Thought i should share some info on this motherboard after playing a little with the PCI-e, and it fits betetr to continue in this thread that to start a new one.

I use BIOS f8 and the BIOS settings suggested by Vosk, and the M2 adapter i use works.

PCI numbering counting from the CPU side

M2-adapter slot: 10
1st x1: 4
1st x16: 1
2nd x1: 3
2nd x16: 9
3rd x1: 8
3rd x16: 5

But 7 is not enough, so I have played with these "splitter cards" (1 PCI-e to 4 USB connections).
These seem to take 6 PCI-e addresses and shift the numbers of the later slots by 5.

I have added two of these splitters and placed them in the 1st x16 and the 2nd x1 (the ones with the lowest initial numbers). the USB connections is compatible with the v008 risers at least.
This resulted in cards on PCI 3,4,5,6 and 10,11,12,13. And all eight cards are mining happily.
The rest of the slots got shifted from 10,4,1,3,9,8,5 to 20,14,3-6,10-13,19,18,15

I don't have risers and 6pin connectors for more cards right now but 4 more cards to test soon.
It would be nice to know if 2x splitters will make this a 13 GPU motherboard for real (and not only in theory), an alternative when more special motherboards are scarce, but it adds more sketchy components to go bad...

I'm running simpleminer if that matters when it comes to card recognition.
The PCI numbering can be important since it makes it possible to route cables so you have a clue about which card is "GPU3".

Edit:Tested with more risers and a par more GPUs.
Whatever I tried I could not get it to post with 10 GPUs, maximum seems to be 9. with/without the m2 adapter, tried to turn off all I could think off in the BIOS (but too little knowledge to really know what I was doing).

After thinking a bit I thought the splitters was stealing 2 PCI-lanes as it was shifting the PCI address +5 and not +3, and by using two I lost from 13 available down to 9.
So I removed one splitter and used only the normal slots and the m2. Still only max 9 GPUs.
So I removed the m2 and settled fro one 1-4 splitter and the other 5 slots for a total of 9 GPUs (addressed _,9,3-6,8,14,13,10).
If anyone have some info on the ability to disable stuff to be able to add one extra GPU it would be nice to know. Or is it because I'm cheap and use the smallest possible Celeron with only 16 PCI-lanes?

Hi guys, I'm trying to do the very setup. I can only manage 6 cards in any configuration. The M2.0 works and can mine. As soon as I add the 7th card the machine will not boot. It turns off after 1 second of power on.

I'm interested in the BIOS update also but I can not find that exact revision in the official list, any ideas guys?


Any help would be greatly appreciated, I have 7 of these mobo's waiting the receive a 7th card.

M2 > pcie works with this board I have been using it with a 1080ti conected to it. The board ran total of 5 cards (3x 1080ti and 2x 1070 with the f6a bios

Hello. I have same motherboard, I switched two of these, I have the problem with 2nd, pci-e 16x slot... not working for me.
Even if I put graphics card directly into that slot, and put in bios that it's main display, it won't show the display... and will not register it.
I bought two of these mobos thinking that first one had problem with slot but no.

See, even I put out from left 1st pci to 2nd, not working.. I tried all combinations and nothing. Does anyone have any idea what it might be?

Before this I used ASROCK h110 all 6 worked fine but mobo died.

I`m planning to use both M.2 on My Asus board for gpu`s as well. But can I plug risers in those adaptors or I must plug in card only in them?

I'm new here. Same problem here with 5x gpu! 4x GTX 1060 3gb and 1x GTX 1060 6GB , i have made all the settings from the pictures above and gpu 1 and gpu 3 does not make all the hashpower but at least I have made all 5 gpus run good.

Hello I've the same problem - same motherboard but the GPU plugged into the M.2 adapter is not detected in windows despite the fan spinning on the GPU? I've updated the bios to the mining version. Any ideas? It seems that it should work.....

The situation is that the M2 adapters often do not coincide by the contacts on MB. You may need to slightly move the adapter to the right or left of the key. It may be necessary to enlarge the hole for the key on the adapter M2.

Unfortunately still no success, made all settings as written, have latest F6a BIOS, tripple checkd everything. Any card/riser that work in other slot connected into M2 just don't work... Had 2 M2>PCIE, both chippos from China, ordered another model, waiting.

As I wrote above, 7 cards will work on BIOS F6a. This is a specialized BIOS for mining.
Checked by me personally.
On the F5 worked only 6 cards, no more started either through M2, or through HUB 1 to 3 PCI 1x

1) check that the pins match on the adapter and the media.

never got m.2 adapter to work on GA MOBO. On AsRock MOBO it was simple plug and play...

Yeah, i scewed it. Had 2 adapters, though from same batch, now ordered another one.

You can definitely run additional GPU from M2 adapter on your motherboard. The common mistake that I've made all the time have I never screwed down the M2 adapter which caused the pins to not align with M2 slot on the motherboard. It should work or else try another M2 adapter. There is no guarantee that each one will work.
