Is it only in my country, that the world gambler has a bad reputational context, or it applies to your country also? I mean when people are discussing someone other, if one of them say that other person is a gambler or likes to gamble, it automatically means that this person is unreliable, bad and etc. Gambling associates with negative. I remember when I was discussing with my colleagues, that our other colleague is getting married, and when someone mentioned that her future husband likes to play slots, other colleague (woman in age) rolled her eyes out showing that she would not be happy in marriage with such a husband.
No, in my country the word gambler used to have a bad reputational context but not any more. Formerly, you could hardly talk opening about gambling but I think the younger folks have changed that. They don't care anymore -  I hear them talk about gambling in public transports, in barbershops, at the bar and almost everywhere where they gather. Infact they there are WhatsApp and telegram groups where they are given games with the highest odds to bet on. Besides when something that is legal starts bringing in a lot of cash people downplay the moral aspect.
The major challenge these days is lack of knowledge, people now are in rush to condemn what their don't understand and also put eyes into other people's lifestyles. But in the other way, the context is changing and people are beginning to become wiser and adopting a new way of life that focuses on themselves and not others.

Gambling in my opinion is still pretty good as long as you can control your emotions and don't be too addicted to gambling and don't use any means to gamble, because when you use all means to a bad way then it will make us regret it someday, it's better if you If you do gambling then hide it so that other people don't know about it so they won't interfere with your business.
That's right, it's useless for you to tell the whole world that you are a gambler, even if you want to spread your referral link (many gambling sites provide referral features) then you can create an anonymous account from the start so that your real identity is not known. but if you really don't care anymore about your identity and reputation then please tell the world (usually social media) that you are a gambler. You're a professional like a lawyer or a teacher in a respected university, will it harm your reputation if people around you or your students discover that you are into gambling, you're not really a compulsive gambler but gamble for entertainment, how will you explain this to people around you or will you explain to protect your reputation or just ignore them.
Why will you be scared if you know to yourself that you are only gambling for entertainment? When someone saws you accidentally, they won't let this issue grow big as long as you are doing your job very well because they are already satisfied on it.

The situation can in fact be a little better like your students will join you because they think you are a cool teacher and lawyer and you have the same hobby as them. For professions like bank or government worker where you have a control of the money. It's expected that people are going to worry and will have a doubt on you but you can always explain and defend your selves. Show proofs that you don't touch the money which aren't for you.

Cant really be stopped or totally change completely because there are people around you which would definitely be that having the time on watching other peoples activities and throwing up some bad words

and gossips even if it wasnt true or just totally love to mess up and say up things on what they do have in mind but actually its none of their business on how people would be spending up their money.

Its true that it would be better if they would rather be focusing on their own ways of living and improving it rather than on wasting up your time on watching other peoples activities and
making out some comments through it which it isnt that worth.

I think maybe this applies also to other countries and my country is also like that because gamblers are always considered bad and it is certain that when they say gambling, a bad stigma always afflicts that person because even though gambling is rampant everywhere but in some countries it is still like this is still taboo and is done secretly, including what I am doing now because the stigma will change when we openly mention that we are gamblers.

But indeed for countries that are open to gambling even though this is still bad, they are more open to gamblers like them.

I think that in many countries people who have no experience with gambling have a similar opinion about gamblers. That's because the stories about negative experiences with gambling that led to problems prevail over experiences with big winnings. So I am not at all surprised that many people hold this opinion and try not to tell anyone at all about their gambling hobbies.

The stigma and discrimination among gamblers will not really die as long as there are people who are close-minded.

The negative attributes always come to mind every time people are known to be gamblers. Irresponsible, undisciplined, lazy, happy-go-lucky, and being an addict are the things people associate the moment they knew someone is gambling. This is the reason why most of the gamblers prefer to stay lowkey to avoid unnecessary public attention that could damage their reputation and destroy their peace of mind.

If you know it to yourself that you are none of those things they mentioned, keep minding your business. But if you happen to have the characteristic that they keep on saying, you might want to humble yourself down and have self-assessment to reflect. Because it's possible that they are calling you out to be a better version of yourself. Sometimes, we unconsciously lose track of our priorities and that keeps us from accomplishing what's necessary in the first place such as fulfilling our obligations and our goals due to gambling.

Online gambling not only gives a gambler the opportunity to gamble comfortably. Here a gambler is able to gamble safely

You're right with this, gambling online has a kevel of safety that helps individual gambler stay safe away from all sort of physical assault, time conveniences and 24hrs accees to gamble without a barrier, the privacy it gives makes it more comfortable that even at the comfort of your home or office you can have access to gamble without any barrier.

Irrespective of the social strata of the people, they get the opportunity to gamble safely. Even a family member can't understand who gamble

So many gamblers prefer privacy in their gambling such a way that no one could ever predict them from when they are gambling or not and it is most times also difficult to predict some individuals if they gamble at all or not, we must learn to show professionalism in gambling with our privacy being intact so as not to receive accusation from others being a gambler, they may not want to trust you anymore if some know you gamble.

It is not difficult to imagine how this could be very problematic in some specific jobs, for example any job in which you manage money you need to be trusted that you are not going to steal it, and even if in those jobs you are surrounded by cameras and companies have a strict control of their employees it is easy to see how someone could get in trouble if it is found out they gamble.

And that is just one example, as I am sure that if we really sit down and think about it we could imagine a lot of scenarios in which you could be discriminated by your gambling hobby.
It is very difficult to gain trust and will not be achieved without some effort to show that they can trust us. But once we are caught doing something bad, such as gambling, people's view of us may change and they can keep their distance from us. But not everyone will do that because some of them even try to approach us and advise us to stay away from gambling and leave it forever immediately. They will say that gambling can ruin our lives. These people can give us attention, which rarely gets in the real world.
The self-control factor is something every gambler must pay attention to, especially if they are new gamblers who do not have enough gambling experience. They can be more tempted to deposit money when they get an email notification about a casino promotion and will deposit the money right away to get the bonus. This can lead to them becoming addicted in the future, especially if they don't learn about self-control. And if it will make your reputation will decline or even be destroyed, you better hide it from the people around you.
Online gambling not only gives a gambler the opportunity to gamble comfortably. Here a gambler is able to gamble safely. Irrespective of the social strata of the people, they get the opportunity to gamble safely. Even a family member can't understand who gamble. However, before entering any platform one should learn about it thoroughly other wise they may be in complications. There are also many things to learn in gambling.
And online crypto gambling has provided this facility because by playing on online crypto gambling sites, they can use money exchanged for various coins to start gambling. This really makes it easier for people to gamble and maybe this is the reason fiat gamblers switch to crypto gambling because they can play gambling without other people knowing. But unfortunately, not many can learn what a gambler should have but instead directly deposit money into a gambling site and play. They only realize that there is a change in themselves after some time and they can still learn to have control of gambling.

Well, personally I don't think I need to give any explanation for what I do with my free time or my money as long as I don't let the gambling get in line with my duties.

Most people are bothered about what people think of them so much that they tend to live for the public and not themselves. In the olden days, gambling was one sport rich folks and members of high society indulged in. Giving an explanation for your choice of entertainment is unnecessary, so I quietly ignore.

Different people may have different attitudes towards gambling and therefore, I believe that people who value their reputation should not advertise their interest in gambling in the first place. It seems to me that it is easier to prevent damage to the reputation than to try to rehabilitate itself in the eyes of others later. That is, if you are a lawyer, teacher or owner of another profession with a high status in society, then you should be silent about such hobbies, such as gambling, and try not to attract attention in the casino. If anyone (who disapproves of gambling) finds out about these hobbies, then in no case should you try to justify yourself and try to convince them, because this is a waste of time. The best solution is to politely ignore their disapproval.

Not sure what is wrong here? As long as you aren't affecting other people or your life isn't being affected, then everything is fine. Everyone is fine. The people around you don't give a damn about what you do in your personal life. I am sure almost everyone around you has gambled a little (buying lottery tickets also counts as gambling!) for fun. And what you do in your personal life is none of their business.

So as long as you are not hurting anyone, I don't think your "reputation" would go down for gambling.

I like the point you say, as long as it doesn't affect each other everything is fine. no big deal, everyone around us has probably bought lottery tickets or gambled for some favorite team from sports betting. and most likely many people do not care about the activities we do, like to gamble or not. even so, I think it will be different with some people who have important positions in a government agency or as the OP exemplifies. that is, a lawyer, or a university teacher.

for some positions as public figures, of course it will be quite impactful. however, as I posted earlier.
Gambling is a personal thing, not something very taboo. without the need to make a statement to everyone, everyone should appreciate without being judgmental. Gambling is now an enjoyable part of entertainment, although it is risky and we know that.

There is still some sort of discrimination in some places the moment they get to know that you are a gambler.

Sort of discrimination once they learned a person is involved in gambling? I can't imagine that.

What kind of discrimination? Can you give examples of an incident related to that?

I think that was unethical and should not be good practice.

I literally understood what he meant by some sorts of discrimination when they know that you are a gambler. It just depends on the environment you live in. In my own end, it is we the gamblers that sideline anyone that isn't a gambler. There are some activities and discussions a non gambler will not involve with us. That is just normal. If they discriminate you, form alliance with your fellow gamblers.
Yes, it is true that how a gambler is perceived and criticized depends on his environment.  In some places gambling is common and not a crime, and many families gamble together. And gambling is a serious crime in some places, where gambling is severely punished. Which totally depends on an environment
You have given the correct explanation. There are some places where gambling is completely prohibited and there are places where gambling can be played in front of everyone. If I speak for myself, I gamble and no one in my family knows.  Once the family knows then I will have to go through a lot of trouble. But after knowing this I gamble because I like to gamble so I can't stop gambling.
You can't stop gambling it sounds like you are too addicted to gambling . You must not gamble in front of your family It is a form of politeness but you should keep gambling under your control so that it does not cause you any big loss and it is better to take gambling for pleasure.
Something similar seems to be happening to him.  It may also be that he is gambling just for fun  But according to the laws of his country or according to the social order in his location gambling is considered a serious crime and bad act so he gambles secretly in plain sight. I don't think that would be a big problem for him
If his intention is only to evade the laws of his society and country and get some entertainment by gambling then it is definitely not a big problem for him but if he gets too involved with gambling while playing this gambling and if it becomes his addiction then it will be a problem in future.  Will be a big problem for him but hopefully it won't happen to him he will get out of gambling before it happens

Creating anonymous account to spread referral link wouldn't make you to get users since most people like to sign up from referral link since they're know the person or the streamer. Usually the streamer is really funny and he get a lot followers, so it's easy for them to gain a lot referral since he already have own branding.

IMO there's no reason why we need to tell everyone if we're a gambler because it just make increase people begging to us since they think we're rich.

Gambling is fun if you see this as entertainment many people today are seeing gambling as cashflow some of them make a lot of deposit and try their luck to gamble and some of them earns a lot of profit and makes a good return but I guess not all the time it works but some of them that's why gambling becomes addictive once the player already win a single game they think they can win for multiple times that's the reason towards to play more games and also playing a revenge game to get your money back.
