You can also buy Bitcoins with altcoins given that you have some altcoins. But since you are new to Bitcoin, it highly unlikely that you have altcoins:)

You really cant expect to get a coin for free these days.

As posted above you should just buy one and invest it, or what have you, and start enjoying the convenience on the btc world
