The current prize pool is 0.05 BTC and 1% of the total money has been put on 25,001-26,000 range. This means that only 0.0005 BTC has been put on that range.
If you put 0.01 BTC on that outcome, you increase the total prize pool by 20% and increase the money put on that outcome 21 times. This will make the odds for the outcome in question about 17.5 times lower.

It's true that freebitco is using parimutuel betting system. But there's an additional factor affecting your prize too.
The prize you win depends on Time Weight Multiplier as well.

Assuming two users have put a same amount on the wining outcome, the user who placed the bet earlier will be awarded a bigger share of the prize pool.

You are missing the main fact here. Freebitco use parimutuel betting feature. Your winning amount will depend on the final odds and total prize pool, it doesn't matter when you have placed the bet. Current odds will change significantly if you place big bet on that price range. It will be more clear to you if you read the details about Parimutuel betting system
