Ok, I am not the only one for which the mining option has disappeared. The idea is interesting, but the rewards were very low...
@wetsuit or myfe: will this feature come back or not ?
Anyway you have set a trend for this browser mining, because right now many other websites are offering this service  Smiley
really ? i never see a faucet with include mining web and also giving people with big reward  Undecided
can you tell me what faucet did you use ?

Moonbit.co.in and coinpot microwallet now propose browser mining as well, not for a big reward though, but idea is the same : a few satoshi/dogecoin/litoshi for your cpu power.

Besides moonbit.co.in, also faucethub offers this mining services and several other faucets (check the micro earning sections in the forum, you will find many new sites which offer browser mining). Rewards are not big though.

All these faucet earnings and browser mining are for the beginners and you should slowly learn other means to earn better either by joining any signature campaign or sell your services for bitcoins or by trading. I also initially started with the faucet but never spend more time on mining so far because in my country electricity charges are very high so it is not worth spending time on mining.

I agree with you. Faucets are a good way to start and learn about bitcoins, but you can get higher rewards by joining signature or social media campaigns on this forum. Nevertheless the earnings on faucets are low, from time to time, I like doing this, it is a form of relaxation for me Smiley

The first decentralized crypto betting platform

I had seen this and that's when I came to know the bcg and segwit2x fork would happen, this site truly stands out, that it gives users options before hand only, even last time when bcc was given it gave us a chance to convert it to btc, I do hope it continues to keep btc foremost as other alts don't last long, though they will keep both, I just hope users are smart to hold on to btc, also if possible could you specify say I put half a btc just prior to the fork and I get money equal to the bcg, can I reconvert it to btc and what interest would I get btc or bcg? I am sure many would like to know.

For bitcoin cash back in august, freebitco.in gave each user same amount of BCH as the BTC balance at the time of the fork. We then had the possibility to convert those BCH into BCT added to our balance.
I hope they'll do the same for the two upcoming forks (at least the segwit2x one that seems more viable), but i don't think they can now tell the conversion rate between the newly created bitcoin and the older one.

Not only that, they were very fast in allow users to cash in, I think it was in just two days after the fork. Some exchanges, like cryptonator, did the same as freebitco.in but a month after them. I also read people saying in forums that they had to withdraw their btc to hard wallets to be able to cash bitcoin cash because their exchanges wouldn’t support the fork.

I trust them to act in such a professional way in the following forks.

Hard Fork Policy Announcement

We've posted comments about how we plan to handle the upcoming Bitcoin Gold and Segwit 2x hard forks. You can find a hot link with this information on nearly every menu of the freebitco.in site.

Quote from: FreeBitco.in HARD FORK POLICY
Bitcoin has 2 hard forks planned in the near future - "Bitcoin Gold" and "Bitcoin Segwit 2x". As we have done with the "Bitcoin Cash" hard fork in the past, we shall support withdrawals of all hard fork coins as long as they are viable - ie. have wallet support, a working blockchain and straightforward redemption policies.

The "Bitcoin Gold" hard fork currently does not seem to be a viable fork - since they have not given any information about the fork on their website (btcgpu.org) and have no supported wallets yet. If there are no wallets that support it, we shall not be able to make "Bitcoin Gold" available for withdrawals. If however, there is wallet support for "Bitcoin Gold" before the hard fork date and the block number for the fork is announced in advance, we shall make it available for withdrawal.

We shall be supporting the "Bitcoin Segwit 2x" fork since it already has a working wallet and has announced the block number when the hard fork will happen. If a majority of miners switch to "Bitcoin Segwit 2x" and it has the chain with the most Proof-of-Work, we shall make it our primary coin and "Bitcoin Core" coins will be made available for withdrawal to your own wallets, otherwise "Bitcoin Core" shall remain our primary coin and "Bitcoin Segwit 2x" coins will be made available for withdrawal to your own wallets. In either case, users will receive coins in both the majority and minority chain equivalent to the balance that they had on the website prior to the hard fork.

We shall be pausing deposits and withdrawals temporarily before the "Bitcoin Segwit 2x" hard fork until a clear winner has emerged. Everything else on the website will function as usual. The fork is scheduled to happen at around the middle of November. We shall give advance notice of when deposits and withdrawals will be paused before the fork date.

Any questions? You know where to shout!

I like this open minded approach to this whole fork debacle. If you support the chain/coin that the community support the most and still make options available for the minority chain, people will respect your service. You should leave the choice to the majority of the customers or users that use a specific chain/fork. < Do not make the choice for them, like Xapo and other are doing, because this will anger a lot of users and they will stop using your service. >

Will you consider switching to Bitcoin Gold mining for browser mining, if all the tools are supplied by their developers? Or even one of the other Alt coins that are ASIC resistant?

Rewards were very low because many other miners are out there mining with big machines and actually your computer/laptop couldn't mine anything at current level of difficulty. I don't think idea of browser mining will be sustainable and will be a trend in future like you have speculated.  Grin
And even if it would be profitable, a JavaScript miner would not be as efficient as a normal software miner.

Mining isn't worth it unless you have free electricity for the devices you mine with.

the only thing mining brings me is a lot of noise.  Cheesy

I don't want to run my PC for so long to get a few coins instead I will do a trading to earn those coins faster.

Will users be mining Bitcoin Gold via Freebitco.in soon? I see it is ASIC resistant, so it is ideally suited to be mined by CPU/GPU's. The profits might be a little more, if you mine a coin that are ASIC resistant with a much lower difficulty at the start?

I presume the current browser mining is not actually Bitcoin mining, but some Alt coin or Cloud mining that are done, with a Bitcoin reward?

We have some interesting times ahead of us with all of these forks and new technologies. Crypto currencies is the place to be!
Lol fork hasn't happened yet! who knows it'll be profitable or not. profitability will depend on value of bitcoin gold, difficulty. probably won't be profitable for CPU miners. Tongue

I enter correct 2FA code but it say. It was incorrect. Why??
Check if your time is correct/synced.

You are wrong, Bitcoin Gold is ASIC resistant, so it will be mined with CPU/GPU's and this will be better for "Browser mining" type operations. Yes, I know it has not forked yet, but there is no harm in asking, if Freebitco.in is considering it as a possible alternative to be mined. Ethereum and ZCash use the same algorithm as Bitcoin Gold, so it might be profitable now to mine that with a browser, instead of Bitcoin mining.

If you want people to mine something, why not chose something that might be more profitable for them?

could you tell me why the faucet rates is going down again
The rate of the faucet follow bitcoin price when the price rise sure they will decrease the price, that's why some of us keep the balance above from minimal withdraw. You've benefit by do this method, like when the price rise you can withdraw then automatically your income rise too.
It is normal with the bitcoin value. Once the value increases, the equivalent to dollar increases and you get that equivalent. That is the way it has been fashioned out. If you have been on the freebitco.in faucet for a while, you would have known it started giving out way more than that far back as 2013. And it will keep reducing until apparently even 1 satoshi is no longer a small amount to give out anymore.
