Its always good to see big companies to be interested in crypto and this is a big news, we certainly need the trigger to make the bull run and we have been hoping that new big investors going to put the funds into crypto, but I don't want to get the hopes high, like all of us know that sometimes the news can be deceive and it just some rumours, but I hope it really happen so it can trigger the bull market that we have been waiting for

I don't know how you see this good news but I have been analyzing it since yesterday and I think we should pay attention to it.  Institutional investors are going to come into cryptocurrencies market with full force in some days and weeks to come.  To hold your bitcoin and others altcoins at this current uncertainty time is the right thing to do and if you have risked capital I will said it is wise to buy more. The news and its analysis is here http://cryptocoinjunky.com/why-the-worlds-largest-brokerage-made-the-decision-to-fully-integrate-crypto-after-1-year/. The pattern has been set and bitcoin may not go down beyond the current level.  Please note this is a personal views and not advice for you to make investments decision.

That would be nice. But I really think that manipulators are waiting for some investors to turn their backs on crypto before they start to make the prices up again.

Alot of upcoming good news on the crypto market but i dont know why the market does not respond. I think now "Buy the rumors and sell the news" is not work anymore, the investor and trader waiting for that good news to be real first and then they will but it.

Not all rumors and news will trigger a big reaction in the market. The market awaits for big news with the accuracy that can be accounted for. I am sure there will be news that will get massive reactions someday, whether bad or good.

It doesn't worked anymore because investors are getting smarter. No buying of news, sorry to say that. Yes, it could be that traders and investors chooses the wait-and-see attitude. But I don't blame them, though.

As for institutional money money coming in, I believed that they have been investing heavily in the market for the last couple of years. They might have been channeling it thorough hedge fund managers so we will not see the complete picture on how those funds are moving in and out of the market.

So they can come in any time they want with full force as the OP have said, specially in the last stretch of this year, specially with the BAKKT offering entering the picture in Nov/Dec.

Only prediction, can be true or totally wrong. Even this is positive news I believe can't make people replace their trust again, they need more than news. If this news can bring significant price action many people will not wait to invest/ trade again. Wait and see because we need proof not rumors.

Fundamental is all about rumors and created to take little opportunity make one change to get big money in one strike, in this situation rumors can't do nothing. Every day trust goes into another financial instrument like stock, currency and commodities. They take one big step to protect their asset from down trend. I believe that is only prediction and everyone can make it, but keep wait and leave is our option. You ?
All of those possible formulas that will create a price effect should be surpassed, particular on panic selling. When there's a positive feedbacks coming from legit media, I think that would help the demand to increase further. Problems on price development will be eliminated and more people wouldn't be hesitant in buying a digital currency asset.

Institutional investors have long ago started to come into crypto. It's not because (with the link you posted) Fidelity integrated the digital assets this week that's you can say "Now, Institutional investors will come"
Grayscale Investments is managing 8-9 cryptos for clients https://grayscale.co/about/ and it's not the only one

grayscale is small potatoes. i mean, GBTC is literally in the pink sheets---not traded on any major exchanges. that's why silbert was able to get it off the ground without major regulatory hurdles (unlike the ETFs).

it's true that institutional investors are here to an extent. hedge funds have been entering the space since 2014. and the way algorithmic trading increasingly took over the market also suggests that institutional traders are in our midst.

that said, major investment banks are not investing in crypto. morgan stanley is clearing CBOE and CME futures for institutional clients, but they've said that activity has been low, and that they're waiting to see more interest from clients before launching their own swaps. blackrock's CEO said recently that its clients have zero interest in crypto.

so there's obviously a long way to go......

I think the big change of 2018 is that the market is more professional. It ceased to be dominated by dreamers and began to be composed of a percentage, although still shy, of institutions, large companies and VCs.

We have Fidelity and other financial industry giants creating tools and services. It's not just a matter of risky gambling and short-term investments. A company to create a new service needs planning and fulfilling a medium- and long-term potential.

This means that Cryptocurrencies are already part of the global market. You no longer can ignore or imagine that the value will reach zero.

The next step will be like cance. It will reproduce at an astonishing rate using its own cells in the global financial markets. And no one else will be able to stop.

Just as the internet has gradually broken down with all other media, telephone, radio, tv, newspapers, fax etc; Cryptocurrencies will forever change our lives.

Instutional investors are definitely coming to the market, and they may trigger another bull run.

As much as I like the opportunity to make money, there is a contradiction in all this "love" from bitcoin community for those institutional investors. Wasn´t the reason for buying bitcoin gettting rid of institutional investors?

Haha.. a slap right. When those enthuasiasts wannabees and trade the market that they don't have any idea how to do, will really cry for help. You just buy more and don't pump this by rumors. Believeeeee.  Grin

If that rumors will come out to the public particular to what the enthusiasts said on public social media posts, which I thought it would be some fundamental part to help bull run initiate. As part of the whales strategy they'll be getting back again what they've planted, so after that massive downfall they should be recovering back again to a much higher profit gains. Those positive reviews will happen soon, and as price went higher and improve better we as holders should grab at a sustainable profit as well when that bull run came.

The way I see the whole thing is that we would still need the institutions investors as there are the one that can put very huge amount into cryptocurrencies market which in turn will make it become very popular among nor-cryptocurrencies enthusiast.  The institutions investors has that capacity to makes bitcoin accepted by the populace and governments which is what some of us desire.

I'm still skeptical of the overall impact and level of this and there's nowhere concrete to evidence it. I feel like until cryptocurrencies are starting to be adopted in to everyday life with real use cases then institutional investors will keep at a distance. Cryptocurrency to many is still a very confusing and highly risky investment.
I reason along with you too and I think we are to adopt "wait and see" principle. If there are going to keep at a distance until the populace started to used bitcoin I believe that there will come in very  late!  The investors will always like to take the advantage of people ignorant in other to make profit from the market. Therefore,  the probability of keeping the distance might not be there.

It seems like a lot of big institutions are gearing themselves up for the next big crypto run with the incorporation of trading desks and acquisitions of crypto related firms. Hopefully that's foreshadowing an improvement in the current market trend.

I completely agree to above points, Bitcoin may not go down further and big institutions may come with force to buy cryptocurrencies, with increased value of Bitcoin, alt coins will also come into bull run, even ICOs will have high investments, complete bull run is on the way, as said above these are personal views only, always calculate risk before doing any investment.

Did you read that piece by Michael Castillo yesterday about Fidelity creating an institutional investor crypto business? You could be right... you could be right.
