I don't see Lens improving recently, but rather they are starting to find the rhythm of the style and system of play that Haise uses, especially when Lens meets teams that are above their level. even though they are not stable and consistent, they seem to show their tenacity when playing their matches and are one example that can be referenced against Arsenal in the Champions League group phase. In their last 7 matches in Ligue 1, Haise was at least able to bring his squad without defeat. even though in reality, they were only able to win 4 matches. the rest, ended in a draw.
If they can focus more like I said, only on one competition, namely Ligue 1. Then, they will be able to perform as well as they did last season. It's natural for me to say that, because this team is just a mediocre team that has mediocre players when compared to other top teams, especially in the Champions League.

Well, so we agree, the best option for them is just to focus on Lique 1 rather than experiencing a decline in performance again. In the next match, Lens will play an away match against Clermont. If their focus is on the match against Arsenal later, Lens will have difficulty playing the match to overthrow Clermont. Even though Clermont is a team in the relegation zone, the pressure will be on Lens for the next match against Arsenal in the Champions League. However, we will see after the competition starts, both Ligue 1 and the Champions League competition.

It's been a tough season for Lyon this season, even after 11 matches they only achieved their first win over Rannes with great difficulty and with a hard fight. Even then, Lyon was able to win because they played the match 11 against 10 because the Rannes player received a red card from the 5th minute.

In the upcoming league, Lyon will face Lille. I think this match Lyon cannot win this match because Lyon is not in good condition. Lille will certainly try hard in this match to get full points in order to keep their distance from Monaco in the standings, especially since in the last three matches they have consistently had draws.

If you look at Lyon journey in the last decade, Lyon is one of the clubs that consistently finishes in the top four of the standings when the season ends. Maybe this season is the worst season for Lyon, because they are no longer fighting to top the standings, but are fighting to get out of the degradation zone. In the previous three seasons, signs of Lyon downfall were visible and peaked this season.

I also believe that Lyon will be able to get out of the degradation zone in the future, and will target the middle of the standings as the end of their journey this season. Of course, this must be realized by being active in the transfer window next January, with several additions that will boost their performance instantly.

I don't know for sure whether Lyon is in debt, so they are experiencing a financial crisis to build a squad capable of competing in the UCL zone. In the past, many famous players were part of this club, such as Benzema, who later became a legend with Madrid.

I guess nobody nobody thought the table would be looking like this for Olympique Lyon after 11 games, but this trend looks so bad for them that I also doubt that they will recover from that. Because this is not just about bad results, but about having the second weakest offense of the league. 7 points after eleven games doesn't look like an outlier that will soon be corrected. This could a fierce fight until the last day against the relegation zone.

Believe it or not, I still have confidence that Lyon's will soon strengthen its performanced to avoid the relegation zone even though it has been a long period of time, but remember, Lyon is one of the pretty good club in League 1 and we'll see how goods the performance will be either after getting a few win or getting new player from the transfer market later.

Fabio Grosso as the coach will definitely not remain silent seeing that the condition of the club under his care has not improve and since he coached there have been no significant changes even though they have only won 1 time in 12 matches. I thinks this is a goods start for Lyon to improve their performance.

Lyon's journey to get out of the relegation zone will take a very long time, that's because based on their own performance which is still erratic and even tends to be bad, as evidenced by the 1 victory they managed to get that had to wait until week 12.

No chance for marseille to enter into the title race. The club can only finish at the middle position. Marseille can go up as long as it will get winstreak which is quite impossible at this moment. Lens is struggling at league 1 but it has better performance in UCL.
I think that lens put UCL as the main aim caused by the club can farm money from there instead of french league which is still running till next year. Lens was beating marseille with narrow score.

The game between lens vs marseille was quite boring with only around 5 shots on target in total being made in this match. I don't like this kind of match when two teams were playing passively without even try to explore it even more to get the weakness spot of its opponent.

But all too often people put it as if clubs like Monaco had a choice and decided to sell their players instead of keeping them, but this is not how it works when we are talking about "title winning stars". What do you think how long it would take Real Madrid or PSG to make an offer to any player that scores 20+ goals in Ligue 1 and decisively contributed to winning a title? Their hands are literally tied because the players often have contracts that are about to expire in the near future and they don't have the financial means to top up the salary to a level that could compete with Real Madrid or PSG. This is how economic cycle in football works. Smaller clubs get lucky and this title winning star, raise him and then they have to sell him to the rich boys in the house. There isn't much that these clubs that are between 2nd and 1st tier can do.

@harapan I remember that season as it was a big upset for me personally because I never thought that Monaco would win the league title and then when Falcao came I was very excited but it felt that he was jinxed horribly because he couldn’t score only for Manchester United. Furthermore Monaco’s form went down because they sold their title winning stars and that’s why it wasn’t surprising to see them underperform as the year’s have gone by.

Slowly but sure with Lens return to higher standings exactly after winning over Marseille last match, its help Lens three points and move up to 6th standings behind 4 points left from top fourth position team Lille. I am remember with Lens performance at the beginning season and dropped to relegation zone before back to winning victory and now close their position with champion league spot.

Upcoming match, Lens will face relegation team Clermont Foot and have chance three points result to make their position secure with top fourth, for first standings manage by PSG after returning good performance and bad result achievement by the rival teams after Nice failed with three points result last match and the third standings team AS Monaco unpredictable got draw from Le Havre. In this season, Ligue 1 have good competitive until playing 12 games but not sure with Nice and AS Monaco until how many matches later will give pressure for PSG on the first standings place.

Winning by any score is definitely very important for Lyon because they have never won since the start of the season and they only felt it in Week 12. Another advantage in this match was that Rennes only played with 10 people after one of their players received a red card at the start of the match.

This made Lyon even more favored to win and O'brien scored Lyon's only winning goal in the second half. With this victory, Lyon has collected 7 points and they still need 6 more points to get out of the relegation zone and that is another challenge they have to overcome.

Lens as a team that is trying to develop requires more time and experienced players before they can be able to record a recognizable form. Winning a team like Marseille isn't easy despite the fact that Marseille is not in good form in the france ligue 1 division but Lens needs more improvement as they ain't too good like that and apart from winning Arsenal in the champions league i don't think they've been able to win any other match again in their group. So they need lots of team work in other to be recognized as a better team.

Lens definitely should have brought better results compared to what they have. If we talk about the last five matches, some people will say that they did not have any loss in the last five matches. But I think having only two wins in the last five matches is definitely not great for a team like them. Remember that they have finished second in the last season. So they will have to improve their performance or at least compete very closely for the title in this season. That is what is expected from them. But I don't think they are actually doing a good job at it.

A match that last season was a big match because of the struggle for position in the top 3 but this season is too bland when some not sogood performances from Lens and Marseille make this not too ordinary.
Even if the performancesof these two clubs is quite good in 90 minutes of the match but still the match between Lens and Marseille is not as interesting as last season where the match is full of tension but in this match I don't see anything interesting because the matches they do seem ordinary.  

Yes, many people are more interested in seeing matches between elite teams, but without weak clubs, competition in football is not that interesting because sometimes weak clubs also provide surprises.
like last season Lens managed to finish in 2nd position, this is not an easy thing for Lens but at least Lens can prove that weak clubs can also get up and improve their ranking in the standings, even though they failed to win the League 1 title but Lens is only 1 point away from PSG This means that it could be said that Lens and PSG's performance was almost the same last season.

With this victory, Lens is slowly starting to improve its ranking which was previously in the middle of the standings, currently Lens is in 6th place and I am sure that if Lens continues to perform well in the future, Lens will return to its best position like last season.

Falcao was on form until he moved to Man United and Chelsea they ended his career but all is well now with Rayo Vallencano even if he is not as agile like he was during Monaco days.
Not just Ramadel Falcao, they had Bernado Silva, Fabinho, Mbappe are players who won the league with Monaco. They played so well that no club was up to challenge Monaco that year. James Rodriguez who scored that best goal in the world cup too.
If they gave difficult situations defending they should try to score more goals in matches. Transfer window will be opened soon clubs are beginning to identify players needed for the development of the club.

Lyon has just gets their first winning this season from Rennes and this result indeed still not able to lifted up their position from relegation zone on standings league but at least Lyon has showing good progress under Fabio Grosso but next match will be hard for them because after international break they will fight against tough team Lille and if we see from head to head statistics i can see both teams can beated each other but if we see from the current conditions Lille was much better than Lyon because this team still unbeatable in the last 9 matches so Lyon most likely will get in trouble and Lille recently has just gets 3 draw streak in all competitions and they will utilized Lyon condition to return to winning ways and in my opinion Lyon probably will tasted another loses from this match

That's how the competition takes place and if the club is not ready to start the competition until the end of the season it will result in the club being relegated or failing to qualify for the Champions League and Europe. Lens performed well in the previous season and now they have lost the ability to maintain their best position in the top five, nothing has really changed and maybe because they have lost concentration due to the busy match schedule they follow. Lens have collected 16 points from 12 matches and they have suffered four defeats at the start of the season, but slowly their performance is improving in Ligue 1.

Lens managed to beat Marseille in the last match, but this was not good because they were only able to score a goal in the 90th minute. Before playing against Arsenal, Lens first had to face Clermont Foot, so Franck Haise had to prepare a lot of time before heading to the match in the Champions League. Facing Arsenal will be much different even though they previously managed to win the match 2-1 at home. Playing at the Emirates Stadium will be much more difficult because Arsenal will get a lot of support from the crowd.

I actually think that when the teams start thinking about money, too much, they start performing badly. As long as they are thinking about bringing in good performance and trophies, they perform well. Doesn’t mean they don’t have to worry about their finances. But good performance should be the priority. Is something like that happening to these clubs? I think it is. Whenever any team starts to think that they are going to sell the current players that they have and bring in players with that same money, they make a bad deal. Especially when they think about saving money. Just like Dortmund, club which is really famous for selling their best players for money.
