Football is the most popular sport and it's not unusual that different types of brands will want to affiliate with clubs and leagues. Blockchain companies or any other types of companies will take advantage of the popularity and passion for football to partner with clubs and leagues, they don't need to have anything in common to be in partnership. There are companies that don't have any direct affiliates with football yet they partner with them, football is a big business and any partnership with it will experience amazing visibilities , especially in top leagues.

It's not new because many companies have already been involved in companies that have something to do with gambling and cryptocurrency exchanges. They do that because of the marketing aspect, as many people are watching those games, and having visibility will be an excellent marketing strategy for the company.

There are many things that can be done, and fan engagements are part of them as well.
this does not happen only with football other sports are also being employed or partnered up with these crypto platforms

crypto platforms are just considered like any other companies so sports also treat them as such except i would assume that these crypto platforms are a lot richer than other companies

some companies only want visibility so they just want to put their names on the athlete or on the team but some platforms or companies do genuinely do something within the sport like they help with things that are tech related so they both benefit from each other

Happy Sunday, everyone! I'd like to ask a question that may not be directly related to blockchain, but has some interesting connections. Recently, I've noticed top blockchain companies partnering with football clubs, players, and leagues lately. As someone interested in both football and trading, I'm wondering if there's something big on the horizon for us or if this is just another marketing strategy.
For now, it’s just a marketing strategy. It’s all business. The clubs need money and the companies need exposure and promotion. They both win. I say for now because this is only the start I believe. There could be further developments of blockchains in the football industry.

Blockchain can be used for a lot of things and who knows maybe it would also be used in football leagues or in betting platforms for football matches.

Just as what other exchanges did before Bitget they also partnered with football teams for promotion. Its not something new anymore where a team wears sbirts with an exchange logo on it.

If there is anything good that comes out of it is marketing of the company. I remember FTX did it as well. An exchange agressively marketing this way sounds about right. I hope those football celeb won't fall again to big exchanges.

For instance, some blockchain companies are partnering with football leagues, offering exclusive merchandise, match tickets, and other rewards to users who engage with their platforms. Some football stars are also promoting blockchain platforms and launching their own NFT collections.

Personally, I'm taking advantage of these opportunities as long as they don't require me to spend money. I've already voted for my team, Barcelona, to beat Alaves here, I'd love to hear your thoughts on this new trend.

If I had to guess, I would say it is rather some marketing partnership to get more people involved into cryptocurrency. One needs to remember the wave for Non fungible tokens has long passed and they are not going to sell as easily as they used to, when all people around the internet were talking about them, those companies and partners need the help of teams and star players to get their new products and services to the masses.
I don't think there will be any meaningful integration between football and Blockchain.
The closest thing we have is oracles in Blockchains like Ethereum, which allow smart contracts to correctly tell whether one team defeated their foes in a match or not.

It's likely that these partnerships are just a marketing play to get more people interested in cryptocurrency. The NFT craze has definitely died down, and companies are probably looking for new ways to create buzz around their products.

You make a great point about the lack of meaningful integration between football and blockchain. While there are some cool applications of blockchain tech in sports, like using oracles to verify match outcomes, it's unclear whether these innovations will really change the game (no pun intended)!

I'm curious to see how these partnerships play out, but for now, it seems like they're mostly just a way for companies to tap into the massive football fanbase. What do you think is the most interesting potential application of blockchain in sports?

I think the connection you are talking about should be when a casino is launching they feature or sponsored a particular clubs where people would have to know about them and began to use their platform to gamble. I couldn't remembered when dogecoin was featuring clubs and they have to print dogecoin symbols on their jersey through that means people would have to go buy or invest on dogecoin. Same thing applicable to that which you are saying, the real connections are when gamblers funds their account using Bitcoin or any other cryptocurrency.

Just to name a few partnership, not just in football,

So as others have said, it's not a new thing, this has been emerging since late 2019 if I'm not mistaken. And up to this day, it continues to be a big deal for this crypto exchanges to be involved in big sports as obviously like in football, a 50,000 screaming fans might see their logo for promotion.

Who knows, maybe just a small percentage of that crowd might invest or trade on their platform. And crypto is really gaining grounds and it could really push for the adoption that we have been waiting for and that is thru sports sponsorship.

Usually football clubs are the most popular nowadays, and to make people aware of something, football clubs or football players or different players publish it. I usually see gambling sites that have the logos of different clubs on their jerseys, but it usually shows people about their broadcast.
In order to make that thing more attractive to people, most people now usually take these steps to make people aware of it.

I think it's just a marketing strategy and was never meant for something with the purpose of upgrading anything in that certain sport. They target football because they know the big audience is there and so do the gambling casinos which have been doing the same ever since the sport became very popular in the world.
It's better if you won't expect anything out of it because they do this all the time and it will probably be best to just take advantage of their offers and freebies.

It's not something to get suprised but then I understand that the information seems new to you but it's nothing news, since several crypto  related companies have been sponsoring various football clubs across the globe, long before now, that's just another form of marketing strategy tp attract more customers to patronise them.

Football is one of the biggest if not the biggest entertainment industry, I got lots of followers and if you own a company that's in need of more customers how else would you had attract football fans to become your customers if not sponsoring the various clubs they support to gain attraction it's just basically a very good marketing strategy nothing more.

Not blockchain companies. Bitget is more like a business involved in cryptocurrencies. Crypto business companies or whatever that is related to it.

This isn't something new. Blockchain companies do it for various reasons, one of which is visibility and to get new and more customers.
You are correct but I do not like the fact that you did not make it very specific. The companies are not doing it for various reasons. They are doing it for only one reason which is for their own pockets that you explained and nothing more.

Lastly they have some involvement in sports betting though I am not sure but someone can confirm this. Thank you.
I saw something like this on Bitget notification few weeks ago but I did not take a look into it. I prefer Stake.com and other sites like Livecasino.io and Metawin.com etc. Which are reputed sites on this forum since long time ago.

Can u explain how those sites do their own thing and why u believe they are more legit than many exchanges ?

no, we will not see anything new, this is a common marketing story when companies associated with cryptocurrencies already have partnerships with clubs, exchanges and gambling sites have been sponsors of various sporting events for a long time and this was expected since big money is circulating there and there, win win situation for both parties.
That's a valid point! I was wondering if this trend was something more substantial, but you're right, it's likely just a marketing strategy. It's a win-win situation for both parties, as you mentioned. The blockchain companies get to tap into the massive fanbase of football clubs, while the clubs and leagues get to benefit from the financial backing of these companies.

I guess I was hoping for something more innovative, but it's probably just a case of companies trying to expand their reach and influence. Still, as a football fan and a trader, I'm happy to take advantage of any perks or rewards that come my way! Thanks for the dose of reality.

As others have said, this is not something new to blockchain companies or anything that relates to cryptocurrency itself. The Los Angeles Lakers has a contract with Crypto.com,

Quote
Crypto.com buys naming rights to Lakers’ Staples Center in a $700 million deal

https://www.cnbc.com/2021/11/17/cryptocom-buys-naming-rights-to-lakers-staples-center-in-a-700-million-deal-.html

Even the big crypto base casinos right now has a player as their brand ambassadors and carrying a certain team already. So with this, it's really a win win for us fans that everywhere, we already seeing the foot prints of cryptocurrency in sports already.

And to top it all, there are a lot of sports athlete around that world that are being paid in crypto as well.

This isn't something new. Blockchain companies do it for various reasons, one of which is visibility and to get new and more customers. More customers will equal increase in their revenue. There are companies that have partnered with football clubs to pay their players, those who want to receive their salaries in Bitcoin. I can't remember the club but I remember reading about it. That is another thing too. Lastly they have some involvement in sports betting though I am not sure but someone can confirm this. Thank you.
I think i remember i heard about a club paying for the transfer of their players through the use of bitcoin. Crypto is going far

because of the popularity of sports event, almost all sectors are jumping on them just mainly for the purpose of gaining visibility first before you even consider that they might be interested in any form of partnership. travel agency, big businesses and literally anything that if displayed users and fans can go check them out later always finds a way to partner with clubs just to get more audience. it is the same reason why signature campaign is a thing and why most gambling companies have shifted to the collaborating with crypto platforms just so they can reach audience that might be limited by national barriers and government regular.

what you call collaboration is 90% business and 10% collaboration that is still centered on selling their ideas to the larger audience for their own gain.
