With the way the world is revolving things are beginig to change either to please or displease us. Most times we are forced and deprived of this our freedom of expression as a result of specific rules implemented by the government and this same set of government we choose them ourselves. All we have to do is to keep mute at some certain levels and stick to the rules given in oder to avoid the penalties of breaking any.
Sometimes we have to compromise our beliefs the way we display them outwardly and preserves the inner self expression to ourselves just to avoid certain punishments

The digital world has changed society's paradigm and people are also required to be able to master technology, but if society's challenges are not ready to accept the changes, they will be affected by negative things because there are no boundaries at all in the digital world, even though there is distance between countries, so there are countries make strict rules to maintain this and freedom of expression also has limits, otherwise it will always be a threat among the wider community

Freedom has to operate within the boundaries of the law. If freedom will violate the law then it should not be practiced.
The law has to be Just/good so that freedom doesn't create problems for the society it's practiced in, and so that freedom to do right is not limited.

Freedom is limited to some certain things in the society or a nation be it in terms of speech, association etc, there are level to which freedom can operate anything  freedom that is going against the norm or policy of the society,  that is why one exercising freedom  must try as much as possible not to go contrary to the government policy that will kick against such freedom to avoid running into danger of the government.

You both are right. Many people talk about freedom of speech and freedom of expression without understanding that there are certain restrictions to how we can express ourselves. Considering how corrupt some leaders can be, you will be saving yourself from serious issues if you take out time to really understand the laws of your country so as to avoid being used as a scapegoat. Many people ignorantly infringe on the rights of others and promote hate speeches on any government they don't like yet they claim it's freedom of expression. While expressing yourself, be sure you are fighting for a just cause that is not influenced my personal sentiments.

What is the meaning of freedom of expression?
Freedom of expression is one of the basic human rights that allows an individual to express his ideas and beliefs freely without infringing on the rights of others or spreading false propaganda and hatred.
This right is guaranteed by the Universal Declaration of Human Rights of 1948 and the Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen of 1789 in France.
BUT
We all know that freedom of expression is very limited in third world countries, and when any statement is hostile to rulers, you put your freedom and life at risk, unlike developed countries, but we have noticed recently the lack of respect for freedom of expression by these countries
Example:
- player suspended and menaced by thier team after showing support to palestine
And the suppression of peaceful Manifestation that support Palestine
- Attacks and threats to people who do not support homosexuality.
Is this considered a suppression of freedom of expression?
Is democracy a dress for dictatorship only?

Freedom of expression is one of the major factors that characterized democartic government .it is one of the fundamental human rights that gives An individual the right To express his or her self sometimes ,it is often called freedom of speech. But in most political Settings where bad governance ia the order of the day ,freedom of speech is neglectwd And sometimes when you Force yourself out To speak the truth they will tag it hate speech because the leader’s have placed some unwanted laws that they Dont want people To speak on especially when they are embezzling government funds.

Moreso, freedom of expression is practiced more in a well developed countries where fundamental human rights are respected And put into consideration . Where the right of the citizens are their major priority And not in a developing country where the leaders are money mongers And has no value for the constitution , they lack Respect for her citizens And considers every of their truth as hate speech .

Freedom of expression is a principle that supports the freedom of an individual or a community to articulate their opinions and ideas without fear of retaliation, censorship, or legal sanction.
This includes political speach, views on religion, opinions and expressions that are favourably received or regarded as inoffensive, but also those that may offend , shock or disturb others.
We have the right to say what we think, share information and demand a better world. We also have the right to agree or disagree with those in power, and to express these opinions in peaceful protests.
Note: exercising these rights without fear or unlawful interference is Central to living in an open and fair society; one in which people can access justice and enjoy their human rights.

When looking at the fundamental human right it’s what makes a country a democratic system where by the state all it citizens to engage in freedoms of speech to be able to voice out.thats why we even have a system where by citizens comes outs to protest and it’s allow.due to freedom of expression and should not be deprived from any citizen in a democratic society.
We could have the freedom to express ourselves but we should always be careful how we go about that.
The laws would always come for us if we uses our mouth to fight people in the wrong way which we don't ought to.
Some in people though there is freedom of speech everywhere and they ended up talking anyhow without evidence which later resulted them to prison for the wrong saying. We need to be wise and know how we compose our words or else we would pay for it.

Freedom of expression is a fundamental right of an individual to express his opinion freely. The right to say what you want do what you want and create what you want without fear of censure by the government for expressing yourself. Rights prevent the government from persecuting you for your expression. It doesn't stop the person from resenting what you're doing. In fact it gives them the right to do so.

Freedom of speech exists for everyone.  Everyone can express their opinion.A man or a nation has the right to say both good and bad.And how to accept it also depends on other people and their psychology.I expressed an opinion but the person in front of me could not accept it he could freely express it.We should respect everyone's opinion.By giving importance to everyone's opinion, we can achieve world peace.Make decisions you don't like and you can express that.

I agree, and all is just a matter of respect. Anyone are free to speak of their own, but see to it that not all people are ready to hear those nor be able to understand what you are trying to say so you may feel you are not being heard or understood.

Social media made it easy for anyone. You can easily make reels, post, or a thread of any issue that you want the masses to be aware of. Being allowed to speak is not suppressed.

It is the ability of other people to open their views is the thing that was suppressed. They are programmed to other views as bad. Most people only listen to news, or people in government position. Yet those people hide facts and truth behind their power.

True, in certain countries, particularly in regions that are developing, the right to free speech is frequently neglected; nevertheless, consider the equilibrium between free expression and the preservation of other rights, such as the right to fairness and equality without discrimination. It's a difficult question, with no simple answer. However, I believe it is an essential matter to think about, particularly given the world's expanding interconnection. In today's international environment, we must find a method to defend everyone's rights, especially the right to free expression.
People have the right to peacefully demonstrate and express their thoughts without fear of punishment, but some argue that certain restrictions are required to preserve the rights of others.

Freedom of expression is the ability of individuals to freely share their thoughts or ideas without fear, and by doing so, it allows us to also learn and grow more in wisdom without feeling intimated, but in our society today, there is no freedom of expression again, whatever feelings we have or want to share, we keep it to ourselves to avoid problems or being beaten or killed, we think twice before saying anything or expressing our feelings because we don't have to say it again, even if we say something or express how we feel in this country, our leaders will continue to do whatever they want, so what is the point of expressing ourselves if it will not bring any positive results?

Anyone can freely express their opinions but they must also be accountable on it.  Moreover, freedom of expression is different from fake news or propaganda spreading.  You cannot state a lie or fake news then spread it somewhere then say that it is freedom of expression.  Note that freedom of expression is bounded by the law of the country you are residing.  Historical revisionism, fake news, slander, and other things about breaking the law cannot be masked by freedom of expression.
Some People abuse the freedom of speech,  because of they have right to say whatever they feel they can just come up with anything.  We need to be very careful and not be carried away by this freedom of speech because their are somethings you say the law won't tolerate with you . Normally 8n many places goverment will tell you their is freedom of speech but their something you say , if it doesn't go well for them they will definitely come for you.

This is what many people are facing at this time, though this has been in existence for a very long time but it is on a rise in political era where a leader decides to do whatever he or she chooses to do without seeking the opinion of any person, the freedom of speech that was common, critics that push the political office holders to perform well in office is no more wanted because they politicians wants to enslave everyone by introducing what the called hate speech, using this method to shut the mouth of people up, so that people will be afraid to air out their views because of the penalties attached, it is only in the western world where freedom of speech is been allowed to an extent but in African countries is no no, to me I think most African countries are not riped for independence, the inhumane character in African leaders is much, we really need sanitization to get it right in Africa.
In a case like this, since our opinions doesn't matter to the authority, till we experience any significant positive changes we just have to stick by the laid rules. Likely said, I don't think we practice democracy as we say we do, every action from the government are not carried out with the aim interest of the citizens instead they want a cut out of the benefits. The voices of the masses are not heard, each time anyone trys to speak his being shut up, how then can we experience a change. We just closely pray and hope in dew time things will change for good.

^^^ The question is, who is one accountable to? After all, maybe the accountability judges are wrong.

So, say it right out. The best basic laws are found in the Bible... particularly Old Testament Exodus and Deuteronomy... and the New Testament writings of St. Paul. And the Judge is God, Himself.

It may be that the loophole in freedom causes many ungodly men to abuse it and use this advantage to argue, I respect all those rights, but that doesn't mean they are always discussed openly. The fact that anyone can say that it is a personal right means that our obligations and responsibilities towards that right have never been easy.

Everyone wants freedom, but they don't understand that no one gives them that freedom that they themselves create, and their obligation to use and contribute to life is always not enough. I always like to be realistic and fair, anyone's thoughts can be created with ignorance, and if that thought is not limited, then chaos is obvious.

For example: If a rebel declares that he wants to destroy the earth, in some ways it is freedom of speech, but we know clearly that it is wrong, so they must be held accountable for those words.

Freedom of speech has always been the right of every citizens, everyone is allowed to express their opinion and thought towards something but now things have changed, we can't speech freely fear of the government, or what if someone is hearing.
In most countries a lot of people get killed just because of their speech against the government, against the society.
So in this case people are force to control their speech most especially the civil servants, government workers cause if they speak bad against the government they'll be sack from their job, so in my opinion the government are responsible when it comes to limitation of speech, cause when everyone keeps fearing the government then they're the issue.

Though I do not completely share the same position as you, I can agree with you say the government or the established powers are those who are mainly responsible for the lack of free speech and responsibly for the punishments against those who want to speak freely about topics which are very sensitive to those same established powers.
One only needs to take a look at countries like Saudi Arabia or even Venezuela.
One could easily end up in prison for either saying something against the Sharia law or against the corrupt politicians from any Republic in decadence.

When those in positions of power start to censor one's speech it may be just the beginning of an escalation towards a more authoritarian way of living.
