I do not see prospects to restore bitcoin. The price increase in bitcoin was triggered by high trust of users to what will be implemented segwit2x. This did not happen. It seems to me that this is the main problem of falling prices. I do not understand why developers are silent. It is their direct responsibility to ensure that bitcoin is competitive. We all become hostages of their inaction.

Seeing the nature of Bitcoin (being extremely volatile), we will see such bloodbaths and scary moments every now and then in future. We cannot always expect the price of Bitcoin to keep going up, but there will be times when we will have to see it going downward too. All we can do or we should do is not to panic and stress out. Mostly I see when the price of Bitcoin drops even just 3 to 5%, they start to panic and decide to immediately sell their Bitcoins. The FUDs have so affected them that every time they see the price dropping, they think it is the time when it goes straight to zero, although that moment is never to come.

Dump it!!!
9000 was scary for a second I actually thought it would dip below this range but bitcoin being bitcoin it recovered after whales took advantage of the cheap coins thanks to the weak hands that dumped now price is back and on the hunt for a new ATH

Thankfully we recovered from the $9k blood bath, how long until you the think BTC reaches a new all-time high above $20k?

It was expected so I think it's not surprising. The only question back then is how long the bloodbath will lasts and now same question can be applied, how long will this increase go. Honestly it's good to see that we have some strong support at around $10,000 so basically, we can really expect that sooner or later, price will recovered after that stressful days of red phase.

Bitcoin to reached again another new all-time high must not be more to concern today. What matters here is, after that FUD and negative speculations about bitcoin during the bloodbath, we must see how bitcoin price is ready to take again another leap. Id rather see some slow but continous price increase rather than jumping on a higher level.

Hovering slightly above a crucial support doesn't mean we can take higher highs immediately. Bitcoin and other alts haven't fully recovered yet, so I don't think we'll be going through wild rides any time sooner. From time to time, we're still touching $10000, so that already speaks volumes about the market's ability to push forward. Also, a huge sell wall is still blocking $11700 range hours ago, so there's that. All in all, the market is not ready to take a push, but rather would remain as to where it is as of now.
indeed the value of bitcoin might will get stuck for a while , at least for several months but hope it won't takes time that much and the positive rumours could come early more than what people expect and also think about…

a little bit pessimistic for bitcoin to grow so fast in the near future it won't  happened for me considering the panic selling just happened and people get confused.

It is going to be a roller coaster ride, no steep increase for a long time nor a slump for a long period, on an average if the coin fares at 13K that will bring fortune for many this year.

Thankfully we recovered from the $9k blood bath, how long until you the think BTC reaches a new all-time high above $20k?

I think it is not easy to say that the bloodbath has been finished now because still there is no confirmation of bullish trend and i don't think it will be right to predict the market when there is no confirmation of any trend either uptrend or downtrend. Still i can't see that the bloodbath has been ended and i think we should be waiting for the confirmation of the trend and then once the trend is confirmed we can go to predict the price levels of the bitcoin and then we can predict the time taken means how long does it will take to reach the new record high breaking the previous high of $20k.

I think you can breath a sigh of relief for now. Because bitcoin is holding strong at $11,500 but its still a far cry from the $17,000-$19,000 that we enjoyed in the November-2nd week of December 2017. We are in the road to recovery, it may be slow but its better that way because we don't want the price to quickly surge just like we have seen last year. But I will remain cautious as the South Korean FUD is still up and their government hasn't made any official announcement as to what direction they really want to go. But I'm optimistic that whatever the outcome is, it will have a short term effect to the ecosystem. But it was nice to see that the crypto sphere is already back on its feet.

I think it's not so hard to predict what South Korean government will do about Bitcoin. I mean it's a democratic country and thus doing something against their people's interests is very risky for them because people can change the government. It surprises me how easy many people believed in the FUD. Countries like South Korea will never ban Bitcoin imo.

The market is beginning to thaw. Thank god!

Yes, thanks heavens for that. The market has been a blood bath for almost a week now and FUDs kept on increasing while bitcoin and other altcoin's price was decreasing. Thankfully, the market is now slowly recovering and trying to stabilize itself. I can see a lot of greens now, but the prices are still fluctuating a lot. But I think that is a good sign, it means that the movement in the market are no longer being monopolized at a large scale. Hope this progress and increase in size continues.

Fluctuation is a normal on the market what are you worrying about ? it is just a first month of 2018 and the journey of bitcoin will take 11 more months to complete out expectations to it. I see bitcoin will hit more than $22000 before this year ends and looking for more compatible establishments and companies accepting bitcoin as a payment. Those who sold their bitcoin during its drop has a weak hands and mind for not thinking that this was just a part of being a high volatile asset.

I personally think that the slump on bitcoin's price is not yet over. We're experiencing a dead cat bounce for now and it will go sideways from $8.5k to $12k. For long term, I am positive that it will recover to around $15k-$20k. Hopefully, by end of 2018, we might be able to see $40k. The FUDs all over the news and social media is what's causing the pull on bitcoin's price, there could also be manipulation due to the futures.

Yeah am glad to see bitcoin bouncing back gradually the $9000 price was really a blood bath, but in bitcoin no one can predict rightly what will happen in the nearest future due to bitcoin volatility. But to just say bitcoin is going to gradually recover to it price at early January and may likely rise to above $20,000 in the middle of this year but that not withstanding the price may even fall further more so expect the unexpected.

The act of bitcoin price is sometimes above normal. You can't expect the down down down to the low price of bitcoin. Sounds funny but from downfall price it raises again to the peak that probably above the expected price of many people. Slowly it will back again and soar high to the level.

I don`t want to be too optimistic about this. The FUD continues to create panic.China sooner or later will ban crypto mining and the btc futures trading is pushing the price down.I think that the btc price will remain in the 10K-13K USD area and we might see some big increase next year. There might be a few hard forks this year that will help for a short term price increase, but they will be too small compared with the Bitcoin cash hard fork.

Bitcoin's price has a tendency to peak @ the end of the year, near christmas and the holidays. It is possible we won't see more all time highs until 3rd or 4th quarter 2018. That year end peak we saw in 2017 may be seasonal and driven by increased demand and volume produced by christmas shopping, black friday and similar consumer trends. Many of the best shopping deals and free shipping incentives occur at years end.

The btc price decline at the beginning of the year we're seeing now could be normal. Many are done with their christmas and black friday shopping. They could revert back to HODL mode until next christmas. This represents a decline in crypto network volume (demand) which might be correlated with the billions lost in crypto market cap.
