I really hope that Bayern Leverkusen can break Bayern Munich's dominance in the Bundesliga. This season seems very appropriate for Leverkusen to be able to do that, with a fairly consistent performance, it will most likely be difficult to stop their progress. Since being handled by Tuchel, Bayern Munich has not experienced rapid improvement, last season they were able to win a trophy with great difficulty and it had to be determined until the last match. And I'm pretty sure it looks like Tuchel will be fired if he fails to give the Bavarians a title this season.
It would be a good thing if in the end Leverkusen could break the dominance that Bayern had done for 11 consecutive seasons because in the end with Leverkusen becoming champions even though Bayern will still remain a big club but in terms of competition and titles there is at least a little change and that is a good thing.
It's just that to get something like this, of course, it must be accompanied by Leverkusen's performance which must still be maintained until the end of the season.
Now the momentum is getting where when Leverkusen managed to win with a fairly landslide score with Bayern some time ago but this cannot also be used as a benchmark even though they are 5 points ahead now and are comfortable at the top of the standings but apart from the season which is still quite long, this also needs to be watched out for Xabi when he now successfully keeps 31 matches without defeat even though this could backfire when he loses just once because with a rhythm that is not maintained it is not impossible that the same incident when Dortmund failed last season could happen again this season for Leverkusen.
The history of last season competition may repeat itself, Dortmund pocketed the same number of points as Bayern Munchen but they failed to win the trophy, due to the difference in goal productivity and number of goals conceded. Xabi Alonso certainly understands the tension and dynamics of the Bundesliga competition, because he experienced it when actively playing with Bayern, and Xabi will certainly try his best to achieve their goals this season. Leverkusen chances of winning the trophy have now increased drastically, after they were able to beat the defending champions 3-0 yesterday, and the only tough match in the future in my opinion is against Dortmund.
I don't mean to underestimate the other contestants, it is possible that Leverkusen will be tripped up by other teams, but Leverkusen chances of continuing the positive trend are quite large in every match. If they manage to beat Dortmund or draw with Edin Terzic fleet in the future, it could be said that Leverkusen will become the new champions in the Bundesliga. Broadly speaking, this will be very meaningful, football fans will think that the competitive level of the Bundesliga has increased, and Leverkusen is a team capable of breaking Bayern dominance over the last decade.
With 13 more matches remaining in the Bundesliga, Leverkusen is at the peak of their best performance. Xabi must be able to manage his players self confidence so that they don't overdo it, which can cause them to get lost in fun and underestimate their opponents abilities in the future. Xabi and his fleet have gathered all the ingredients to cook, just waiting to see if they will actually make a celebration cake at the end of the season, I think Leverkusen will party at the BayArena.
