You're a professional like a lawyer or a teacher in a respected university, will it harm your reputation if people around you or your students discover that you are into gambling, you're not really a compulsive gambler but gamble for entertainment, how will you explain this to people around you or will you explain to protect your reputation or just ignore them.
it is best to just ignore. People who are civilized in thinking will know that having a professional career does not make me any less human, and doesn't exclude me from having habits. For those who go ahead to judge and stereotype, it's their choice because it is an indication that they are immature and not yet civilized thinkers. But as a tip, act as a professional and don't be too fast to show/tell everyone that you gamble.

There are famous basketball player and other golfers who had dip into gambling addiction but that doesn't really ruined their reputation. It should be the same thing with lawyers if his gambling activity doesn't obstruct his profession, it should just be fine.

But he will be judged by the people around him. Its why some are keen to hide it. They travel far to other casino or to Macau for it.

Yes. No matter what, the norms of society have basically labeled gambling as a negative kind of thing that most people would be set back upon knowing that you actually do indeed gamble. Sure, some people might ignore or don't mind it but the pretty sure the majority still view it negatively. I see no need to rectify it, it is for a fact that you gamble after all and as long as you gamble within your own limits without damaging anyone then I don't think you need to mind what others think.

If it damages your reputation pretty sure it should only last a short while as long as no one is purposely spreading negative rep about you. You can always clarify it anyway if someone approaches you about it.

Gambling now there are still some countries that prohibit and also legalize it but it depends on the region where we are from, but my view is from any country legal against gambling but to maintain a reputation I will ignore it and I will not play in public places for me it is not necessary and it is better to hide or play when you are at home it will be much safer than playing around many know of course at least your reputation will be slightly damaged because everyone always has a different view of gambling.

I have an understanding of the reputation of gambling, towards ourselves, I believe that the world of gambling has mushroomed and entered all corners of the world, gambling is no longer foreign to today's generation, the online world that is talking today.

I gamble, which needs to be hidden from family, the rest don't, many young people are thirsty to gamble at this time, maybe I don't need to hide from them anymore, because they also do the same thing involved in gambling.

It depends on the company and school bylaws. If you are not breaking your own bylaws then it’s alright as long you are not compulsive. Most of the prominent person on different field are doing gambling to release stress from there work. Gambling is not wrong or bad if you do it moderately and responsively.

The only thing that makes gambling reputation bad was because many people got addicted on it and destroy there life just because they are greedy to earn big amount in quick way.

I got used to this and chose to ignore it. To be honest a lot of people around me think that all the money I make online is from gambling (including trading). As long as the accusations are just assumptions, I'll be fine even if it's annoying at first. In fact, some non-gambling income can be emphasized as a defense reasons if one day it becomes a more serious matter.

It depends on the location if gambling is illegal in that country it could ruin your reputation but if it's legal I don't see anything wrong with it, in fact, I have a neighbor who is a high school teacher and he bets daily on lotto and his students sees him while he is betting and it's pretty normal here, there's lottery station in almost every corner of our city and the draw is being held on national TV, I guess if depends on the location and gambling form, if its casino then it's different.

You will gamble in a way it is not related to your work professional. Do not gamble with the computer in your work place and you will be fine. No one will know many things about you, not to talk of knowing about if you are gambling as long as you are doing it on your phone and personal computer only.

It might be an issue for professionals in countries where gambling is illegal, due to the local culture, traditions and common sense, but I don't see it as being a problem in countries where gambling is allowed. Imagine a country like United States where they have Las vegas as a very common touristic city and gambling hub. Many people visit their casinos, including members of judiciary, professors and even religious authorities. And that is seen as a common thing there without further prejudice for those professionals' careers and reputation.

We are in 21st-century bro, no one cares about you as long as you do your work right and don't allow four gambling activities to affect your job. I don't think there is any we're in your terms and conditions in your employment letter where it is stated that you can not partake in such activities and if that be the case you will have to face a panel if you are discovered to be a gambler.

If it was me well I will ignore them but if I noticed that would have effect on my work then I have to defend myself, as we all know gambling is normal activity or less it's prohibited in the school authority so if not prohibited I will ignore but and if prohibited then I will have to defend myself and that wasn't took place in the school environ so not much laws hold me or affects me.
Matter of facts I can say those that are called professional gambles very well reason because since they are professional they always thought of becoming charmpion in everything they venture into.
