Airdrops are in my opinion not good for a coin. Although a lot of people think its good for exposure i think in the long run its bad for the coins price. A lot of people lately just hunt airdrops to make a quick buck and that ultimately contributes to the coins price being driven down slowly.

As we all know airdrops only give a small amount of money reward to the participant,be careful of what they are saying that they give a lot of money.

Be careful with airdrop. Many new people do not know and accidentally join the rogue airdrop. They lose their information and money, so be careful before joining any airdrop. Airdrop is not bad but be careful.

I think you just need to be smart and keep your data safe.Never give out your private key for Airdrops...
You can use a Hardware wallet such as the Trezor or Ledger which interacts with the MyEtherWallet website, this is the safest way to store your cryptocurrency as your private keys are never exposed to your own computer which means even if you are infected with a virus or malware, they are unable to steal your keys.

Given low success ratio and high risk of spam of airdrops, I am more inclined towards bounty campaigns, although now I am participarting in both.

Anyway, such airdrops for tokens already listed on Coinmarketcap are very promising, and I usually do not want to overlook.

I think you are having some misunderstanding about the concept of airdrop/bounties. There are some people who are earning good amount of money from airdrops but that doesn't mean that everyone should. The core purpose of airdrops is to allow a certain number of users to test their new tokens and it is not the employment option or even any make money scheme. If you want to earn handsome amount of money then consider other options such as trading or business/freelancing.

Every single airdrop on Twitter that asks you to tag 5-10 "friends" is designed to build a large Telegram group and Twitter accounts to promote other airdrops. they will ask you to join the group and follow their Twitter in order to get 100 $ven Cheesy

After few weeks they just change the name of the account and picture and voila "Airdrop King" "Airdrop Alert" "Airdrop God" is born with 50k followers on Twitter and Telegram.

All they need is Google form and 10 minutes of time.

Yes this was the Corbit Airdrop, even made a really nice website. You will have a few of those, can't get around that. Still plenty of legit airdrops around.

For instance Cappasity and Data are two companies that airdropped this month, which are already listed on coinmarketcap

I some follow Airdrop some new coins, each Airdrop has its own commands and rules. There are even some Airdrops that merely claim the token, until now I still wonder what the benefits of companies from holding such an airdrop.

thank you

To make users aware of the product and same time makes greedy followers to make Panic on exchange and give votes to reach exchange faster ( if team is really dedicated )

Otherwise 99% times i found after 1-2 sale they just ran off.

Yes true, but some airdrops are by companies already listed on coinmarketcap: like Cappasity and Data that we active now.

Or for instance Ontology did an Airdrop for all newsletter subscribers. 1000 ONT. This new project from the creators of NEO is very promising.

With so many Airdrops around and lot of channels spreading crappy Airdrops, I decided to do them all and then filter out, which ones are worthwile.

Most of these airdrops are just crap - especially the telegram ones. They're only interested in swelling up users' base and more often than not, wind up not being worth the signup effort

In a a couple of minutes you have earned some free crypto which could be worth a lot of money in the future. Airdrops like Blue and eBTC are worth 1000's of dollars now.

Let's be careful with what's being said here. These crypto currencies that offer airdrops aren't doing so because they've already established a market place. So saying that tokens received from an airdrop "could" be worth a lot of money is almost a lie. Most will never be worth any money. Very few will be worth some money. And maybe one wil be worth a lot of money. Seriously.

When a development team is giving away their tokens for free it's because they need to generate hype and awareness. Promotion isn't bad, but if you need to give your tokens away for free they probably don't offer a really tangible utility for a marketplace beyond crypto currency speculation. And let's be honest here, the purspose for crypto currencies is not for market speculation, it's to provide utility to a community of people. If speculation is the only benefit of a crypto, it's destined to fail!

Airdrops are not a "nice way" to start earning cryptocurrency. They are more likely to give you a virus than $0.01. Airdrops have plagued this forum with scams, viruses, shitposters and more troubles than we've known what to do with for a long time. I constantly encourage newbies away from these types of things, because if they're interested in making money there are other opportunities. Lauda even has a sticky in this very section that is aimed to point newbies, like yourself, in the proper direction : https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/general-how-to-earn-bitcoins-1629118

Do you think people are more interested in the coin/project or the potential at free money? Do you think anybody participating in these airdrops has any decent understanding of how cryptocurrencies operate or what makes their coin unique and useful?

None of these coins that are spamming Social Media and Bitcointalk are going to have any longevity to them. Most social media platforms have taken stands against these campaigns if I'm not mistaken; they have been banning accounts associated with them. This should tell you about the direction of that niche.
