the first round of the dfb cup 2023/24 season was drawn today. this year's winners rb leipzig will face future 2nd bundesliga club wehen wiesbaden.
bayern münchen has to travel to 3rd liga team preussen münster, while bvb plays host at the oberliga (5th league) team schott mainz. all other pairings can be seen in the following graphic:

Yesterday final between leipzig and frankfurt was one of the most tactical finals i've ever seen not much goal chances, especially from eintracht team their attack was completely helpless, leipzig team totally deserve the win, this is their second title in a row.

congratulations to Leipzig, this is a game in which Leipzig came as the big favorites and it's not just something exaggerated because two games before that Leipzig had won the game against bayern and then won again in the following game so Leipzig clearly had bigger reasons to be the favorites in that game and their opponent, it was unstable just because in the last games they seemed to be a little better in terms of performance compared to their games of the last months that they only lost when playing against big teams and even against small teams, that's why Leipzig had more chances to win that game

and on the field it came to show the superiority of Leipzig who won the game without conceding a goal, one of the weak points of their opponent is precisely the defense and attack, they suffered many goals when they played against big teams last month and even against small teams they they conceded a lot of goals, so I didn't see Leipzig losing in this game, this result in my opinion is an expected result, congratulations to Leipzig who won and also managed to finish in third place in the bundesliga, it was a good season for Leipzig

Leipzig have been very impressive in the DFB Pokal for two seasons. They won the cup once again this time against Frankfurt. Last season Freiburg were a more challenging team for them and they managed to make it by 4-2 after penalty shoot-outs. However Frankfurt couldn't make that much big difficulties. After breaking the deadlock it didn't take Leipzig much time to find the second goal to finish them off.

This was the only chance for winning a title this season for both teams and Leipzig met the expectations by bookmakers too. Bayern Munich have been disappointing for the last three seasons. They were able to reach only the quarter finals this time. I know this isn't a big title for them. But in a season like this they would have made use of one more title to refresh the morale.

RB Leipzig - Eintracht Frankfurt

today finally is the final of the dfb cup . rb leipzig vs eintracht frankfurt . who is the favourite today. bwin,tipico and others see leipzig as the favourite .
i also think that leipzig will win tonight. but you should not underestimate frankfurt. there will be a lot of fans from frankfurt in the berlin stadium.
maybe that is also a small advantage for frankfurt. the match starts at 8:00 pm and will be shown live on zdf free tv.

yesterday was a good day for leipzig. leipzig won 5:1 away in freiburg and is now back in the final. i actually expected a very close result.
3: 2 or 1:2 .but that leipzig scored 5 goals away in freiburg is damn good. leipzig is now the favourite in the final.
and who will be the second finalist ? stuttgart or frankfurt ?
tonight at 8:45am the second match starts .

If referring based on data and statistics from Stuttgart-Frankfurt. very clear, on paper Fankturt will win this fight and qualify for the final round. As we know, these two teams have a significant gap. whether it's in terms of performance, team quality, and based on standings rankings. since this match is a crucial match, at least Stuttgart won't let the opposing team win the battle easily. most likely scenario, Stuttgart will play more defensively and try to steal opportunities from counterattacks. well, the problem is whether Frankfurt can break into the home team's defense. this will be homework for Oliver Glasner.

As for Freiburg, to be honest, their victory over Bayern was a stroke of luck. yes, apart from the first goal they scored it was very cool. but in truth, they were really lucky and were able to turn things around against Bayern. on the other hand, I prefer Leipzig to win the DFB trophy, especially if Leipzig has no problems with injured players. I want to see what the Freiburg coach will do. if they choose to play open, or can be said to play offensive. that means it's easier for Leipzig to overthrow Freiburg. however, if Streich chooses to defend like he did against Bayern, this match will be quite tough. well, let's just wait for these teams to fight later.

I agree these games are tough to predict after seeing how well freiburg team handeled bayern and eliminated them, they  surely shouldn't be understimated, their next game will be a tough one against leipzig but if they manage to get past them i would put them as a favourite against either stuttgart or frankfurt i think their performance recently has been solid.

Many said Bayern wasn't interested in this cup that's why they lose, especially with the fact that they still have a strong ground in Bundesligaa and the Champion League. But how about Borussia Dortmund, what else will they fight for now that they are no more in the champions league. I think it's not a good season for Borusia Dortmund,  both in DFB, Bundesliga,  and champion league,  maybe they should fight more to stay grip in the top 4 position,  cuz already,  names are written on the DFB's list of champions, only left to be announced, and Leipzig is one of them.

VFB Stuttgart : Eintracht Frankfurt
and
SC Freiburg : RB Leipzig

i don't think there are any clear favourites in either match. any team can reach the final. what do you think ! who will go to the final one ?

This game was a big disappointment for Dortmund here. Their performance was such a poor one against Leipzig that they really deserved this loss by 2-0.

Leipzig still were able to score the second goal very late in the game. Dortmund might have caught them by surprise if they saw this as an opportunity. However it wasn't like we had the same Dortmund we have in the Bundesliga. They didn't seem interested in this tournament. Even Bayern Munich seemed more willing to win here honestly. Dortmund should have been better than this because there isn't any guarantee that they will win the Bundesliga title.

Unbelievable with Bayern Munich and Dortmund have eliminated early on DFB Cup season 2022/2023 exactly for Bayern Munich with new manager Thomas tuchel, despite is not priority by several teams but I don't think Tuchel won't missing his opportunities with DFB Cup tittle. Right now left four team in DFB Cup semifinal from Eintracht Frankfurt, SC Freiburg, RB Leipzig and VfB Stuttgart.

Seems excited with VfB Stuttgart are bottom standing team in Bundesliga but success lead until semifinal stage and waiting will make another surprise will lead to final? Based on four teams have qualify to semifinal, seems RB Leipzig is more favorite team winning DFB Cup season 2022/2023 than Eintracht Frankfurt or SC Freiburg.

It actually fits exactly in the year of Bayern Munich, this home defeat against Freiburg. Bayern has been very volatile from the first match day and this defeat fits completely in Bayern's year. If they don't become champions then they've had a disaster year. But how much value does the German Cup still have for Bayern? It's not a prize they really want, but I think they feel obligated to win all the national prizes. The battle for the cup is now completely open due to the loss of Bayern.

the very sad part of this result is that bayern were playing with their best players, i.e. bayern was playing seriously and even so they only managed to score only 1 goal less being a game against Freiburg which is a team with very good defense, because in the last few games he hardly concedes more than 1 goal in the games he has been playing, but he has a very bad attack because he has not been able to score many goals, so bayern could have at least scored 2 goals and they would have won the game, but they could not and the bad luck from bayern did not finish in this game, in the next bundesliga game they will play again against Freiburg, that is, in the next game there is also a great chance that bayern will lose again against Freiburg

a few minutes ago the draw for the eighth finals of the dfb-cup was made.
and of the 5 remaining 2nd league clubs, 3 will play against a club from the bundesliga and the only 2nd league duel will be between nürnberg and düsseldorf.
due to the world cup, the games will not take place until next year (01st february)
