like he said something horrible. Could he have used a different tone and wording? Sure, but who care anyway? Bill Gates by far doesn't come close to what sort of baboon Warren Buffett is, because this fastfood addict takes everything to the next level, and actually attacks Bitcoin, which is something Bill Gates didn't do, and likely won't do later on.

This. You've got would-be journalists crawling all over the place, working hard to meet their daily quotas for stories and using the reputations of these guys to push a lead through to editors. I know this because I used to be in that position!

Take all these stories and interviews at mere face value. Context is everything here, and anything can be quoted out of place to be massaged into the writer/editor's point of view.

I wouldn't/shouldn't be surprised if Gates does think like this though. He built his empire on a monopoly he deliberately wanted, he created dependency to force market success. Bitcoin's idealogy simply doesn't allow for that.

Hello everyone. I also doubted for two years that I would get an investment. I thought it was not mine at all, but I doubted it and still took a chance. Now I get profit monthly because I have my own manager who recommends me a project for investing

Again this "news"? Following his logic any currency kills, no matter if its FIAT or Crypto or some other kind as all currencies can be used to buy stuff.

For me I don't care about his opinion, as long as cryptocurrency adoption is rolling, he is a businessman and he might have other business that is being harmed because of the popularity of Bitcoin, so let him say what he wants to say and I don't care.

"No risk no gain" we can't do anything without risk. May be Bill gats project is risky. But he is very rich and popular person today's world. Microsoft company built by him. It's just a warning on the dangers of cryptocurrency. I hope we should be know about the risk.

Bill Gates is just stating what all of us already knew.  It's just a warning on the dangers of cryptocurrency, if not regulated.
Correct, Bill Gates is just giving his opinion about cryptocurrency. Right from the start, as an investor you should be aware about the advantages and disadvantages of bitcoin before investing on it. Bill Gates is right but i think there are more positive views and opinions about bitcoin than negative views.
That's right, but he, as an educated, intelligent person who has achieved a lot, could say that there are advantages of crypto currency, not only that they are used in the criminal world, money laundering, etc.

I will take his comment as a warning to dangers around us that could reach us. On the other hand, his comment doesn't mean much to me. We have everywhere bad things. Maybe it's easier to pay for the crime with crypto, but before crypto, the easiest way was with dollars, so if we need to bring down crypto because of that we will bring the dollar down too. So I have other things to do then going back to history.

We recommend that every issue be addressed with caution. Do not be used as a source of news that makes the situation panic.
The statement of bill gates is not wrong, and this can be used as a warning for beginners to invest Bitcoin and other crypto assets

Microsoft has been feeding the US government with information for years. Why would they suddenly support a technology

that are for the most part, anti-governments? The governments contracts for Microsoft products over the years have mostly

contributed to his wealth. I did not expect any other kind of response from him.  Roll Eyes The reason are also stupid, because most

of those things could have been done with cash too.  Angry

Bill gates comments on crypto-currency are in correct I know that his point of view is somewhat legit but still his comment shows that he's not so much knowledgeable about the subject in detail. Yeah, crypto-currencies have been used by criminals as well, but that doesn't mean that the only usage of such digital currencies is limited to crime or drugs.

However, in some sense I agree with his logic about the fluctuations in the rates of Bitcoin and other crypto-currencies, as those might not be favorable for very poor people, but those people should invest only what they can lose.

I personally don't consider Buffett's comments as a direct attack. His track record speaks for itself, and I'd say his "gut feel" is at least worth something. Still, he did concede that he basically knows nothing about the subject, which is basically a disclaimer not to take him seriously. To each his own, I guess. It's not like comments from big shots matter anyway, unless they actually start putting their money where their mouth is.

If I think all jobs have a risk. But what is said bill gates is not wrong, because the risk to play in cryptocurrency is very high. So every individual should be able to take the right decisions and can accept the worst risk in case of failure.

I do not quite understand the whole point of the article, and that she should inform that Bill Gates is changing his mind about crypto currency? The last statement that he links crypto-currencies to terrorism and criminals is not encouraging at all.

I do not agree with his reasons. He should have at least kept his first thoughts of Bitcoin being better than a currency and exciting because it is cheap, but this second thought and the reason he gave with the purchase of drug with bitcoin is an insubstantial reason.

Drug has been existing way long before cryptocurrency, so what makes it different and why pin it on cryptocurrency like it is the starting point to the cause of danger to the society or 'death' like he so called it. He should come up with a better reason why it is super risky and the only one I see here is the huge volatility, and if anyone is dying because of that, it is as a result of their ignorance and greed.

yes, completely I agree with you
again and again bad news about crypto, this is a regular thing and has happened continuously. there is nothing to be afraid of with this sort of thing, I agree with you. Behind all the major risks is volatility.
and greed that makes people sick
