Hi guys and girls! After making quite a lot of money then losing it and crying about it half the afternoon I have decided to give up gambling for good.  Its not for me in have a much too addictive personality. So now I just plan to work for casinos but not gamble.

The thing is you know you should cash out but you always want just that little bit more and then u lose the whole lot. I'm stupid and greedy. Right after I lost i put more in and doubled it then I went all in and lost it. So yes u can make a killing gambling with such a small about like a few dollars but then u lose all u make and waste a lot of time and energy and end up getting upset. Also i shake like mad when I gamble and I hate that. I tremble. When I lose I can't believe what the screen is telling me.

So any thoughts ? Ways to stop ? Ways to gamble with play money ? Maybe there are dust gambling casinoes I can use? U know just for fun and for the fix. Smiley

There are lot of ways to give up your gambling habits. And of those are you can change it physical sport games, like basketball, tennis, chess, billiard, or you can play PSP games, for you to for get your gambling addiction something like that.

Gambling not easy to give up is not for someone like me for any reason with the exception of me winning. So far I will continue winning then I am not giving up because even the work I do, I dont give up because I will earn something at the end of the  month and if gambling can give me that with seamless effort, I dont see the reason why I should give that up but on the otherhand if I am loosing then I dont need to be told to give up.

You should understand that we make a conscious effort in order to start or stop something. Stopping addiction isn't easy to achieve and must take a personal conviction of the victim to say "oh no I'm done with this so I'm going to quit" else there are chances you'd go back so I will suggest a counselor got the addict to make him/her realize they are taking a step together to help him quit and with that cooperation coupled with staying away from gambling activities the addiction will be easily fought.

yes it's not easy to give up gambling I've seen many people ruined their life in gambling but still do gambling. You should concentrate on other things which you likes to do and keeping yourself busy is the only option.

Certainly it's not an easy thing if you are a very addicted gambler. And overcoming it alone will be one of the hardest challenge of your life but you can do it with a big help from peers, getting consulted by experts and having other interest besides with gambling. And I agree, the keeping your busy from other things will help you to give it up.
- I agree with you, when we are addicted, we need the help of people around, we can not fight addiction alone, it really is very difficult, we need someone supports our spirit. The most important is that we need to realize our illness
- Many people never accepted themselves addicted, they always try to justify gambling behavior. Keeping busy is good but it is only a temporary treatment, want radical treatment, we must realize problem we face

Remember that no man is an island. And always we need to keep living together with other people. So when this type of problem comes to us we are have some back to lean on. And those people that aren't admitting that they are actually addicted with gambling does have some attitude problem which is more hard to give up.

It's really easy, just give up and the first days will be brutal, but it will be great once you conquer the urge to gamble, you can eventually even get bored of gambling and you will start saving money.

If you don't know how to deal with your gambling its better than you dont gamble or disasters will happen.

People that cant control their gambling habit is the worse of all and they are going to ruin everything including their future and family. I dont think that this kind of people should even start gambling however there is no way to tell how one person is going to turn once he lose in gambling, will he be able to control himself or not

its been said from time to time here mate but for sure its the person's willingness to achieve and giving up to gambling that will help him to stay away, the more you keep your mind thinking of something that will allow you to stop even in a short time thinking about this gambling activity will allow your mind to set up new things, so better to be willing and allow other things to correct this and move away.

If you are able to wean yourself off gambling for a day, you can do it for a week, a month, a year, even for good. It just requires willpower. The first few months will be hard and painful, but after that, something new will take over.

Don't gamble with play money. It'll just give you reason to put in your own money and waste away.
What do you mean by play money? It's not real if it's play money. You can just rip it and not be accused of something. Gambling can make your day worse or better depending if you win or not. Just make sure that you are capable of losing.

yes it's not easy to give up gambling I've seen many people ruined their life in gambling but still do gambling. You should concentrate on other things which you likes to do and keeping yourself busy is the only option.
You have to determine what things that will make you interest more than gambling, once your addicted you will be wanting to gamble all the time and your time and effort will only be wasted in gambling. We all have the choice to give up but it will not happen if we have not fully accepted that gambling is no longer our friend that will give us entertainment, once time comes you'll accepted it, the real process of quitting will start.
If you make yourself busy in other things, it would be easier to quit it. When you are addicted to something, it's hard to stop doing it because you are used to it and your body and brain is probably looking for it often. Knowing that you could start easily again, whether online or in a real casino, it would be hard to overcome. Just surround yourself with the right people and you can do it eventually.

Yeah , The main part of our lifestyle and work and also job totally effected by our company with which type of people we are living . If anyone will say keep distance from bad things ( like gambling or even another things) then your mind will not simply say to you to go for gambling .
In this way if you can change your community and company for good then you can also leave gambling for good .

Exactly dude. I think a person would already have an idea if he can handle gambling because he knows his personalityore than anyone. If in the first one or two tries you had a hard time controlling yourself, then avoid doing it the third time because you know you'll get yourself into deeper trouble. Gambling should only be for those peoplr who are in full control of their emotions to avoid addiction and future problems

Why would you avoid it only after few tries? there is almost no point to stop gambling when you win. People only stop when they lose and to avoid losing more than what they could afford. If you ended up winning and you stop, thats just mean you are not going to get more profit then what you have gotten though

For some reason people usually stopping after winning from gambling because they are just trying to prevent losing in the end . Aiming for more profit usually ends up on that situation because you can't be sure if you will still win if you try to proceed to the next game . Actually it is much a better choice ad it is necessary .
A choice depends on your gambling plan or game plan, if you are winning and the bankroll you put is something that you can afford to lose, I guess it's alright to proceed and look for greater income if you did not hit your target yet. The problem in most of gamblers is they do not have the guide to follow when gambling so they will not know when to stop or quit.

I guess we should learn both, stopping when we are losing enough and winning enough is always the best practice in gambling. We lose because we aim for more and I called that gambling without a proper game plan. Think always that we cannot make the house go bankrupt with our little amount of bankroll, so we should know our place and act accordingly.

I agree, we should always set a limit both profit and loss when gambling. When we reach our target profit we shoud stop gambling that time and just come back the next day. Same if we lose, don't attempt to deposit more trying to recover what you lose. Gambling is a game of luck. We would not win always and lose as well. It is all about limiting ourself when playing.
