Enough beggars here already, so please don't send money to me! I make my own!

Unless you *really* need to get rid of it Kiss

Question though: about this 0.0005 btc transaction fee. Is this an arbitrary amount that's forced by the Bitcoin client, i.e. if I compile my own client, can I specify a different fee? Or is this explicitly determined by the protocol specifications, i.e. there's nothing for me or my client to fill in, or a different amount would result in the transaction being invalid according to the protocol specs?

It's forced by the Bitcoin-qt client. Not paying a transaction fee won't result in an invalid transaction on its own, but in the (distant) future it may take longer to work its way through the network.

I'm begging, because I don't have enough money to buy my own mining hardware. and I'm so dependent on FPGA as I pay like $ 0,3 per KWH. Anyway, guess there is no such thing "free" money. Hope that when i got my BFL single, I make it at ROI
