It is obviously an older video since the DOW was showing around $11k. I believe it is now over $16k.

The huge debt will destroy the US.

Bitcoin user affected (with huge gains in USD value).

Why would a debt denominated is USD destroy the US? I'm not sure I understand that point, if anything they should borrow as much as they can while still maintaining a semblance of credibility. That seems like the rational thing to do unless I'm missing something. Which is quite possible...

when you borrow and can't pay what you borrow back, you lose sovereignty
hence banking dynasties

As long as they can print the money they'll be able to pay it back, they are the ones in control here. As long as people are willing to lend then they are alright. It would take a lot more than the current debt to really have any sort of effect I would think.

The Fed prints money and loans it to the states. the states lose sovereignty because they themselves do not have the ability to print money

Ah, I see your point. I wasn't really thinking about in on a state to federal level. I was thinking more internationally where borrowing from China and such benefits the US in the long run. I guess it's a balancing act and it comes down to having a government competent enough to not screw it up...

The Federal Reserve is not a federal institution, it's a public/private hybrid institution under the illusion it is a government agency. Their policies affect the public though their policy making is decided by the member banks (private). This is not by accident.

Sorry, couldn't find it outside facebook...maybe someone else has a better link.

While listening to every valid point he is making, the only thing I was thinking was "heh, bitcoin..../problem"
Well, you are absolutely correct.  He's frustrated by thinking inside the box with no solution inside the box.

I almost choked on my coffee when the girl sprouted "But America as the Leader of the Free World...."

didn't watch anything but reminds me of The Newsroom's opening scene: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1zqOYBabXmA
though I can't not say that might be some sort of an agenda behind that show

Bitcoin: The People's Bailout
He basically seems to think that the US has to be managed like a family that can go bankrupt and end up selling the house. Many people seems to agree with him.

But the FED has only the necessary independence to do what the state really needs. If the FED had to buy half of the US debt to save the Government, the FED would do it. And if that takes inflation to 10%, so be it, inflation is a good way to erode the debt.

Yes, fiat is great if you want to take on debt or like to live beyond your means.  Accumulate debt in dollars and savings in bitcoins.

So we can all agree he has the courage to go out there and expose both parties, but he isn't really making that much sense.
Maybe I don't quite understand the context, but it seems like he's just taking out his frustration.
All he basically said was that the entire political and economic system is corrupt and incompetent.

Ratigan is like the only one on MSNBC (the liberal channel) that has any sense whatsoever. He's the only one that has been calling it like it is with these bankers and their bleeding of the us currency. Obviously, the Congress and Pres are bought and paid for and that's why you have an establishment ruling class in DC. Campaign finance laws are written to benefit left and right big shots so they can play the system to their advantage. So, to use Ratigan's own words against his point: it doesn't matter what your or my idea is, those who make the rules call the shots and we're left squabbling over the republicans do this or the democrats do that. The ONLY thing that is actually happening for the better right now is Senator Rand Paul (yall can thank me for donating lots of money to his campaign) is trying to remake the GOP in his vision by growing the tent to include the young that want privacy and better jobs, minorities that are busted by mandatory minimums and public schools and getting a libertarian populist message out there that is bullet proof from neocon or prog media demagoguing it to hell like they did his old man. IF he wins then great and I will help with that. If he loses crypto will save those that want to be saved.

The most exciting thing about bit coin for me is that it robs governments of the power to do such nefarious things. It represents freedom from government in a really fundamental way.

That was pretty good.  Thanks Serenitys.

U.S. Presidents are vetted over the course of decades to ensure they would never do anything like what this guy is talking about.

A man does not become POTUS who poses any risk to the trans-national banks.

You don't "fix" a house that is fully engulfed in flames and burning to the ground.  You escape and wait to rebuild.  The time for "fixing" was when the pan of grease on the stove first caught fire.  That window of opportunity closed a looooong time ago.
