I think Genesis- mining need to concern this matter. It would be really helpful for old members like us.

This is old news now. This was posted before the announcement yesterday from Genesis Mining that they had lowered prices once more and are now offering contracts that are a lifetime.

All those with contracts which were purchased before that change, will be upgraded to the lifetime contract when their current contract ends, for example my contract started in May so when mine finishes in May 2015, then it gets changed to a lifetime automatically.

I remember that the first version of their contracts were working this way (they called it "electricity cost" at that time IIRC). Then they changed to 1y contracts with all fee etc included. Now they are back with lifetime contracts and an ongoing"maintenance fee". Seems to be the same fee amount that gaw is charging (0.08 USD per day and MH/s). However, GM is cheaper and allows to mine a number of Altcoins, while you are locked with BTC mining only in gaw-land (not even pool switching is possible or cost extra - seriously?).

This would be the right step forward for old customers like us to get ROI and make some profit. GM should extend the contract until their maintenance fees equals payout.

I'm not sure it is possible to reach ROI at the prices they have paid. Even the new prices are still higher than the GAW Prime Hashlet if you go through a reseller because you typically get 5% off. That one will only ROI because GAW keeps adding features to it and changing the game. (Maybe it won't make it either.) But it is priced a nearly a 2x premium to everything else!

The only attraction to Genesis mining is that you can pick which coin you want and maybe if you are great at picking coins you could get a positive ROI.

I just realised that I have made ROI already when you look at it this way.

In the first 5 weeks I made 0.25 btc. I paid with BTC, but most of the 0.8 BTC I paid actually came from the 700 000 doge coins that I had and converted to BTC to pay for my contracts. At the time I sold my Doge when they were around 110 satoshi each.

I just looked to see how much 700 000 doge coin were now, around 40 satoshi, because at the end of the day, if it wasn't for me thinking about buying a GM contract, those doges would have just been sitting in my wallet even now. Anyway 700 000 doges is about 0.28 BTC right now, so if I wanted to, I could quite happily buy those back and still have BTC left. My Dogecoins were my investment.
