I really have no idea if I did this correctly at all.

If you have issue addresses, the setup was correct. Looks good from here.

BTC: 0.02 (4ab8e7e295) LTC: 0.794 (af9a1ade40 ) TRC: 1.571 (d8618fd245)

Also: You can check the status and history of all payments by looking at your ripple address: https://dividendrippler.com/account?_=rHD5FjZirDpnFQjWcBkryuwjkwDy7DLQr6

Edit to add: I don't have LTC or TRC receiving addresses set up. Is that a problem, or only if I try to redeem the IOU?

I also have to say that I think it's hilarious the ripple folks tout their system as "simpler than BTC".

Would this then allow a trading market to exist between BTC/LTC/TRC?

YES! in fact, I made some markets. Feel free to trade and make your own markets with new coins.

Had signed up a couple of days back; now when I log in it says 'offline'.

My balance is 0; do I need any balance to start using it?

The 'offline' is hit and miss for me. You'll need to be able to trust DividendRippler for the 3 chains, plus 1 XRP for signing up. But this giveaway is to increase your balance above zero.

Can I ask, how did you set the TransferRate on your ripple account to charge 0.19% on transfers?

Because the web client cant do it, and there is no easy way to do local transaction signing without the rippled software.

EDIT: Ok, it seems it comes back online using the PC from where I signed up. Can somebody please send me a couple of ripples so that I can 'trust' others?

Why am I sending 'real BTC' for IOUs? One point of the giveaway is to show how to get funds into ripple. Anyone can send to your personal issue addresses for ripple credit.

Oh right, yeah that makes sense.  I had forgotten about the step of actually needing to send you funds because I was being cheap and getting freebies Smiley

Well please try to withdraw them after playing around, and let us know of any issues.

I just convinced myself I don't really understand ripple all that well. I mean, I have 20k ripples from the ripple giveaway, but how do I use them?

We're hoping to change that. It takes a very raw way to look at banking and IOUs. But once the mindset is there, it becomes clear. There is an "AHA" moment that is needed. For example - how would you explain twitter to someone 25 years ago?

I was about to do it, but I gave up. Wasn't comfortable with the risks and these IOU(I owe you?). I don't like to owe people!

You don't 'owe' us anything! When you hold DR IOUs, DR owes you.

But he owes me now Smiley

I guess I'd disagree that 1 XRP is too steep.

Payment sent!
BTC: 0.006 (ce10951aca) LTC: 0.885 (aede2b175a ) TRC: 4.974 (c6872afc47)

Well, I was assuming you were just using it to confirm ownership of the ripple account, in which case a 0.00001 would be equally effective.  But if you want to use it as an opportunity to make a profit perhaps label it as a charge or registration fee just to be clear.

Love the concept though, thanks for the freebies..

The "Movement table" was quite handy to show me that I also needed to trust you for LTC and TRC..

One question, when you want to issue me some BTC iou I can see you sent the actual BTC to a seperate BTC address on its own.. how come? wouldnt it be easier for you to not move the BTC and just issue the IOU?

You are correct, any amount of XRP would do. In fact there is a social engineering angle to using exactly 1.000 XRP. It may be changed to a smaller, random amount.

In the OP, I did list the 1 XRP as a fee.
