CANCELED PROJECT
As detailed in the "Coin Spirit" section of this post, coin was created with open and decentralized mining because we believed in the good faith of the crypto community but, from the first days we had to deal with people who wanted to parasitize the project, attacking the blockchain to the point of stopping it completely. The coin was just one part of a larger project, and our priority is to ensure the safety and smooth running of the project for all of our users.
For these reasons, and taking advantage of the fact that we have not yet started the sale of this coin, we have decided to discontinue this project. We have created a new currency for our project with centralized mining, and we will swap this project to the new one.
We have already exchanged old coins for new ones to all our investors. Regarding miners, will be considered the mined coins up to Fri, 27 Aug 2021 05:26:29 GMT, date on which the attacks on our project began.
It hurts us a lot to have to make this decision, we all had hopes and a lot of love put into this project. We have learned and we are already applying everything we have learned in our project.
(GEN) is a Decentralised Peer-to-Peer Currency originally created to be used as a fast, secure and low-cost payment system for Genoma Network by leveraging the unique properties of
blockchain technology. Later the project was released to make the currency stronger and safer, without depending on its parent project or a regulatory entity. In this way, any technological project that needs a decentralised payment system can use GEN as its own currency, which will facilitate the growth of GEN around the world.
The cryptocurrency was created based on the
Bitcoin (BTC) protocol and the
Litecoin (LTC) hashing algorithm, but it differs in the hard cap, block transaction times and a few other factors.
Gen of Liberty (GEN) has a block time of just 5 minutes and extremely low transaction fees, making it suitable for micro-transactions and point-of-sale payments.
Coin spiritWhen people come together and collaborate to create cool things for the world, the results are outstanding! We can just take the Stackoverflow site, as an example, to which I owe my passion for programming and collaborative projects. The problem arises when entities with non-neutral interests begin to meddle with people and control them in pursuit of their own interests. When this happens, in most cases, activities or technologies that were initially legal and for the benefit of many, become practically clandestine just because they cannot be manipulated by said entities. Today, we all know that one of those great technologies is the blockchain. The blockchain gives us the ability to remove a lot of entities, in my opinion already obsolete, and give people back the freedom to trade with whoever they want and the power to decide for themselves the value and strength of their currency.
As an entrepreneur, lover of technology and freedom, after understanding the essence of the blockchain, I decided to create a coin for my project that would represent not only the spirit of collaboration but also freedom! And I envisioned Gen of Liberty not only as the payment system of my project, but an icon of everything that it represents. That is why I have decided to release the code on GitHub so that anyone who feels identified with these values and wants to integrate it into their own projects, can make GEN their own currency.
Today more than ever, I believe that as entrepreneurs and creators of our future, we must create, for the good of all, a future based on freedom.How many GEN are there in circulation?Gen of Liberty (GEN) launched its main-net on Dec 2020 with 10 million coins created at genesis. Like most Proof-of-Work (POW) cryptocurrencies, the amount of GEN in circulation gradually increases with each newly mined block.
As of September 2021, 11,444,213 GEN have already been mined out of a total maximum supply of 60 million. GEN developers estimated that it will take more than 156 years until the miners resolve the last block with reward (around the year 2177) — since the number of GEN mined per block decreases every five years as part of the block reward halving schedule.
Today there are still no coins in circulation because, as of the date of publication of this description, the ICO of the coin has not yet been carried out.
As detailed at the beginning, when
Gen of Liberty (GEN) was created, it was not intended as an open currency but as a payment system for a larger project called
Genoma Network, that is why 10 million coins were issued at genesis.
That initial amount will be used as follows:60%: Pre-sale, initial funding of the project and project lifetime.
40%: Support and guarantee of the deposits of Genoma Network users who decide to trust the project's wallet, in case the project receives attacks or suffers losses due to team responsibility.
Genoma Network is a large project and, like any new project, there may be security risks at the beginning that will be discovered with experience and the growth of the system. If at any time something goes wrong, the company will have the possibility to refund to its users the balances that have been lost due to an error of our team.

What is Genoma Network?Genoma Network is a social platform that offers users the possibility to create their own video channels, radio programs or write news and articles, share photos, share knowledge in groups, create their own online stores, watch series and movies, enjoy their favourite music among other things, all in one place, with just one username and password.
The platform is free for everyone, but also there are subscription services, such as the series and movies service, Genoma Music, Genoma Adsense system, highlighting a post or publishing a product on e-commerce. All payments on the platform will be made using GEN.
All users, from the moment they create their account, already have a GEN wallet that they can use to transact on and off the platform. When users want to deposit money in their account, buy a product or pay for a service, they must buy GEN.
This has many use cases. Below I only mention two examples:
- Users will be able to support their favorite content creators by sending them GENs as donations.
- This will make it easier for small businesses to accept GEN as money in countries where the use of cryptocurrencies is accepted. When they need FIAT money to pay salaries, taxes, buy products and other things, they can sell their coins to other users on the Genoma Exchange at the price they want.
Genoma exchange will be the official exchange of GEN. Its development will begin after the Genoma Network launch.
