Curmudgeonly hardware guy
Factory burn-in is done on a Debian machine.

Think for yourself
Also, I restarted the program and this time it seems to be stable here.  Still not ideal, but I will continue to tweak it.  Thanks!

Maybe bump your power level up to 5 after getting the 85f version of CGMiner.

Also keep in mind the factory burn in was done on a Ubuntu Debian Linux machine.  That does make a big difference.  I think you can install Ubuntu along side of a Win10 installation.

I tested with my laptop which I setup to dual boot to Win7-Ubuntu-OS/2.  So I was a able to do objective testing on the same hardware with Win7 and Ubuntu 18.04.  Under Ubuntu I was able to go up to 800Mhz, 1.012Ths, which I would not recommend, but it was stable.  Win7 only went up to 668.75Mhz for 838GHs.

Mistype.  It is the R606.  I edited above.  And I never did fix it on the NewPacs.  Sold them and figured I would try 1 device instead of dealing with hubs, etc.

Yeah, I have heard that Windows is very finicky with these.  I don't want to invest in another computer.

Ill certainly try the other version, thank you.

I just got my shiny new Terminus P606 from 419Mining.  Having the same problem I did with the NewPacs….  It is auto-tuning down...

I have two R606's, whats the difference between and R606 and a P606?  How did you fix it with the NewPacs?

Currently have it set on 550MHz on voltage setting 4.  It runs for a few minutes, then I hit an ASIC plateau and it goes down to sub 200.  This time it went from a target of 600MHz down to 194.

Running Windows 10 and powered by 8amp barrel cord...

Mine did that on Win7 when I was going through a USB 2.1 Hub.  I quit using the Hub, I quit using Windoze and ended up with a Pi4 and that fixed everything for me.  Also I never used a brick Power Supply, I used a Computer Power Supply and plugged into the PCIE Port.

Edit: If your hell bent on using Winblows try the "May 13, 2019 @ a62385f" version of CGMiner not the latest one.  That one would do about 631.25Mhz at 804GHs on Power Level 5 for me on my Win7 machine.

The Pi4 runs the two of mine at 725 Mhz for 1.95Ths total.  Again you wont get that rate with the Brick Power Supply.

Tried on both the 2.0 and 3.0 USB port.  Tried low boost and no boost.  Tried going to voltage setting 5.  Same end result.

Any ideas?  According to the QRG from 419Mining, "All pods are tested to operate at 550MHz (750GH) at volt setting 4 (OXX) for 24 hours before being shipped out."

Here is the command I am using:

Code:
cgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333 -u 32v8MSnYvZGg8T2fWiHgUoBD7afrTvsJ7u.R606 -p x --gekko-r606-freq 550 --suggest-diff 128 --gekko-lowboost

And here is the log from CGMiner:

Value will be measured in sats
yup add pause to the end of your bat file and it won't suddenly close like that any more...

there is user guide here that has step by step instructions for the r606 and cgminer bat files: https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/91prf5qA73L.pdf

I swear I read there a “pause” option you could put at the end of the .bat file to stop the screen closing.

I tried it but cgminer wont start. The windowpop-ups then close suddenly.

Run it in a DOS window so that you can see what the error message is.

That means there is an error. I assume you have changed the various addresses and pools to your own? Check they are spelt correctly. Also are you using VH’s version of cgminer?

Hello,

i set the latest raspbian version now and the sticks are running without crashing, but now i have the problem that i can only add 11 sticks, when i add the 12th it will crash directly when starting and gives me a - libusb timeout error...

i tried the sticks seperatly and also the ports, all is working fine but only with maximum of 11 sticks.

Is there a solution for this problem? i have 14 ports and 14 miners (2x original gekkoscience hyena hub). 12 newpac and 2 2pac sticks.

Help would be nice! thank you

Here is the code that worked for me.  However, I could never get these things to work at a decent capacity.  They kept auto tuning down.  I tried the Plugable Hub and GekkoScience Hub.

On Windows 10:

Code:
cgminer.exe -o stratum+tcp://solo.ckpool.org:3333 -u address.worker -p x --gekko-newpac-freq 200 --suggest-diff 128 --gekko-lowboost

If the other sticks work and this one does not you may have a bad stick.

Have you done zadig for both sticks? Have you tried the “lowboost/noboost” option?

Yep. I tried setting them back to original spot. Not even 1 degree mistake. And im running them on windows 10.
100Mhz the same.

I already tried different ports and hub. Even directly to my pc. still nothing.

What pc are you running it on? Have you returned the voltage pot to the standard position?

mine Newpac wont start hashing while the other Newpac(s) does work.
I already tried rotating the voltage screw. Need help real quick

have you tried running at 100Mhz to see what the unit does at stock speeds?

No need to touch the voltage pot on these really. Have you tried a different hub? Different ports? What machine are you running on?
