Seems interesting. Why don't they just start a new alternative cryptocurrency Gamercoin or something ? I'm not sure if I got the concept correctly, that one has to purchase their coins from Bittrex then convert it into Gamerholic or Gamerholic itself is an independent cryptocurrency? Also are the game sellers or the trade mark owners of the game would allow it ? Because right now, they don't.Hence people have to offer services from the third party to do so.Stoked for the launch though.

I'll wait until a competitor arrives that accepts bitcoin .  I'm not going through the hassle of creating a bittrex account and converting my btc to a altcoin.

What kinds of games are there for the competitions console or PC? I have seen similar services for fiat and it's a nice opportunity to get some cash if you are a skilled gamer.

Do not get too exited, because it is not Bitcoin. It is a competitive Alt coin used for entry into competitive gaming and also used for reward or prizes. I have seen a lot of these companies starting their own coin for these purposes and I do not agree with that option.

Why do you need a new Alt coin to do this, if Bitcoin can be used? It is widely accepted and it is much more valuable and secure. The only reason why you would want to do this, is to pre-mine it and throw a pump and dump on people.

So you cant use bitcoin?

In the article said, you can use cryptocoin for gamers, it's altcoin type. But it's not rule out possibility if they use Bitcoin too, isn't?

This is certainly a great project and the whole idea looks pretty interesting. I guess I'll have to lose some time with this one.

Win seven matches of Madden '16 in a row to win 1 BTC.

Madden 16 Tournament PS4

2/4/16 - 9am

1st Prize: 1 BTC + 1000 GHC
2nd Prize: 0.50 BTC + 1000 GHC
3rd Prize: 0.25BTC + 1000 GHC

Rules:
First player to win seven games in a row wins the tournament.
Play anyone you want, you can't play the same gamer more than two times in a row except if it's for the final win.

Looks interesting, although the rules make it seem easy to collude with friends.

I've registered on their site (with quite a bit of difficulty) and tried to register or even look at the game rules for that competition and haven't had any success. The site seems to be filled with broken links. Can't even tell what the fee is. Whole operation looks to be in the extreme beta stage.

This is a step in the right direction, there have been other coins that have tried to make the jump into the gaming world but this one looks promising.

Once it gets going a mobile app would be a good addition, personally I prefer to play games via an app rather then browser based games.

Sadly we have seen lots of coins with great promise and they have just fallen to the side, I hope this does progress further, I will keep an eye on this one.

This is the exact type of integration I've been hoping to see from crypto and gaming. The kind of incentives being paid to play brings are almost endless. There could be a similar type of integration with gambling/cards and crypto too. Those are the types of altcoins I would be interested in buying or investing in.

This look promising. However, I still wait to see what they did of the huge potential their concept has. Sadly, most of the time this is a big waste. I hope it won't be the case this one.

So I have to buy your platform specific altcoin to pay for the chance of winning some stuff on your site on games that might be rigged? Reminds me of penny auction scams.

Well, not yet:

Unfortunately, the website doesn’t seem to be fully functional just yet, as the link buttons to the rules and registration for the console and PC tournaments do not seem to work, as nothing happens when they are clicked.
