The Scamcoats are coming!
I agree that was a totally coached and thoroughly rehearsed performance from Carlos. He is obviously playing broke and dumb and actually has lawyer(s). Playing the feds like fools just like he played all the Gaw/Paycoin investors like fools. His idiot act is likely to motivate these people and he will soon be in a situation where he will qualify for a court appointed attorney. * I bet he magically finds a way to get his own at that point.

This reminds me of Tio's performance when he showed up at the DEA and gave testimony on BB.

Mumbly fuck halftard brother Homero doesn't have to put on a tard act. He always sounds like a 6 year old on two bowls of fruitloops. Random buzzwords repeated over and over with absolutely no actual content.

How do I upvote this?

There's a lot of wisdom in PR's comment here.  A lot of scammers/bad actors/ignorants/incompetents/[insert adjective] dress their schemes/lack of knowledge/etc. in jargon and buzz words they think are prevalent in the industry and without actually explaining what they're up to.  In contrast, great ideas, even if complex, can be shared w/ simple language.  The benefit of the non-jargon approach is that simple language is transparent.  It allows for idea testing; it hides from nothing (like singing acapela instead of with a metal band).  It is inclusive, it invites questions.  In many cases in BTC world, a lot of losses could have been avoided by asking questions the jargon is designed to deter because people don't want to come across as stupid to the supposed industry professionals. Psychology has clearly become a tool for marketers and scammers in the bitcoin ecosystem, its imperative that people arm themselves with good questions and refrain from forking over their $ before legit answers are given.

Of course, the pattern will repeat itself. For instance, I suspect we'll see another version of this from a certain BTC media company led by someone that speaks in jargon, hype, and platitudes and who doesn't appear to have actually worked in the field they claim to dominate (prior to what they're doing now).  This time, the victims are the employees who were paid to ask tough questions of market participants and failed to do it for themselves.  Its sad, really.

If you ask the leaders of the civil lawsuit against Garza, they will tell you that they have been easily tracking the "HashKing" since day one.

They have followed him to Dubai & back & they know where he is now.

ABC agencies have been collecting data & evidence against him all summer, including the last agency you'd ever want to deal with, not just the SEC...

Be patient, yo!

It's gonna be beautiful...

Wow. Somebody on the internet delivered on their promise!

Popcorn mode . . .ON!

Bravo, RoomBot, have the internet for the rest of the week, do whatever you want with it, you deserve it for not letting us down on the promise of incoming Garza-related entertainment!

The Carlos Garza interview is quite entertaining. I had a hard time reading it though. Too many tears in my eyes.
Badbitcoin-Vik, if you are still following this forum: What do you think about the new SEC files? You always said that the Coinfire articles about the SEC investigating GAW were lies. Do you still own a lot of Paycoins? And how are your scrypt.cc investments doing?

"During his testimony, [Carlos] Garza’s responses to the Commission counsel’s questions
were articulate. He had no trouble conversing in English. I have also reviewed documents
received during the course of the Commission’s investigation, and those documents demonstrate
that Garza is capable of communicating in written English. During his testimony, Garza neither
claimed nor demonstrated that he was lacking in ordinary intelligence such that his capacity to
testify could be questioned."

I wonder how he's going to dance around this the next session ?

He tries to pull that shit next time, and he'll be spending some quality time in jail for contempt of court.

He had to have been coached to do that.  Coached by a halfwit.  So im guessing another Garza lol

yep, he showed those muggles from the SEC who's boss. a great act, but that won't help them.

Shit, I'm at $9.90 on my pacer account. Anything under $10 in a quarter is free, but once you hit $10, you have to pay. I'm probably going to check on this case again before Oct 1 which means I'm going to end up paying the government for public court records, which just seems wrong.

http://ia801500.us.archive.org/30/items/gov.uscourts.mad.173389/gov.uscourts.mad.173389.docket.html

Just PM me if there are any updates that need to be pulled. I log into PACER fairly frequently.

I was mostly being facetious. I actually think it's pretty amazing how much you can pull for zero dimes.

lol, someone just sent me $10 to compensate. I love the internet.

I hope someone will point out the power company lawsuit to the judge/sec to show that fines/monetary sanctions probably won't help get any testimony from this clan.

All props to maildir for continually paying attention and grabbing a case number less than 24 hours after it appeared online. It's the first interesting thing that's happened on this in weeks, and it shows us that the SEC still has an active investigation that they're still putting resources toward.

And it's a decent effort too, at least the few pages that I've read. Concisely and fairly accurately defines what "virtual currency" and "mining" is, and how GAW did what they did. Word "ponzi" is mentioned too.

Quote
The Commission is investigating the possibility that GAW Miners and its CEO sold to investors far more Hashlets worth of computing power than the company actually had in its computing centers.

8. The Commission is also investigating whether numerous material representations that GAW Miners and its CEO made to Hashlet purchases were true, including representations about the profitability and longevity of Hashlets, Hashlets’ mining activities, and how the payouts for Hashlets were derived.
The Commission is also investigating whether GAW Miners’ Hashlet sales had the hallmarks of a Ponzi scheme.

9. In particular, the Commission is investigating whether GAW Miners may have sold far more computing power than it owned and dedicated to virtual currency mining, and therefore, whether the company may have owed investors a return that was larger than any actual return it was making on its mining operations.

If GAW Miners did not have actual mining operations, that allowed it to earn the daily mining payout that it owed to Hashlet investors, then the payouts that investors received could only have been a gradual repayment over time, as “returns,” the money that they and others had invested. As a result, some investors’ funds may have been used to make payments to other investors.

I think the point of this is that since it's now a court order, failing to comply would be contempt of court, and C. Garza could actually go to jail. They're betting that a night or two in jail might inspire him to talk.

I'm not a lawyer, but that's my guess.

The Scamcoats are coming!
So if I'm understanding this correctly:

- Carlos refused (probably as instructed by his brother) to answer any questions for the SEC.
- The SEC doesn't believe he's mentally incapacitated so its suing to get those answers.

Is that what's happening here?

yep, that's how I understood it too. they're giving the transcript to the court (?) is that how it works?

Sounds about right. This "interview" was more or less voluntary (I think). The next step is probably going to be in a courtroom. If These punks pull that AmmawetardSoSowwy bullshit in front of a judge they just might be tossed in the can for contempt.
