It’s sad to see the scarcity of candidates on this thread to @Pmalek’s initiative, plus the proven inadequacy of some of those postulants. You can’t really put it any easier than on this thread.
I will just allocate them in the usual way if I dont get the wanted response in this thread.

I am not surprised that few newbies have stepped up.
Feel free to share up to 3 of your posts if you want and I will have a look at them.

I would've applied on this thread but sad to say I'm not qualified yet.

Keep posting quality posts and merits will surely come your way sooner or later. If not add, your posts in this thread once you get 30+ Activity.

I am not surprised that few newbies have stepped up. Most either are spamming hoping for a merit and not even looking for a place to put decent content, or are too new to crypto to have anything worthwhile to share. Personally, I joined here long before merit was a thing and I am not that worried about the member level. I post what I think I can share, where I at least know something about the topic.

It might be a good idea to have a thread where those who have merit can make suggestions of newbies who deserve it but haven't gotten it yet but that itself can be open to abuse, so I'm not sure what the answer to the issue should be.

This kind of proves by example (therefore not an empirical rule though) that the amount of Newbie accounts that are willing to place a bit of real effort into earning a single merit is scarce in comparison to the number of Newbie accounts. Likely, those that are decent posters enough do not have too much trouble getting merit themselves on their usual posting routes.

You Copy/Pasted this one, I dont even want to check any further.

EDIT: The author on steemit and swaggerkeme seem to be the same person but using different usernames which lead me to believe that swaggerkeme copy/pasted but I made a mistake

This is a good idea to give some merit points to newbies.

Unfortunately the ranks in here and the merit points hinder people like me who are mostly (99% of the time) reading and otherwise posting some smalltalk to become active with their own project.
We are planning an ANN but with my account that seems to be never possible (39 activity points and newbie)
I assume thats because I registered 2 years ago. Seems as the age of the account is included in the activity aswell.

Nice post. I am here to help if they are quality poster. I will check full post history if they deserve I will help, because funding quality post is too difficult. Although OP deserve merit from me but I want to send directly to newbie. I don't like to see them hopeless. I like to motivate them and I have been doing that. Most of merit I have sent to newbie lately.

Hopefully, I'm not a pro at detecting plagiarism and considering the first reply you got on the thread quoted below, but If the OP or Someone better at that could help verify that your below post isn't plagiarized, then you'll have your first merit but, if it is, Oh well I might not even be the one to report it.

If you feel so, why don't you provide the OP with a link to one of your post you feel is cool or that at least deserves consideration as regards been merited
You have about 150 plus activities, getting one previous quality post shouldn't be a herculean task for you, except of course you're a................

Merry Christmas to you as well!

Unfortunately I will not merit you for now. Two reasons:

1. The suggestion you mentioned in your post was reported as a bad idea a few pages after your reply - here is that post by Spendulus.
https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.36820961

2. A lot of your posts are about shilling different altcoins all around the altcoin section, siacoin, ark, neo etc. You are entitled to your own opinion of which coins and tokens you want to buy and sell but here is one thing I didn't like. These two posts, posted one after the other where in both threads you wrote that that particular coin is your favourite coin:

I have decided to open this thread in order to help ONLY Newbie members and give them a chance to rank up to J. Member.

When I saw this thread, I thought "What a great idea, I wil try something similar in my local board"

Then I keep reading it and found that OP gave so far 1 merit...  Probably you will only increase your ignore list lol

Since opening this thread, OP's sMerit stash increased from wanting to Merit 4 Newbies to 6 Newbies. This once again shows Merit isn't scarce.

This. That's the problem, spammers don't want to produce anything, don't want to participate in the forum as real users. They just want to take as much as possible from the forum, without adding nothing to it.

most of the users do not even to spend their time here, reading and writing well...

I gave 1 Merit so far to 1 Newbie but several other users merited my thread and I think it is only fair to distribute the received Merits based on this thread as sMerits to more Newbies.

Just thinking, if you can create a google spread sheet in first post for the list of user that you think deserve atleast 1 merit but you are not able to give (if you run out of smerits)

Thanks for being willing to chip in but for the time being it seems that there are not many users who have decent posts to show. Or they have not yet seen my thread, either way a google spreadsheet wont be needed for now.

Please read the rules and apply accordingly and I will take a look at your posts.

I am alive but in hibernation.
@OP

I think  I have also sMerits to spare and I will definitely chip in if you find more than 6 eligible people.

Yes, the response was way below what I expected. The thread will stay open and 6 merits are still available for those who have something to contribute.

Thanks to LoyceV, DdmrDdmr and paxmao there are now 6 Merits available for 6 Newbie members who comply with the rules.

I'm the one who received your first merit. I don't understand why so many new people always complain about earning the first merit, they always assume that there is discrimination between legendary members and new people, their writings are ignored, merit is hard to earn..bla bla. But when this topic was posted, a great opportunity for them to earn merit, I didn't see many newbie responding.
