Surely give respect to whom respect is due that has been the old rule that abide with, PARENTS and TEACHERS should be accorded the respect due for for them. mostly this two categories of people has the life of children whether the child would be good or bad it depends on the actions of this set of people so I respect them so much.
Though this days evolution has changed alot of things making parents lack the proper training that are supposed to be imposed on their children leaving the whole issues for teachers to sort forgetting that the teachers too has their own children to take care of.

Looking the case of time you spoke about I think time has nothing to do with respecting teachers and parents.

With due respect sir, were you a student before you became a professor? if yes then. I think my statement has ended because you must have understood what I meant by now....

Parents and teachers are the two vital people we need in our lives in order to make it far and be successful in life. Without respect being given to them, in what we are thought and believed in, things might not go smoothly without seeking for their blessings. This is not even about them being your parent or teachers, but as a sane being, you need to respect your elders even if they’re not related to you or hold any position that they need to be respected. The world and society we live in as made it clear that respect should be giving and shown to the elderly ones and so shall it be reciprocated to you. It doesn’t matter what your parents or teachers have done to you in the past, they should always be given their respect.

Parents and teachers help shape our lives to become responsible citizens of the world, without them we're vulnerable and without direction in our childhood. I think that they should be accorded special regards, recognition and attention throughout our lifetime, for their exceptional sacrifices for us. First our parents that gave birth to us and took care us from infant to adolescent, every sacrifice of love made so that we will become something good in life. Then our teachers that acts as our second parents, they also sacrifice time with patience to educate us and prepare us for the challenges of life that awaits us. We must use every opportunity that we have to continue to appreciate them for their exceptional love in moulding our characters to become better persons.

Although we have some irresponsible parents, but for the fact that they gave us life and didn't allow harm to come to us in our infancy and childhood, we still need to appreciate them despite their shortcomings.

Back then students often see their teachers as their second parents, after class we stay back have discussion with them most things we are not quite bold to discuss with our parents we do with our teachers.

Nowadays student now find it funny to bully their teachers, chase them out of the class without considering the important role of this person if they should be able to keep calm and learn from them. Those teachers are also somebody's parent and will always wish good for every of their students.
It is known that children spends more time with their teachers than parents except during the week days so teachers have the very responsibility to educate a child not just academically but also moral.
Teachers deserves the respect.

Parents and teachers always plays a good role to the life of every individuals that is why when a child had a bad parents with poor parenting training it affects the child and also when a teacher is not good enough to train a child too it affects the child. If you look at a child that us misbehaving in the society,  two you will check for cause of the behaviour who the parents are and which teacher did the child passed through.

Parents and teachers are very important in our path to survival and success. Children are born knowing nothing, it is the parents and teachers that help in the development of the child to the age of maturity. Parents and teachers give us all the support and encouragement we need to become responsible citizens. But we don't just respect our teachers and parents, everybody deserves respect. Other agents of socialisation have contributed greatly to our success so they also deserve recommendation and respect.

Sadly we now have parents who support children to do evil. Parents now help their children to engage in examination malpractice and other forms of criminality. In my country, parents now send their children to schools where they can learn how to engage in all forms of scams and fraudulent activities. We have had issues where mothers force their female children into prostitution. Some teachers are not also helping matters because they sometimes molest children kept in their custody. Some of these evil teachers sexually and financially exploit students.      

The teacher is our second parent if we are in school, we should really respect the teachers because if it is not because of them we will not learn either. Even if they are teachers, they are still studying just to teach us what we don't know yet, I hope we can appreciate what they are doing if it wasn't for them we wouldn't be able to graduate with knowledge. It's the same with our parents, we don't just give respect but also love and caring because they are the ones who have been instrumental in making us whole. No matter who you are, you have to respect that person if you want to be respected. Whoever they are.

If you are a believer, you know that a person will never go far if he/she doesn't pay respect to the ones that have brought them to this world. That's why it is important to give the respect they deserve for teaching us first and for taking care of us as we grow older. Mind you that there are even senior citizens that still has their parents alive and look, they're still being taken care of their parents that are more senior and weaker than them.

And as for the teachers, they're the ones that has honed our skills and also helped us grow in terms of acquiring knowledge in schools. While there are many things that can't be learned in schools. Teachers are very much important and just like our parents, we also need to give them the respect that they deserve. They might not need our respect because they sworn with their service and professional, but a simple gesture like you show that you are respecting them means a lot already.

The current context is different, one factor that has contributed to the increase in children's behavior and lack of respect is the influence of technology. With the rise of social media and constant access to screens, children are often exposed to disrespectful behaviors and attitudes. The virtual world can sometimes disconnect children from real-world interactions, leading to a lack of understanding of the importance of respect. Changes in family dynamics also play a role in decreasing esteem in children. With many parents working long hours or working multiple jobs, parents may have less time to instill values ​​and discipline in their children. It can be a lack of understanding of respectful behavior towards others. Despite these challenges, parents and teachers play a role in instilling values ​​of respect and gratitude in children. The topic of respecting parents and teachers will only come up when parents and teachers are actively involved in a child's life.

agreed in almost all cases how a child acts at school is a direct result of what happens at home and how a child acts at home is often a result of what happens at school

if a child’s parents are not doing a good job in taking care of the child, this child might lash out at school in which the teacher will be the one to try and fix it on the other hand if the child is not performing well at school and his teacher is not helping him the child might feel some psychological and mental effects in which he can take home where his parents are the one who will deal with it

children are like blank canvas and it is up to the environment they grow up in most especially the kind of adults they grow up with that will determine how they will be in the future i believe that a support system from both the teacher and the parents is most crucial in a kid’s developing years

Dude. Stop the clowning around. None of you respect any of your teachers. Schools are filled with violence. Universities promote violence. I was a professor, so I know. Universities refuse to apologize for promoting violence against me. Until they do this, I will assume that all students are always incredibly disrespectful 100 percent of the time and that they only want to promote violence against me.

It is believed that teachers and parents play a vital role in the upbringing of a child therefore they ought to be treated with respect by the children, it is just very unfortunate how children insult teachers and parents who spent so much time and energy to develop the intellectual ability of the child. Though the rate of stubbornness by Children to their parents and teachers just increase in this modern day as in the old days it wasn't at this high rate, children listen to their parents and teachers and they were taught thoroughly on how to respect not only their parent and teachers but to the society at large more especially their elders.

 The important role teachers and our parents play in our lives can't be overemphasized because they are like the bedrock of our moral existence. Someone mentioned that everyone can be a teacher and I'd agree but I'd have to emphasize that. Everyone can be a teacher, but it's only few that can be good teachers who make meaningful impact in the lives of their students. For me, everyone who is responsible for a child has to have enough patience because children, especially in their formative years can be difficult to handle but then again it's still about how they were brought up.
 While I was in school there's always this debate that goes on about who plays a more important role in the life of an individual's life; a teacher or a doctor but we all know where the answer lies and as such it's not just children that ought to respect and value the teachers but the government of the country as well. Most teachers become lax and lose the zeal to come to work if their salaries aren't being paid and are easily overlooked because some feel they aren't really doing much.

Teachers play a vital role in society, but our parents are our best teachers. Anybody can be a teacher, not just the school teachers. Most times children learn from the words of the parents, rather than the teacher. However, the school teacher tends to have more power over the students because the parents hand out the kids to be controlled and taught by the teachers. However teaching is not a simple task, especially when handling kids within the age of 4 - 10 years. The process of making them learn is not simple and the kids can be noisy and difficult to control. The teacher would be sick from time to time. What is important in teaching is the long-lasting rapport between the kids and the teachers. That's why it's crucial to be a great teacher, the kids won't forget about you and also the subject you taught them. It would cement on their memory. Kids are lovely, that's why teachers against all odds still stick to teaching the kids or students.

Those students who don't respect their teachers are from homes where there is domestic violence between parents. The way students behave in school determines how their parents treat them at home. If a child grows up seeing his parents quarrel, he'd be aggressive in school and also be disobedient. Teachers are expected to have a bit of knowledge of emotional intelligence, and not to be offended when a child misbehaves. Teachers shouldn't flog students or fight them in school, it only worsens the problem of that child, emotionally. Since our society depends on the works of these two people, the society needs to groom quality parents and teachers. Parents these days don't know the duty of being a parent, they misuse the responsibility of parenthood. Children grow up with no love and kindness, female children don't get the right grooming from their Father hence they don't know how to treat a man. Most time they find it difficult to stay in a good relationship with a man, because, instead of meeting their dad for advice, they run to their mother to teach them about men.

Teachers and parents are people that contributes to someone's moral life and success. This is because the parents are there to guide and teach us at most times when we are still young but the teachers are there to teach us when our parents are not there. Teachers should be valued in the society, because they are the ones training the future leaders.

But it is the other way round, as teachers are not valued in the society instead the government treats them like garbage and this is why some students don't also respect their teachers. Take example of my country, Lectures are been owed and the government hasn't still meet up to their demands over a very long period of time because these lectures have love and passion for their jobs. Teachers are the most contended people in the world.

"What is the core of a human being?", and unconsciously I answered that it is "morality". The more mature I become, the more I realize a truth in life about "heart grateful", it connects us not only as humans in the present but also with the next generations or even all species. But clearly, in this life, not everyone always realizes those values ​​at the same time, and most of all, we need lessons to grow over time. Like the OP is talking about respect's importance, it reminds me of an issue about love in life, ignoring time with the concept of dependence on it does not mean we still have to go through all the lessons to reach the ultimate truth.

I'm not sure if it's the natural science or the spiritual perspective that's causing people to disagree, but the way I feel about it is the connection without discrimination, the infinite loop of life and we are currently at a stage where wisdom is both evolving and degenerating, an inherent balance of the macrocosm like a lake in which all living things are growing together.

Ofcourse, respect is very important and it's earned not demanded. Responsible people, or people who do right always are given more respect by the wise than those who aren't, despite the age. The wise are more respected than  fools despite the age... But all this virtues typically increases as we age. The elders are suppose to be wiser and more responsible hence deserve more respect. The younger could be wiser and more responsible if they have more light in them... so, the respect will come to them more, but this does not mean they should disrespect the elders because that will diminish their wisdom and reputation as responsible people. Besides, elders or biological parents deserve respect since they already earned that by being older. They earn more if they aren't foolish and irresponsible.

Respecting parents and teachers is really important. They have the experience & knowledge that can guide us in making wise decisions & shaping our character. They provide us with love, care & support. Respecting them shows gratitude for their sacrifices & dedication. Respecting parents & teachers fosters a positive & harmonious environment promoting effective communication & cooperation. It cultivates values such as discipline, humility & empathy which are crucial for personal & social success. Respecting parents & teachers is a reflection of our appreciation for their role in shaping our lives.

Teachers and parents must act together ..

It is important that they have also communicating , because teachers only knew her student from school but does not know them in their houses
same as the parents, they only knew their children in houses and not from the school.

Parents and teachers needs not only respect but also caring and love .

In most cases, we often concentrate on the children because they are growing up and wouldn't want them to got mixed up with the society influence with bad manners, some of our adults and grown up men were also not left out in these altogether, we must value our parents and teachers if really we wanted same thing to be reciprocated back on us, we are whom we are today through the influence of our parents and the love from our teachers who had vested alot on us.
