Chances are the hacker is storing in another token first. Various sources also say the mysterious hacker behind it is now the 35th richest ETH holder.

Reportedly, several addresses associated with the FTX account drain moved over 21,555 ETH worth, or over $27 million, to a single address which was then converted to DAI on the CowSwap exchange service.

I think they (hackers) will eventually move to USDT.
Thanks for the info, I  didn't follow the news because I'm thinking that the hack could be the work of someone inside, this is just my thoughts.
I mean the timing, when everything is falling apart on FTX, they halted the withdrawals and everything, and in the exact time, the hackers were able to breach them, and stole that huge amount of ETH.

So that is already a double black eye for SBF, as there are tons of investors losing huge amount of money and "some" hackers just take it away from them without any difficulty and now richer by a millions that we can't trace as who owns it.

Ftx hacker bought 7000 eth just now…😱
It's not 7000 Ether, it is 235,392 Ether he/she still draining.  Value in dollars [ $282,482,707.20 ]

Here's the eth wallet address: https://etherscan.io/address/0x59ABf3837Fa962d6853b4Cc0a19513AA031fd32b

Credit goes to these two people who shared this hacker's wallet on their twitter:  @0xfoobar & @StackerSatoshi
that's lots of money. None of people will believe if that was hacker. that's an insider job. that was a lot of ethereum that already drained from the market. So many eyes are watching him swapping everything to the coin that can't be banned.

it seems like that gonna take a very long time to know who will be the real hacker. im sure that hacker was a part of ftx team. SBF itself may know the true identity from the hacker.

Stuped hacker affiliate with FTX to create this scenario.

Maybe that Hacker also involve with the FTX you can't say anything and can't Trust anyone as if that Hacker deposit money to FTX then definitely Ftx is saving them because for using the FTX platform we need to compete Our Kyc they will definitely Sell our data to earn from them I also Recall the same incident with my friend their is a wallet he is Stealing fund from other users my Friend tried his best
To report them so that he can't steall the other users fund but that's Decenterlized we really can't complain about it

Hacker was not only converting all of its money into ethereum. It was also buying so many BNB combined with DAI which have been creating a small pump to the BNB too. It seems like that hacker doesn't have intention to withdraw the money soon.
These stolen money might be kept by hacker for long term.

If the hacker have been traced to have purchased ethereum with the stolen funds, then it would be easy to apprehend the stolen funds. I know with the aid of public ledger, every transaction carried out can be easily traced and when the hacker is on surveillance, then it will be easy to catch up with them.
Yeah but the sad thing is hacker was trying only to save this money for long term. It can be seen from how fast hacker was converting any amounts that being hacked into the another crypto that can be considered as decentralized crypto like ethereum. The non sense thing is why does FTX hacked after it goes bankrupt? Something irrelevant was going on for now. No reason to call this as a hacker. This must be inside job.

though we can't tell if this is indeed inside job but you would really doubt about the nature of this hack. maybe after the dust settles, we will know the truth about this "hacking" incident. if authorities can track the stolen funds, then, they can easily tap the exchanges involved and let them cooperate with the investigation. but if the hacker decided to not cash out via fiat money and let it stay in his crypto wallets, then, it would take long time before he will move this amount  when he feels safe and secure to have these tons of money.
A bit difficult to say about which way will be used by hacker(insider) to cashing out the stolen money. I meant based from activities by hackers and it seems like that this guy has been prepared the stolen amounts to be hibernate in the wallet for long term.
I guess FTX has been targetting by US regulators. The hacker might be facing by FBI. Only stupid guy who claimed to be an amateur hacker who will be cashing out through fiat money.
It's caused by it needs your KYC to be able to cashing out it. It may have same scenario as money hacked from axie infinity.

There are 2 reasons for this suspicion, namely between FTX's weak security and secondly, indeed it was all one of the drama games from the FTX team itself.

for the current FTX problem there are still many questions out there that have not been resolved. but in my opinion the FTX problem only started from the bankruptcy of the FTX market which tried to subtly refuse not to return customer funds in various ways such as, arguing that the website was hacked, liquidity problems etc.

Stealing funds and buying eth. Weird! 😥
Hackers knows what to do and where to put the money, mostly on a platform that don’t have much security where they can easily transact and liquidate that money. Too bad for FTX for being not secured in the first place. They are dead already, and no guarantee for the hodlers on their exchange of they can still get their money or it will be forever gone. This will continue if many exchanges will not pay attention with their security, this should be their top priority.

Funny story.

While this hacked story is came after they are get a problem and going to bankrupt? IMO it's just insider jobs from them, guess what ? for avoiding paying customer money or cutting our money.

I'm not buying this is from hacker, but likely from insider jobs.
This story is beyond me after the FTX crash and went bankrupt then someone hacked the exchange under many pretexts we have been under all this to me this is bullshit and I believe the insiders do this work to avoid refunding their customers probably too making up a lot of stories in this case, giving rise to a lot of polemics and other speculators.
It can't even solve the problem unless there is a new story in this drama.

It would be interesting if this was an inside job.  I guess the question would then be are they throwing some type of hail mary pass hoping that they are able to recover funds lost as other currencies tank from this mess, or are they just trying to secure their own bags as they fly away to 3rd world countries?  I have a hard time believing some hacker is stepping up to try and recover user funds, and knowing what we know about Sam and his girlfriend now, I think we can say that they're likely to do whatever benefits them the most, which is stealing the funds and disappearing.

At least this is the good thing about crypto.  This situation blew up in their faces and suddenly the democrat god of altruism has lost his robe and be shown to be a naked scammer with the support of America's current administration.  Still, liberals will refuse to accept what is playing out right in front of their eyes.

Is this a true story? If the hacker really bought 7k ETH, how did they able to see that I know that a hacker knows that he/she is mostly followed through those transactions that he has made.

Yeah, it's not convincing that they've been hacked just after that they've filed for bankruptcy. I guess this is coming to the point that they've been already nowhere to go and since they've already messed up, they'll just take the money with their disappearance.

Any clear evidence for what your claiming? Who is the hacker and where he bought the ethereum using stolen funds from FTX?

Lot more questions can I ask from your statement.

Provide any article link and give appropriate details. Huh

There will always be consequences of what anyone does. Of course, they will suffer for what they do to people. And about the fact regarding freezing his wallet. He can always split the funds to different wallets and buy from there. So that decision won't be wise.
But if it's in exchange platform then i think the owners of those platform can do something.
we have to wait and watch what they do.

I didn't even believe if that was a hacker, i do believe if that was inside job. Only dumb people who still called that as a hacking incident.

Why is his wallets no frozen coinbase and usdt.
tether already frozen USDT related with what people called that as hacker. The hacker was converting all of centralized tokens to the decentralized token that can't be blocked like USDT. I think that you shall check the latest news again. It's clear hacker was avoiding the centralized coins caused by he worries his money got blocked.

it's not weird at all since none can block your coin in ethereum blockchain.

  - 7000 ETH? The hacker also stole more than 8.4M$, a large amount after all. But the only surprising thing is that after Binance decided not to buy FTX, its price started to fall in the market. This was immediately followed by the demotion of its FTX CEO.

Now FTX has been hacked, if you notice these events it seems like these scandals in FTX are a well-coordinated series. What is the next show on this matter?

The aftermath of the SBF case provoked the Hackers to take further action. Maybe those who steal assets from FTX are the victims of their assets being held back as a result of delayed withdrawals and end up inviting more trouble than solving problems. I will not blame hackers in this case, besides that FTX has also been proven to steal the assets of its users. Or is the issue behind the FTX hacking just diverting the issue to make them feel that it is considered pure theft? Who would believe FTX bullshit today after the mess they made?
