I don't get it, if zcash mining is a thing and can produce profit then why would you want to sell as cloud mining contracts?

Hey Miners! Great News!

Today at 09:00 PDT the Zcash genesis block was mined by the Zcash team  as soon as the blockchain went live, we rolled out the protocol on our mining hardware. So far everything is going smoothly. We’re also happy to confirm for everyone who pre-ordered a 12(+1) month Zcash contract before launch that your mining hardware is directly joining the network as we speak.

The launch of Zcash marks the beginning of a new cryptocurrency era: one of privacy, through zero-knowledge and transactional transparency. We're working hard to ensure a smooth, seamless experience - while challenges may occur along the way, we're confident we can ensure they're resolved with minimal interruption to your mining.

On that note, we want to reiterate that Zcash will have a slow start. This was how ZCash was designed. Let’s take a look at the current mining schedule.

The slow mining start

The slow mining start spans over approximately 34 days, in which the block reward rises gradually from 0 to 12.5 ZEC until it reaches the 20,000th block. This means that on day one, there will be only about 104 ZEC distributed in the global Zcash network. Consequently, there’s only low supply to trade over the next few weeks so prices will be highly volatile. You can find more detailed information in the official blog post.

Your Zcash mining payouts

You are now able to provide your Zcash address in the Genesis Mining user-dashboard to receive payouts. Please make sure to use “t-addr” (transparent Zcash address), not the “z-addr” (zero-knowledge addresses). If you can’t, or don’t want to provide an address in the dashboard yet, we will credit your ZEC balance until you do so. You can check the balance in the “orders” section in your dashboard.

We’re trying our best to process the first mining rewards as soon as possible and are optimistic that we’ll already be able to do the first payout of mined ZEC within the next 24 hours. We will follow up with more information shortly.

Other news

The Zcash team also released blog posts about their Security Audits and the toxic waste ceremony. The Exchanges that will be trading Zcash are Bitfinex, Poloniex, Kraken, Bittrex, Bitmex and others.

If you have any questions regarding Zcash Mining, our support team will be there to help everyone individually. We are very thankful for your continued support and trust and will keep you updated over the weeks on what’s happening!

Exciting times ahead for all of us!

The official Zcash launch is now just hours away. We will inform you comprehensively as soon as possible via our newsletter (to which you can sign up through your Genesis Mining account) or our blog http://blog.genesis-mining.com

Also, please remember the slow-start : https://z.cash/blog/slow-start-and-mining-ecosystem.html
It means that for the first day for example, no more then about 100 coins will be mined in total, and then a few hundred on top of that each day until about day 34,!

In the mean time we have sold out on available hashrate, but we 're working on adding more later.

We're all eagerly awaiting launch here!

Hello miners!

Due to high demand and traffic we are experiencing a slight delay for payment approvals in BTC. You can be sure every paid order will be filled. Thank you for your understanding!

Hello miners!

We’ve only got a few days left until Zcash launches on Friday, 28th October 2016 and thanks to our team’s hard work, we were able to increase our mining capacities one last time, so check out the pricing page for the last available contracts! After this sale we won’t be able to sell a new batch for quite some time so this is your last chance to join the network before the launch.

Additionally, we’re glad to announce that every user that bought a Zcash contract before 25th October 2016 08:00 UTC receives a full free month of Zcash Mining! This means your contracts has been extended from 12 months to 13 full months! If you’re buying a Zcash contract now before launch, you’ll naturally get that free month as well.

We made this decision also partly due to the slow mining period implemented in the Zcash protocol: This period spans over approximately 34 days, in which the block reward rises gradually from 0 to 12.5 ZEC until it reaches the 20,000th block. We hope that with this free extra month you will have a much better feeling about the Zcash starting phase.

You can find more information in our latest webcast, in which we talk about Zcash and it’s benefits and challenges.

If you’re considering upgrading your hashrate, here is more information on our pricing and the benefits of Zcash in our Altcoin Report.

Thanks for your continued support, we will continue to keep you informed as the launch gets closer!

Please process my cooling-off request based on the ticket #70909 as soon as possible. Your official support system did not help at all. Your support staffs just keep saying "Just wait. Solve 'soonish'.". It took over 4 days since I requested it, but NOTHING happened.  I've had enough of your buying time. Refusing my right of cooling-off is illegal on the German law. If you are a legit company, you should process it in a few days at the latest just as normal companies do, especially before you will be getting more busy because of Zcash mining.

Customers didn't purchase genesis mining contracts to stand on the sidelines on launch day and watch everyone else partake in early mining. They didn't purchase genesis mining contracts just to get their money back two weeks later. The reason they purchased genesis mining contracts is to take part to early days zcash mining. Delivering on that promise is your first and foremost responsibility. Harshrate upgrades are nice, but that shouldn't get in the way of you delivering what customers paid for, that is to say launch-day cloud mining.

Anyway, time will tell. I'm looking forward to seeing you mining along ZeroPond and Toom.im on 28 Oct. If that doesn't happen and the reason given is that your software miner doesn't meet the promised hashrate after you pumped it 6x from your own initiative, we will know what that means. You have a potential enormous business being the largest and older zcash cloud miner around. Don't disappoint us.

Feel free to look for all sorts of possible reasoning behind the disclaimer, but the fact remains that it simply has everything to do with the experimental nature of Zcash. We offer cloud mining as our core business and we aim to deliver just that in the best way possible. If we can improve our infrastructure or offer again in some way while waiting for the launch then we will do so and share the happy news with our customers.

We will not upgrade hashrate if we think we will not be able to deliver. A hashrate commitment is a hashrate commitment, whether that is for 1H/s or (after upgrade) 6H/s. Mining will start at Zcash launch, and you will have the hashrate we promised, but due to the experimental nature of Zcash there simply is no guarantee nothing can go wrong.

You could upgrade customers hashrate on launch day once you know exactly how much you are able to offer. Nobody asks you to make new, larger promises every week while keeping that clause that allows you to put all customers on hold for up to two weeks and miss out on the most profitable portion of the contract.

@Genesis-Mining: do you have a functional GPU miner for zcash? The zcash mining contracts purchase page still mentions that the contract execution is conditional to you getting a GPU miner within two weeks of launch. We are now one week away from launch, and your competitors all reportedly have a GPU miner.

The disclaimer remains valid, but at Zcash launch date it is highly unlikely you'll not be mining at full speed. Not only do we have a functioning miner, but due to our ongoing development we have already tripled the hashrate offer (see http://blog.genesis-mining.com/zcash-gets-another-hashrate-upgrade), followed in less then a week by doubling that again (see http://blog.genesis-mining.com/zcash-gets-another-hashrate-upgrade).

You have upgraded the hashrate 3x and then 2x following further optimization. This is not consistent with the disclaimer that warns that, should you not meet the promised hashrate, you reserve the right to delay or cancel the effective contract start date. Obviously if each time your mining software meets your hashrate commitment, you increase that commitment, you will always be in a situation of not being able to deliver on that commitment, which means that the contracts you are selling are not launch-day contracts but mid-november contracts. That's not what your customers want. Your customers want to mine on launch day whether it rains or snows. Further hashrate improvements are welcome, but shouldn't get in the way of timely contract start.

Zcash is an experimental coin that started with just about nothing in place yet. Everything was new, everything had to be build, developed, and so on. And still a lot needs to be done. Nothing is sure, everything is uncertain. Of course everyone was free to wait for development of open source tools and build their own miner, but for those who can't mine at home anyway, or did not want to risk not having a miner available at launch, we have given certainty through our promise that with us you will be mining with the best possible algorithm or you get a refund. We started on this promise weeks ago, and by now not only have we developed the best miner software available (and we're still looking to see what we can improve), we have also tripled and then doubled the hashrate offer for all customers that had bought Zcash contracts. As always you can rely on us and you will be mining without risk of not having hashrate, at a fixed upfront price, without further hassle or costs.

We still have a few days to go so stay tuned as we get closer to the Zcash launch!

Are you going to offer any more Z cash mining contracts before launch?

Also, will you use one of the open source GPU miners? Or you re developing your own?
