We cannot doubt Enrique ability in terms of building a squad, but for now we cannot expect too much from PSG ability to compete in the Champions League, the squad that PSG has is very good, especially with the arrival of several new players at the moment, this will not exclude them as candidates for champions in Ligue 1, but if we talk about PSG then for now we will no longer talk about their abilities in Ligue 1, because after all PSG main target has been bigger (UCL trophy) than just to get the domestic league trophy, losing Mbappe clearly makes a lot of changes to their current squad, so it directly reduces the percentage of their chances of winning the Champions League trophy next season because at the moment we haven't seen many changes in their front line.
Losing Mbappe definitely will impact them a lot, but at the same time they didn't need that much better player at that position, they already made some changes and they are still the best team in all of France without Mbappe. Hell, if they lost Mbappe and did not get anyone instead, they would still be best team in the league. And when it comes to UCL, I do not think that losing Mbappe means much, they didn't win it with him too, so I think they will be fine and if they play a better team ball now then they will have a chance to actually do something. I believe that they are looking quite good right now and I believe that we are going to see them growing gradually to a team that will do fine in the end, shouldn't be an issue.

Hopefully these 3 clubs can do a lot in the Champions League this season, the first is Paris Saint Germain, of course this club is the club that is most expected to be able to achieve an achievement in the Champions League, because of the 3 clubs they are the strongest and have the potential for it. The second is Monaco, they have played well in the Champions League several times, hopefully this time they can repeat that and even be better. the third is Brest, I don't remember if they have ever been in the Champions League or not, but hopefully they can talk a lot.

PSG have been targeting to win a Champions League title for ages. Whatever they have done so far still didn't help them make it. Maybe something is wrong with the management of the team generally? But let's see what Luis Enrique will do this season.  Smiley

It is good to see Monaco there again. After having a horrible season they have made progress for sure. But we will see whether this will reflect onto the Champions League as well. Maybe they would progress through league phase by finishing at a position from 9th to 24th.

Lastly Brest... They were the biggest surprise in the Ligue 1 last season. I didn't expect them to be that consistent. But I don't have good expectations from them there. They are quite probable to get eliminated in league phase already due to lack of experience.  Sad

Thought as much too but it is only a preseason game and we shouldn't read too much meaning into the game hence what the results is will not stop PSG from being the better team. PSG drawing is their fault because the players relax after leading with the second goal. If they continue to keep playing with all seriousness, they would had gotten another goal but maybe as it is a friendly match, the coach would had told the players to relax and not over stress. All goals came in the second half and it was very a good first half of football to watch. It is only during preseason that you can get matches as good as this because the smaller teams that have the opportunity to play bigger teams will want to prove to the world that they can beat them. The bigger teams too don't take the games very seriously and it becomes easier to beat them which almost happened but the game ended in a draw and both teams will be fine with that.
Considering the performance of RB Leipzig in recent seasons, they shouldn't be a team that one can easily write off when they're facing Paris Saint Germaine. But like you rightly said, it's just a preseason friendly game of which I don't expect us to be surprised with any result we get at the end since players of both club wouldn't play to their full strength in such games. For the first time since the 2017/18 season, Paris Saint Germaine will start a campaign without Kylian Mbappe who's been French Ligue 1 top scorer in the last 6 seasons so I expect them to experience some setbacks before finding their best form again.

Talking about the big target for PSG next season with the hope of getting the UCL trophy, of course this must be accompanied by changes to the squad in several important lines at PSG so that Enrique's own ability can be more visible when training the players at PSG. But if until now PSG still has no changes in several important lines, of course there are still many people who doubt PSG's ability to get the UCL trophy next season. Moreover, coupled with the new format that generally every team must be ready to welcome it next season so that the strength level of the team squad must really exist and be tested.
The new format will add excitement to the Champions League. I think Paris Saint-Germain can be successful in this format. Now they should focus on the player they will transfer instead of Mbappé. They still haven't decided who will replace him. There are a few names floating around for this, but no definite transfer has happened yet. While a few people were saying Osimhen, some were saying Kvaratskhelia. Even the name Yamal was mentioned, but I don't think Barcelona will let him go. The only thing I'm curious about now is who they will get instead of Mbappé. Accordingly, their positions in the Champions League next year will be predictable.

Although PSG previously had Mbappe and some great players too but anyway, the fact is that PSG has never had a good chance of winning the Champion League trophy. So anyway, it is natural that for example without Mbappe, PSG's chances will still be difficult to get good results in the Champion League. But indeed, nothing is certain what PSG will be like without Mbappe because after all, if Enrique is really able to build the PSG team to be better even without Mbappe, then Enrique should also still succeed in making PSG get good results also in the Champions League and not only in the domestic league.

Of course, any result can still happen and perhaps, PSG will be even better when there is no longer a reliance on just one player as before a heavy reliance on Mbappe. But about the new format in the Champions League I personally don't care, because the most important thing is the competition in the Champions League which will certainly still be interesting to look forward to.

So PSG was unable to win the match even though they went ahead by 2-0 in the 12th minute of the match. In the 15th minute, PSG actually ended up conceding one goal. and in the 43rd minute, they went to concede another. There were no goals scored in the second half. I understand that this was a friendly match and the result of this match does not matter at all. But still, PSG probably should have been able to win the match somehow, especially since they went ahead two goals by the 12th minute of the match. That is also against such a team that many people don’t even probably know the name of, and yesterday they drew against RB Leipzig. But I think I am being a little too hard on PSG. I think we should trust the coach to bring in better results in competitive matches and not talk too much trash about the results of friendly matches.
Most important thing is that this match is not serious or not but from the performance of the friendly match we can find out the expertise displayed on each player. And with such an appearance makes the fans sure that at least PSG is still fine to pursue the League 1 title or at least not make doubt.
But if we talk about PSG readiness to face the challenges at UCL, it seems I am not too sure and the possibility of the quarter finals later PSG will fail because it still requires a little time to build the expertise of players who replace the role of Mbappe.
The time draw was a lesson for the coach to at least not use the strategy and replace with other tactics that could provide guarantees.

Well at PSG they have a team that I don't see much potential in , to be honest, they have a coach who has had to change a lot of things, and for me a team like PSG needs to make a lot of Changes because their biggest star is gone, is there someone like Mbappé to look for? It's difficult, but they have to do something to make them perform. PS has always been first in Ligue 1, but in Ligue 1 , in the UCL, not even when Messi was there did they Manage to win the UCL, so this is one of the goals they have to set themselves.
In the UCL this season there are still many who still doubt PSG, especially with Mbappe's departure to another team, there are still no other players that PSG have got who are on par with Mbappe. Besides, it also makes sense to say that now because even when Messi was there PSG couldn't win the UCL trophy, especially when all the star players have left PSG like now. But it would be very surprising if this season PSG could perform well in the UCL and successfully win the title because now PSG does not have more star players in its squad even though that is not what many people are thinking about PSG.

I think right now the management of PSG will not be expecting the coach to turn things around overnight with the current squad but they have higher chances of winning the Ligue1 and coming closer to the champions league competition but winning it next season means they will gather all the experience they have got and the team will need to prove themselves wrong to get things right if they must break betrayals of not winning the Champions League for the club. The current manager Enrique is a good coach who knows how to make use of his tactics very well he will definitely want to prove himself next season in the champions league people should not underestimate the PSG team yet.

PSG is making a significant play right here. Enrique sees developing machine rather than depending on one celebrity. Winners are created in this way. Yes, Mbappe is a great talent, but look at Man City under Guardiola. They rule without one Messi or Ronaldo on the lineup. It has to do with the system, the plan, the cooperation.

Some people would argue now that losing Mbappe compromises PSG's chances for Champions League. Remember, though, last season they made it to the semifinal without their full star strength. It is evidence of the great distance a coherent, well-coached squad may travel. PSG is growing rather than merely rebuilding under Enrique's direction. Count not one of them out. They remain a big rival, hence I wouldnt be surprised to see them raising that trophy earlier than you would believe.

Apart from the 3 clubs above, there is also one more club that is still in the qualifying round, namely LOSC. They are now in the 3rd round of the Champions League qualifiers. They face Fenerbahce and are ahead in the first leg with a score of 2-1. In the second leg they only need a draw to be in the play-off round and one step away from going to the Champions League.

So far, Olympique Marseille has managed to bring in 7 new players for the team, either paid, loan, or transfer fee.
This really interesting, just when I taught Marseille is done signing for the season, they are adding yet another to the squad. Last season they didn't do much so maybe they are getting prepared already, they have to strength the team because a possible opportunity avails it self ahead in this new season and they may have the chance to be amongst the top team especially if they are able to win trophies or finish well by the end of the Season in their domestic league. PSG that has been trying to fix their team aswell, the teams will trying to increase the competition in the league as they are seeing that most likely the dominance of the top teams may not be there again.
It's still not stopping.
Already Marseille have signed 8 players including loan transfers. Actually they have been quite successful in selling some of their players for a good price, so far their Current transfer record is still plus, in +€20.50m.
https://www.transfermarkt.com/olympique-marseille/startseite/verein/244

And now, they are bidding Arsenal Striker, Eddie Nketiah (CF/25YO)
Arsenal set £25 million as deal worth, but Marseille not yet agree, last bid £17m.
Negotiations still ongoing. Personal agreement done. Nketiah happy to join OM.

Source: Olympique Marseille have sent new bid to Arsenal for Eddie Nketiah!
I think this negotiation is over because there is no mutually beneficial meeting point for both parties but here it is clear that Marseille are really looking forward to Nketiah joining. I think they have made a great effort to woo Arsenal and the existing offer is still not enough to make Arsenal give the green light.

I think with Nketiah's current quality Arsenal is setting his price too high and Marseille must be smart when doing business by not saying yes to the offer requested by Arsenal. Arsenal may look greedy but they want to recover their finances after making transfers in the summer and therefore they are still insisting on the existing offer. I think this will not be over until one of the parties gives in.

UCL is not an easy competition for PSG to win, they have had several chances and failed, now maybe with the new format some people have hope for PSG to win UCL, but in reality it is not that easy.
If later PSG gets match schedule against big and strong team like Real Madrid, Manchester City or Inter Milan then it is certain that they will not get an easy victory and of course it is difficult for PSG to save full points.
Indeed, for now in utilizing the summer transfer window shows that Enrique is actively looking for and bringing in potential players to strengthen the team, but in the next season I doubt it can help them much in the UCL competition.
I am not sure if this new one benefits them that much though, like it's just group stages that are different, rest will be same. Like for example if they are in quarter finals, they will face a strong opponent twice, just like the old times and they usually lose around there, either last sixteen, or quarters or semi finals. And those things are still same as it used to be and that means I do not think that PSG has anything better nowadays, it's still the same thing and I do not see how they could do better this time around.

We need to be considering this as something that will take a while, and we are looking at something that is not going to be that easy to handle neither, so it will not be too simple to handle, we could make it work some other way if we are not careful. PSG bets on UCL is not a smart thing.
With their performance in UCL, it shows that PSG is not improving in performance because the farthest they can go is semifinals. PSG is only having a big name because they are the best in France and they have no rival.

If PSG wants to show that they are improving they need to qualify to the finals and from there we can have hope in them that they might win the finals but when you have not reached the finals how do you want to win UCL.

So far PSG has not recruited a striker to replace Mbappe or indeed PSG is not in a hurry in this matter and may think of trying to survive with the players they have by looking at the tactics that Luis Enrique will do in building a club without a goal-hungry winger, PSG has several wingers but yes they are not as great as PSG maybe this will be their chance to show their abilities that do not only rely on Mbappe.

There is actually a player who can replace Mbappe and we all know who he is, Victor Oshimen, this player has shown his interest in playing for PSG many times but the club must fulfill the agreement that has been set by Napoli club but until now PSG has not recruited the player and I think PSG has given up on bringing in Victor Oshimen meaning that PSG is ready with the existing players and Enrique also does not seem too ambitious to bring in a new winger. Let's see what will happen to PSG this season whether they are still the strongest in League 1 if there are no more potential players in their squad because I think other clubs like Nice, Lille and Marseille will have make it difficult for PSG to compete in League 1 starting this season.

I don't agree with this, Enrique is trying to do something fundamentally different at PSG, he is moving away from the system where the team was made up of many star players and is trying to make PSG a team that does not depend on one player.

I see something similar with Guardiola and in my opinion this is a very correct path. Look at what PSG were able to achieve with Messi, Mbappe and Neymar, and look at last season PSG was in the semi-finals without Messi and Neymar, and what will you say if, for example, this season PSG is in the final without Mbappe, or at least in the same semi-final? I think that this is quite possible, because Enrique is building a strong enough team, but I think that a good forward would not hurt them.

One of PSG's problems is the incompatibility between the squad and the manager. Mbappe's departure to Real Madrid is an important loss for PSG, but the technical director's inability to match the squad is a bigger problem in my opinion. A team like PSG should have had a coach like De Zerbi, a high tempo coach who pushes the players to their limits, but they wasted time with coaches like Pochettino and Tuchel who stuck to their own tactics. Even Luis Enrique couldn't cure this team. Those who come to PSG are trying to rediscover football.

The obsession with winning the Champions League has put a lot of pressure on the team and I think everyone in the team has lost their identity. Also, the efforts to build a team on Mbappe have failed PSG. They couldn't find a top class striker and the team's confidence dropped. Maybe it would be better for PSG if Mbappe leaves PSG.

-snip-So I don't expect much from PSG next season unless they find a suitable replacement for Mbappe.
Enrique is a good coach and he managed to build a solid squad and they always become champions in every season even though it is a farmer's league. But their performance in UCL is also very good. They almost always qualify for the knockout round. That shows that PSG is on the same level as other top European teams. However, in previous seasons I think PSG is very dependent on Mbappe's performance. Mbappe has a very significant impact on the results of the match. I see as if Mbappe is carrying PSG alone. I think Enrique must be able to prove that they can still perform well without Mbappe. PSG really needs another finisher and I think some league games will show how PSG performs without Mbappe.
I think all coaches must feel that because being a coach also requires a lot of brain power and must be used to make his team win, well of course for PSG they must give full trust to Enrique both on and off the field and in buying new players he will try his best for PSG but if PSG does not give Enrique the right to buy players of course it will be difficult for him to develop this team, this team since losing Mbappe they seem to have lost their spearhead in the front line and that can be seen from the two pre-seasons they have gone through which are very sad and I don't think PSG will say much more now unless he leaves everything to Enrique. Because why is that because Enrique knows that the players he wants are young players and he can play with players who are not spectacular not star players and he can make young players into star players in my opinion with the difficulties experienced by PSG while they still have an experienced coach so they don't need to worry too much in the French League 1 but on the contrary with the Champions I think they will be a weak team and can't do anything because if we examine the teams competing with PSG in the Champions they have good quality at the moment and it is true as you said.

Enrique is the man to build PSG to a very strong form since he is well experienced and knows how to strengthen the club for them to be able to win their matches irrespective of the club that they will be playing with. He needs more time to perfect the team and when that is done, PSG will be able to win UCL title because Enrique has such experience in UCL. We saw how far they went last season, it is just a matter of time for him. He is the right coach for the job and soon he will make PSG proud.
I don’t have much doubt on PSG’s coach Luiz Enrique, he has been a good coach since he joined the team and have helped improve them in their games in all competitions. He did well in the champions league last season and this season also, I expect him to do more even though he can’t win the trophy but getting to reach the finals with the team is another big achievement for him. I have a big conviction on PSG and I hope they’re able to do as expected from them and not fail to perform better next season.

I have no doubt that Luis Enrique is a very experienced coach. But is PSG's squad strong enough this season? Is PSG's current squad strong enough to dominate Ligue 1 and the Champions League? I don't think so.

Without Mbappe, PSG's attack is relatively weak. Luis Enrique managed to strengthen the bonding between the players. Luis Enrique's match strategy is also very good. But without a good and experienced finisher, it is very difficult to sustain a consistently good performance. And it will be even more difficult in the Champions League. So I don't expect much from PSG next season unless they find a suitable replacement for Mbappe.
I still admit the dominance of League 1 but to compete strongly like last season in the Champions League I really doubt PSG.
Previously PSG always dominated League 1 even though there were only a few professional players left, even without Mbappe PSG would still be able to dominate the title but without a reliable striker like Mbappe, PSG certainly would not be able to compete in the Champions League even though they currently have a replacement for Mbappe but their talents are not equal.

Yes, maybe we are too early to say this but since we remember Enrique trying not to use Mbappe in his attack line, the results were very bad last season, more often ending in draws and losses.
That is the reason I support your opinion that in the UCL later PSG will have a lot of trouble.
PSG is always ahead of all the other teams in Ligue 1, so the management may not have to worry much about Ligue 1. The management's concern is the Champions League. PSG may be the only team who have spent huge amounts of money and tried their hardest to win just one Champions League trophy. So far they are spending money and they are trying. The team has participated in almost every season in the history of the Champions League but only one season did they qualify for the Champions League final, although there they lost against Bayern Munich. Last season we saw them secure the semi-finals and if they had a few more players from last season they could have made it to the finals again. With Mbappe gone, the equation is more difficult for them and if they fail to recruit the right players, the team could be eliminated from the Super Sixteen of the Champions League.
