That is not surprising. Sociologists were right. Remains under question how is it so in America, Trump has won contrary to the predictions of sociologists. Suspicious.

Because in the US the guys who gets 2 millions less votes wins.

I don't know what kind of french cheese scam they run but in France they have this outrageous rule that whoever gets the most votes wins.
We should do something about this crazy system of theirs.

This is actually still better than the system we have in our country. We don't have run-offs. The current president won with just 38% of the total votes because he got the most votes among the candidates. Freakin stupid system that don't reflect the will of the people.

If Macron doesn't manage to satisfy the majority of french people during his presidency, I'm pretty sure the next elections Le Pen will get even more votes. So the pressure is on him to regain the trust of the french people in politics

You are right.
11 millions of my fellow countrymen voted for Le Pen even if she is racist and dangerous.
But I don't feel like living in a racist country. Especially in Paris, where the immigration is the most important : Macron won with 90% of votes (including mine)...

The problem is that there is no real/strong opposition against liberal politics (=Macron), except Le Pen due to its historical implantation. So, people who disagrees with liberalism don't vote at all or vote for Le Pen, just to show their disappointment.

Fortunately, this happens only during the 1st round of the elections. But it's a dangerous game. The only way to avoid Le Pen is to have a strong alternative. We have 5 years to build it...

PS : sorry if my English is not perfect  Smiley

PS 2 : I don't know if I am the only French guy of this thread ; my words only reflect my opinion.

Sad to see Europe being destroyed from the inside. You're a victim of your success. Liberalism is so deep-rooted in your history it would be impossible to pull out but by continuing on this way, you open yourselves to people who would abuse your values. How many dictators in the past has said Europe would be over run without a fight? Turns out they were all referring to demographic warfare.

I find your post funny. I am sure you must not be residing or a voter in USA. I am not too but I understand how the system works in there as they are using the Electoral College system and it had been there for so many decades and is there for a purpose and that is not to discriminate the voices of the minority. It is a winner takes all kind of game and candidates have to play within that rules and they have been planning things with that rule in mind. Trump is not the first president who won the presidency but lost in the general votes and this had never been an issue in the past...it is only now because the other candidates and her supporters keep on whining.

I don't find your post nor funny nor interesting. More like a 4 lines of nothing.

Another win for the globalists.

I don't know who is the globalist , Macron or Le Pen, a french candidate , member of the EU parliament who was sponsored by  a Russian investment bank through a Czech branch.

Macron's winning is a big tap up for bitcoin and crypto currencies. I read from http://www.reddit.com/r/bitcoin that his is a bitcoin enthusiast and very soon we should expect bitcoin and others crypto currencies to jump up as France is expected to legalized crypto currencies very soon.

Did anyone notice he walked on to the EU anthem at his victory rally and not the French one? That's not exactly an inclusive move for the millions of Le Pen voters.

Was already expected to win, in polls indicated that he would win with that percentage.

Now, what can he do? Will he do better things? We'll know that in the coming months. You should never believe in politicians.
He will blindly keep the borders open and possibly invite more rapefugees to France. He'll dance to Merkel's music and spew hate on countries that want to stop the islamization of Europe. It's gonna get messy, I'd be worried if I cared. I just wonder if the attacks and murders will escalate to the point of civil war during his reign or after.

Glad Macron won, was expected.

Interested to see what will happen to the EU as it is currently. Will Macron try to use his power of changing the EU (and threatening with a Frexit otherwise) or will he follow the rest and do nothing about it.

Macron's win won't save EU from splitting up. Forex markets favored the results and EUR/USD is already up around %0.02 but this and tomorrow's pump actually is a one time chance for you to dump your overpriced Euro's.

Electing Macron won't solve any of the existing problems at all. Migrant crisis is still there, dead economies like Greece, Spain, Portugal are still there. Will Macron save EU from those? I say "no" and that's why i am going to dump my Euros tomorrow.

Their system has its advantages. Moreover from the point of view of democracy, they are more democratic. Not always the majority has the right to dictate terms.

Weirdly enough I really think they should. The British system is a piss take too. There are parties that can get 20% or more of the national vote who end up with one seat out of over 600.

Where I live my vote counts for absolutely nothing because it's a crushing majority. My vote should count on a national level.

Anyway, Macron is just another empty zombie who'll tell people what they want to hear, achieve nothing and store up even more problems for next time. Still better than Le Pen though.
